Correct me if I'm wrong, but I beleive some people prefer 60fps with these games. Something about the picture being more "crisp" than the optional 120fps optional games.
Ita more for the tutorial purposes. So player know what to do. In real life gunner would not tell pilot when to do engine run up or relese the brakes but might help ya with elevator check as he looks back.
from the outside it looks just like an SBD but when you fly it, it turns into F6F Hellcat! What a realistic game. I bet if you try flying the F4U Corsair it turns into an F-16! 😆😅🤣
These graphics look great, but I think it's a stretch to say they're next gen. Some games today do represent a huge step forward. Look at the racing game "Ride 4", for example. That's truly cutting edge.
Racing games are easier. Its just environment and cars with little to no dmg simulators or elements. Anything with people is ALWAYS harder because of the detail and what it takes to animate. A car is a fancy moving box lol
The BEST looking Cartoon I've ever seen all it needs now is a Girl Pilot with a Mechanical arm. It's so REAL to life combat when he closes the Cockpit to bomb things then opens it for all the Air to Air combat just like in Real Life. That's what saved his life in this mission by the way good combat tip. Wow awesome game I'd pay out at least $2.00 for something like this. Pretty Cool Thank You.

That run by this torpedo bomber is an actual historical portrayal of an actual pilot(s) who did a similar aircraft carrier attack at the Battle of Midway. (Literally it was almost exact tbh) Sure most could assume that, or knew that. But Pretty damn cool of the game designers doing that.
This game LOOKS beautiful. However, that seems to be the length of it. The plane handling is so unrealistic, the zeros are darting around like dragon flies, the players plane which is a “bomber” is turning better than modern day jets. This looks like Call of Duty in the sky, and that’s NOT a good thing… Too bad, I really got hyped up for the game before they took off from the carrier.
Realialistic? Bahhh.. Fly the plane and this is hited several times, and still Fly, with the pilot injuried? meeehhh.. IL-2 Sturmovik Series is realistic... this is árcade game... 😁

Graphics are nice but a carrier launching aircraft especially in WW2 needed to be going hard into the wind. The sea looks almost glassy. Kills the attempted vibe.
Because it the was most common for pacific missions lol They werent dog fighters. They were long flight planes. All the scrappers were tied up in Europe for urban and short flight missions. Its also not a pilot game, so why invest time into plane variety lol However I think COD is capable of doing a squadrons style game now with the classic planes and good campaign to vary up the games.
I just hate it when a game just becomes a cinematic you're not really participating in a battle you're just in for the joyride. that is what modern games are just a Joyride. This is why I don't play that and this is why I play fhsw. because it's so different. by what I mean ? hundreds of unique planes to play with all in multiplayer against each other meanwhile there is a gigantic ground battle taking place below you in multiplayer. this can be complete naval battles or ground invasions or both. yes graphics don't look fancy but it's so worth it.
So realistic, you reload magically in the air, and take more hits than an A-10. Stick with DCS-A-10c game, now THAT is more realistic. The graphics look real nice here, but it is just another arcade shootem up. Lame.
yep...walking to the aircraft, already started and nobody in the cockpit. nobody standing on the brakes, nobody controlling the throttle or prop pitch...nobody making sure the aircraft doesnt tip over. See the same shit in those Battlefield 3/4 cut scenes where the aircraft already running with nobody in them. Its like they dont even care...

This is a terrible representation of the battle for sure, but the SBD was anything but a piece of tin. They could take huge amounts of abuse, like some other planes the US fielded in the Pacific.
SBD 3s could not dog fight with Zeros they would have been massacred. And all that detail and they put the wrong type prop spinner on the SBD. Does still look good thought.
Beautiful graphics but non existent flight model...and 50 cals shooting nuclear tipped ammo against paper fighters. Why can't they take graphics this good and put them together with equally good realism. Walking through the carrier below deck was really awesome
This is highly unrealistic, at first seem okay and have to say did pretty good job making this. So by the time they reach Japanese Fleet, a SBD trying to shoot down a zero with a bomb load? Even dropping that load on a carrier and still flying around trying to shoot down more zeros lol. In reality back then, the American doesnt want to lose pilots like that and kinda dumb flying a SBD, its possible but really hard to do to take down a zero and wasting the fuel, risking getting shot down, etc. Not how it was back in those days, the SBD pilots, go in, drop their loads and get the hell outta there!!! Well i hate to say this, but i dislike the video, cause it wasnt even close being in history back in WW2 in the Pacific. The first part from the carrier was good, the rest is crap!
Really?! its not realistic? I always thought the American Planes can absorb countless hits, had unlimited ammo, ignored physics, and the Japanese just flew in front of them in straight lines.
Tell me about it. A Dauntless had to keep formation on its bombing approach, not behave like an escort fighter duking it out with Zeros. When I saw this I said bullshit. There is a very high percentage an SBD will not survive a dogfight with a fast Zero on CAP and waiting for the SBDs to level off. They did try to get out as fast as possible after dropping their bombs using the speed that was gained on a dive. It's not just the Zeros that they have to worry about, but also every enemy ship nearby armed to the teeth and intent on shooting them down.
The devs of this game should have watched dogfights, there's one story of a Dauntless that took on 2 zeros and it was one hell of a fight eventually ending with a wing clip. Both planes clipped wings and because the Dauntless was a far more durable plane it ended up going home and the Zero went down. Certainly wasn't just easily pulling up behind the Zeros and blasting them out of the sky. He had to use airbrakes, insane yaw and rudder tactics and barely made it home.
There are far more "ultra" realistic titles on the market that match if not exceed the visuals displayed here, especially on last-gen hardware. Not looking ultra realistic or next-gen... just "fun" 4K eye-candy.
IT should be made compulsory for any ww2 war game designer for pacific theatre to read the book Shattered sword, such beautiful initial graphics, such un real stuff from then on And dont say, but make it exciting! camn you imagine the tension of trying to fly in at a CV in your TBD, at 90 knots, the cv making 30, into a wind of 30 as well. 10 miles to run before you can turn in to launch And the zeros are on that deck and getting air bourne................... Right when I clicked on the video I can clearly see that they are computer graphics. Technology is still many decades away from getting to the point where you can’t tail the difference between computer graphics and real life

The modeling is very polished, the animations are average, I liked the lighting, but the textures are terrible in this video, even more so when you're watching a 4k video on a 4k tv, The jet mission in BF3, from 2011, manages to excite me more than the COD VG mission.

This looks cool but like more of an arcade shooter. Pilot personally gets shot like 10 times, his plane like 50, and they enter the action almost immediately. Anybody thats played Pacific Fighters, you know takes hella time just to get to bombing height of the Dauntless. Still......this is action packed tho. Eh, now that i think about, theyre prob playing the game on easy for presentation.

The governor is also the eyes and ears for the pilot what’s going on behind into the flanks
