I've done something similar for my D&D group. Cranberry juice for healing potions, woodruff syrup colored/flavoured water for antivenom, clear apple juice for golden elixirs and using blue food coloring for blue elixirs, mixing with red for purple ones... depending on the buff they are supposed to give.

Indian ink is waterproof if you ever find yourself wanting to avoid reactivating the ink.
Grenadine and Vodka is what you use for consumable potions of healing!
