    Nice work, Dave. The joy of success was evident on your face and in your voice. When you raised your hands all your digits were still there, too! Prayer and patience gets us through all dificulties. I'm sorry to hear of the loss of Daisy. A good dog is a family member and it's devistating when they pass. She can not be replaced. Maybe a puppy would be a blessing. I prefer females because they are more sensitive and tend too stay closer. I always council my customers when replacing their Golden Retrievers that each dog is an individual with their own personalities. Enjoy your new puppy, get know her personality, and keep your lost dog [Daisy] in your heart like the dear friend that they were. God bless you and stay safe. Dave

      thank you for those comforting words. yes Ole Daisy was a unique spirit / personality. I prefer the females myself. I may at some point look into helping a dog in need. I was over joyed to finally be at the point of addressing the problem. I will sure be glad when this job is over. lol

    Watched these last two videos out of order but man that was a lot to remove. I feel your pain. Hey many times I have to stop and pray for help on jobs like this, it always helps too! Labor cost is exactly why I did my Farmtrac 60’s clutch myself, later I helped with a 3000 Ford as well. Best of luck to you during all this!

    Can you explain to us why you needed to change the clutch I had a 3901 hydrostat that I had to change the clutch in because of the clutch plates come apart having no release on the clutch. I also have changed tractor clutches about a dozen times moving it Forward is the wisest when putting back together have a couple of yellow ratchet straps front axle to rear axle to put it together

    • @daveknowshow
      @daveknowshow  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thanks Bob yes I used a ratchet strap as well. and a bore scope to line the splines up. I will show the reason its being changed in an up coming video but what prompted this job was a noisy ringing sound. more likely the throw out bearing. in an earlier video I used a bore scope to investigate the clutch area and it appeared to be a split down the middle of the fingers that the bearing presses against. you can check that video and see what I'm talking about. after opening it up I discovered it was not a crack but instead a grease line that wiped off. lol still the clutch disc was out of spec but not worn. I will show this in a future video real soon. like in the next couple days more likely. right now tranny and motor is back bolted together. new clutch is in. working on clean up, and then installing the steering components and such to get it back operational. cant work on it but a couple hours every few days so its going slow.

      800 hours. it got noisy had a ringing that was worse than the typical throw out bearing noise. the disc pad was not worn at all but the boss was worn and the bearing. I will show this and how to check it in a video coming up very soon maybe before the weeks end.

      @3RD Werks its ok that is what makes Bob who he is. we love him even with any flaws he has since we are all far from perfect. life is about choices. you can choose to lift a person by pointing out their strengths or you can bring them down by ridiculing and pointing out every detail they failed at or you disagree with. Bob chooses to not allow people to bring him down by blocking them. that is pretty smart on his part. when a person suffers with depression and mental illness they dont need anyone to bring them down any further than they are. they need folks to lift them up. praise them for what they did right. that is not the same as praising someone for doing nothing so dont get it twisted. Bob is not after a participation trophy he just prefers uplifting support for what he can do over ridicule for what he failed to do or did differently from what someone else may do. life is about choices I hope in the future you will choose to lift up folks like Bob and myself. we are here to help others and offer something good in the spirit of giving. I could easily block you as well but instead I made a choice to merely share with you my thoughts. I hope you will receive them in the positive spirit I offered them. peace love and respect to you and your family.

      we are at 800 hours and 16 years old. I started hearing a rattle coming from the machine. I first thought it was the valves needed adjusting so we did a video on adjusting the valves. that did need doing but did not fix the rattle. so here we are chasing that rattle into the clutch. this has been an adventure and we are now approaching some final steps to get it back together.

    • @ottostasi8226
      @ottostasi8226 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@daveknowshow Ok , I saw the video of you adjusting the valves but didn't know you traced it down to a clutch problem . Thank you for getting back so quickly , I have a L 3400 with almost 400 hours I hope I don't encounter that problem . How common is that , and what caused it ? Thanks for your time & effort .

    • @daveknowshow
      @daveknowshow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ottostasi8226 I think what caused my clutch issue was age of machine and lack of grease in the throw out bearing. over time the grease got hard from merely sitting. had the tractor been used more the clutch would have been worn out from high hours. so either way at its age in years or hours it needed looking into. your machine L3400 is the sister to this machine L2800. your L3400 has a two stage clutch which is a better design in some cases. just keep a listen to it for any ringing or rattling sounds when the clutch is released. also never ride with your foot on the clutch pedal. you likely know that last one but worth mentioning in case someone who dont know reads this thread.
