    Well, naming different animals of the same species is just a way of telling the difference, like common dolphins and bottle nose dolphins, they're of the same species but named different

      Uh, common dolphins and bottle nose dolphins aren't even in the same *genus.*

      @@brigidtheirish I get your point, but I'm trying to say is that their in the same family of dolphins, my point was that their named differently not only to tell them apart but for their unique differences apart from other dolphins, the spotted dolphins get their name from their spots and the Pacific white sided dolphins get their name for their white side and being in the Pacific, the same reason catfish are named differently.
