    Like you, tried it at the festival and was blown away by it. The best Talisker I have tried, sadly a bit to steep in cost but truly lovely stuff. Great review buddy!

    Great review Alan, this was also my dram of the day from the GWF, only thing holding me back from grabbing a bottle is the hefty price tag of £160. Slàinte 🥃

    What a whisky!! The best Talisker I've tried. Bearing in mind I had some palate fatigue at the festival, it was still outstanding, and my whisky of the festival. Great review pal

    I'd grab this Douglas Laing Independent Talisker in a heartbeat and yes even at what I'd pay in Canada! I hope I can track this beauty down!! Fabulous review Alan!! I enjoyed it so much!! Cheers! 🙂

    Thanks for reviewing Alan.
    Most (read: almost aal) whiskies I purchase are IB's. Often way better. Have not had a Talisker from Hunter Laing yet.
    Slàinte mhath

    This was a standout for me at last year's Glasgow Whisky festival.

    @thewhiskyfriend an indie I’d recommend trying is a 10 yr old Ben Nevis from Single Malts of Scotland (Parcel no.10). It’s a blend of 5 oloroso Sherry hogsheads, NCF & natural colour at 48% ABV. It’s really, really good if you like sherry influenced Scotch and a fair price.

    Hi from Switzerland. This Talisker seems interesting. I bought recently Talisker Port Ruighe, found it not bad but not worth buying again. Didn't find old malt cask 11 in my country. But for this price I can buy 3 bottles of Ledaig 10 or more than 2 of Port Charlotte 10 or 3 bottles of Longrow peated or Laphroaig quartercask or 2 bottles of Laphroaig Lore. Is it really interesting to pay 160 pounds (188 CHF) for such a whisky, when you can find excellent whiskes much cheaper? You rated 90 pts in review 959, Port Charlotte 10; 89 pts for Ledaig 10 in review 909. I love these whiskies. There are in my permashelf and I have 6 bottles of each. I had the chance to buy Port Charlotte 10 last year for a very good price : 63.20 CHF (70.27 pounds) but it's higher now : 76 CHF (84.5 pounds).
    Thank you again for all what I'm learning with you. Slàinte.

      I used to like Talisker 20 years ago. It's a shame that the price of the 18 is now 200 CHF (180 pounds) in Switzerland. Like John McEnroe said : you can't be serious!"th-cam.com/video/t0hK1wyrrAU/w-d-xo.html@@thewhiskyfriend

    Talisker 25 years ago was a different drink from the pish Diageo put out now. I tried their 2023 special release, god, if that’s “special” what’s the core range become…

      @thewhiskyfriend  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      There was a legendary talisker 8 special release from 2018....that was special...this one is in that ball park....£75 back then though this is around £160....times have changed i bought my first talisker 25 in 2007 for £145....

      Yep....So many whiskies were infinitely better to what they are now, in fact they taste like completely different drinks. Highland Park is another one... These whiskies were all deeper, richer, more flavourful....they taste more like water than whisky now.

      I had a glass of standard Talisker 10 yesterday at a pub. It had nothing distinctive about it at all and just tasted of standard whisky like Teachers or something. It used to taste like drinking a fermented meteorite.
