Quite simply the finest Piano Quintet ever written. And this is the best performance of it I’ve seen. From all instrumentalists. Martha is, in my opinion, the greatest pianist of all time, bar none.
I agree with you completely on all points
I love how every single instrument is playing an active role in this piece. It's really a quintet and not just the piano or the violins stealing the show.
Yes, but let's be honest the 2nd violin part kind of stinks lol. All the other strings have it a lot better.
Argerich is the QUEEN. But wow, the string players are magnificent!
All the string players are from The Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, mainly the leaders.
Is clearly Israel.
Robert and Clara studied Bach's Well Tempered Clavier, Book 1. I think the Quintet is based on No. 7 in E flat., and of course, it's dedicated to her. It's such a powerful love gift.
At 69, soon to be 70 (me), Martha Argerich is my inspiration - completely, totally, unconditionally. Thank you IPO for this superb recording.
I turned 40 not too long ago and she's mine too. Although Horowitz will always be my number one.
@@vladimirhorowitz sorry, Martha is my Nr. 1, Horowitz my Nr. 2 ;)
Le quintette intégral dans une version de grande qualité ! Je désespérais de trouver un tel trésor et je n’avais dans ma playlist que le quintette en 4 morceaux. Merci l’orchestre et Martha Argerich. “Israël twelve points !” 👍
Astounding performance by everyone! This quintet combines Schumann's Romantic lyricism with his ingenious polyphonic conversations between instruments and sweeping lines. The music is very literally "alive" in the hands of these artists, and how appropriate to be shared internationally from Israel, the most special land on earth!
the string players hold their own with the piano. top notch
This is the best interpretation of this quintet I've ever heard. Marvelous!
i would feel so honored to get to play alongside her!! 😍
My dear friend and Yale College classmate Miriam is the violist. All hail, Miriam!
OMG who is this??? I am afraid to ask!!!!!

She is absolutely fantastic!!
So beautiful… I cant explain what I feel 😮
This is a magnificent performance of one the very best Romantic chamber works. Thank you.
Simply fantastic! As tender a reading of the 2nd movement as I can imagine. Altogether as good as it gets.
Вот это настоящее искусство. Мастерство. Браво .

BTW, listen to Schumann on his birthday. Thank you for your video.
Que calidad de la interpretación de esta pieza, tanto del cuarteto como de la gran pianista Martha Argerich
Спасибо! Какая красивая музика. 2. ое движение как старая немецкая сказка.
Sublime
Absolutely beautiful!
Beautiful
Amazing!! So touching...
Martha Argerich is fantastic as ever, but what are the names of the string players? They are superb!

😍🎹😍
Jews and classical music...a beautiful combination 🎶🎶🎶
How do you know they are jews?
@@Frenchie1116 Well Martha Argerich is Jewish and I'm going way out on a limb and guessing members of the Isrealis Philharmonic are too.

At 21:55 the fingering in the right hand 😂
Lothos brought me here 🧛♂️
Israeli pride
cello is slower, the piano is in tempo
The tempo drags too much at times in the first movement for my taste.
Can't she so SOMETHING with that hair??? It's not complimentary.
She lost her tempo. Is she old or is she tuned to the strings
straordinario tono il violino,bravo
bravo il violinista ❤ Israele trovi pace
the name of violinist?
