The Common House Martin - fun facts and footage

An educational video I made about the Common House Martin from all the videos I've taken of them in the past few years. Even though they are non-breeding migrants to southern Africa, Roberts mentions some instances where they were seen to build nests and one that is mentioned and involves the Eastern Cape, South Africa, was a small colony that nested for a few years at Keiskammahoek up until 1946.

I love these birds. They are starting to arrive to Europe now, although some of them wintering in southwest of Iberian peninsula 🌅

Here is South Africa, they are gathering with the Barn Swallows and getting ready to migrate north to Europe. I think in two week's time they will leave.
