First off this car is ABSOLUTELY beautiful. I salute the owner for keeping up with the car. I wouldn't ever be able to have the patience to clean every little spec of dirt off ever inch of the car ever time I take it out to keep it looking this mint all the time. I'm not much of a "stancenation" fan, but thats the one thing I have mad respect about the scene. I can always appreciate a very clean and mint body/paint. This Z is seriously as good as it gets. Awesome review David!
You know why I have a mad amount of respect for you? You don't judge people based on what they drive, or say how things should be. A lot of people I know would rip this Z and it's owner to bits for having it cambered and keeping it on the stock engine. But what do you do? "It's his car, it's the way he wants it set up." You are what every car guy should be, I swear. ;-;
The z1 exhaust used to be made by Momentum Performance which went out of business is 2012. Z1 just now puts their logo on the exhaust as they are mainly a re-seller/tuner.

That tall shifter reminds me of the Eurovan I drove back in the Netherlands. And actually also the stanced integra I reviewed. Not that bad, looks weird, but you'll never miss a shift! And I always liked the exhaust note on those 350z's, especially with a nice set of pipes. This one sounds heavily! I hope one crosses my path down the line. Do want me some of that!

One of the coolest things I have ever seen was a heavily modded Evo X. The thing had been converted into a 2-door along with a wide body kit, although the engine was in pieces due to it being somebody's project car
Great car & review. The HR is almost an entirely different engine than the DE & rev up. 80% different/upgraded parts. Also the gtr is a VR motor, not a VQ motor however David is right - the HR & VHR rngines are quite similar to the VR38DETT. The DE however is nowhere near it.
You said this is your favorite sounding Z. I'm sure your friend who owns the car, knows motordyne shockwave is known as the best sound possible for the VQ. Once you hear it in person, you will understand the $3k price tag. That Z1 exhaust is 1/3 of the price. I like the rocket bunny kit though, although personally I would never rock it. Nice review.
+Motordyne G35 motordyne sounds amazing with ART pipes. BUT IMO the top speed pro 1 exhaust, with Berk high flow cats is my favorite for the VQ. especially on G35's. less then half the price too!
I used to own Invidia Gemini with ART pipes and thought it sounded the best, until I heard the shockwave in person. Have you ever heard Motordyne Shockwave in person?
For the record, I used to own Top Speed resonated test pipes before MD ART pipes. I also had berk HFC first, but then they blew up. HFC will fail eventually. Top speed is horrible, the fitment is really bad. Top speed is the cheapest for a reason. The test pipes would rattle against the heat shields. I had to wrap them in DEI header wrap to keep them from rattling. I actually hated them. Once I got motordyne ART pipes, the change in sound was drastic. Much much much cleaner. I've been through BERK HFC, Resonated Topspeed test pipes and I wish I would have just not been cheap and gotten the motordyne in the first place. It would have saved me money in the long run. Motordyne is worth every penny. ART pipes never fail, but my berk HFC did and so will yours.

As a former Z owner, I really wanted to like this Z, but it just doesn't look good at all. Maybe it looks better in person. Love love love the steering wheel and seats.
FUCKIN UGLY, bitch I'll say it again. Stock slow engine... Shitty wheels that weigh a ton and are a show piece, no real performance benefit. The widebody is the only cool thing. Stancenation is so 2015.
I import cars from Japan so I drive many different cars on a fairly regular basis. Old GTRs (R32/R33/R34), Supras (MK3/MK4), STIs (V5/V6/V7), BMW M3 (E36/E46), S55 AMG, just to name a few. Nicest car I've driven would probably be the R34 GTR for a client, however I'll be getting my own in the next few months when a good deal comes up at auction.

+xXxMartin96xXx i feel like this isn't really rice. it's really clean, the guy doesn't talk shit to ppl trying to race everyone etc. not a fan of the camber and wheel setup tbh it's bad for the car but everyone (well..) who does that knows it. the kit gives it a real unique look and it sounds fantastic. Stock engine feels fantastic to drive imo, I wouldn't hate for leaving performance at that. fix the wheels and it'd be damn good. guys just expressing himself

@ThatDudeinBlue a friend of mine owned a 2002 Maxima (Gracy), and the responsiveness on even that car was impressive! it was stock and was beating unsuspecting civics almost every day lol

As a former Z owner, I really wanted to like this Z, but it just doesn't look good at all. Maybe it looks better in person. Love love love the steering wheel and seats.

Stock slow engine... Shitty wheels that weigh a ton and are a show piece, no real performance benefit. The widebody is the only cool thing. Stancenation is so 2015.

I import cars from Japan so I drive many different cars on a fairly regular basis. Old GTRs (R32/R33/R34), Supras (MK3/MK4), STIs (V5/V6/V7), BMW M3 (E36/E46), S55 AMG, just to name a few. Nicest car I've driven would probably be the R34 GTR for a client, however I'll be getting my own in the next few months when a good deal comes up at auction.
