Hey im new to duck hunting, I went with my uncle and he told me to get a good duck call for him to take me out again so I can get the full expirence. So I was wondering if for a newby like myself, what would you recommend as a good starter, but will be just as good when I get better. I was thinking the Duck Picker or The Hi baller from Jase Pro series.

Too bad it's acrylic, the wooden Cutdown from DC is my favorite call of all time. It's turned so many with single quacks that throaty sound from the wood is second to none IMO.
Just seeing this after I posted the same thing. I tried all Hayden’s and primos and even the other duck commander calls suck. However I bought the wooden cutdown for 16$ in 2001. Like you say just simple quacks turned em on a dime. I once shot and missed a duck like 3 times, awful ik, but I called him back every time after shooting at him. Why’d they crapped out idk.

Sucks compared what they used to make. The wooden cutdown version was the best call ever. I tried there other calls in the early 2ks. That’ one was the only one that’s worked they all sucked then and now. Why they cheapened out is bedside me
