Honestly im happy they got ambushed, Kia'i has an amazing build and we haven't seen her in action since that UFO LANDING mission LONG LONG ago, she deserves a chance!
lots of the lower ranked folks deserve more than they are getting, i was really surprised a few eps ago when he bought rookies, like they're never going to see a live mission.
It's really being thaaat long, wow! I remember she being amazing there too. Wasn't that like her frst mission? Anyway, that MVP photo could have been nice, hahaha. If only she had arrived sooner into the fight it might have been super amazing!!! 😁
@@MrUltracet I think it might be a matter of having extra people, both for the covert actions aaand, you know, just in case something unexpected might happen. Having options to fill gaps from loses seems very important in this game. Not that I really know what I'm talking about, though, lol! 🤣 (Just wanted to feel like I was adding something to the conversation, hahaha).
Kia’i has a potentially insane build. Insane movement and extra movement action means she can basically flank any enemy. So two actions with something like a berserker suit is great
@@jwbaker Pretty much yes, there are certain items the code has marked as "Always Recover", codex brains are one of them. It's done so you can't soft-lock yourself out of the story path progression
Old man might not be the pick for a final mission. He gets the one tree for sniping, but he really doesn't do much else but support oscurridad (not to be underestimated). Knightfather can do most of the same but also gets the reloads and bandages.
Man, Kia'i looks really strong! It's one of those characters that I would love to see more often, especially since I believe she's bonded with Nightfather. Of course, that balancing act between soilders sure seems tricky enough but, a fan can dream, hahaha. Many, many thanks for this amazing series!!! 😁
Personaly I really did try to make Tesla Troopers work, but just could not. In most fights I could hit only 1-2 enemies at best. Only enemies that were grouped enought to get 3+ hits were lost but with Tesla gun you don't get action refund when you kill them. 2 session back I remember using Kiruka Autogun with my Sparks agains Lost and it was lost of fun. Yes, you could open on pods with them, but so you could with anybody carrying grenade launcher, rocket launcher, powered weapons, wrist launcher... and their attacks would shred armor and destroy enviroment. Also, it should be really amazing for Overwatches and it says it works with Overwatch, but I could never hit more then one target, even though they always jump from helicopter at one location (but to be fair, I had same problem with Xenolators). All that and friendly fire, Tesla gun having only 2 ammo and even upgrade price (costs you 1 core). Maybe the Tesla Trooper class has some insane perks I just did not get that make this class amazing, but nothing from what I have seen made me want to take it later in selection. However, to say some positives, you do get Deadeye (or Overcharged shot, is it called?) and natural Double shot with last skill and if enemies are close together it is really nice to hit more of them and not waste rockets/grenades.
Compulsion isn't getting as much action as I would have thought. You can compel a Muton to just grenade himself and his cover, then shoot him, right? Or compel any enemy to just stand in the open. Seems strong.
And you can compel an enemy to run and trigger overwatches for you. Probably even get a Mechapede to kill it with its reaction shot, meaning you take an enemy out from the board and get free shots (no reaction) on Mechapede Unless your soldiers are jucier targets, but this should never be an unresolveable problem.
if only the Tesla trooper had some innate way to restealth after an engagement, even for one turn. you almost never get to start a fight with a pod with a trooper and there's no real reason to since they have so much armour. In order for tesla troopers to not suck they would need some unique mechanic for example one of: - innate armour pen so you can open on pods - innate restealthing mechanics, even temporarily - longer chain distances - some non-selfish benefit to chaining (explodes grenades, roots enemies, applies electroshock, stuns for 1 turn, disorients, reduces movement range, etc.) - counts for lost headshots! The Tesla trooper is just a very selfish class with minimal team benefits but it doesn't have the damage to back up the commitment you have to bring to get optimal use out of the troopers
i'm just here for odd to make meld to do mimetic skin - again - just so he can immediately spend it on anything BUT mimetic skin.... again. on the seventeenth time he talks about how much he wants that specific mod.
It was about time to get rid of the Assassin. She and the Warlock have been a pain in the ass throughout the campaign. The Hunter is also now a damage sponge and is immune to explosives but at least he dedicates himself to aiming and doesn't spam enemies until he is in direct combat. The bad thing is that the Warlock will continue to be annoying for another month, at least.
*-Megapol R&D Project 28 Status Update-* Although we've begun sale of the new models, the customers of which the product is available to are more limited than the scope of Phase 3 will require. We've considered your friends as candidates for expanding research, but they have been receiving a lot of unwanted attention which could affect Phase 3. It would be preferable if the proposal to allow them to commission the new models came from outside of the company.
I think memetic skin is a good option when your soldiers can’t cloak by any other means unlike shadows, assassin or agents. In enemy within campaign you had memetic skin on a assault class that had run and gun and close quarter shots for free. The ability to approach enemies without being seen then kill them. But maybe it can be used more than two times.
At the very end there, you gave Old Man a ripjack ability, even though you were planning on maybe giving him psionic grading in an earlier episode. Yeah it's not like there were many other good options, but at least 25 dodge in melee or a free adhesion grenade would do something when you remove his ripjack as opposed to that ability that will just stop working.
Is anyone else running the same campaign and having issues with the Guerrilla Tactics School not working on anything other than the warden, Templar and skirmisher boons?
Elliot ‘Boatman’ Tebaia 3 April 2036 My limbs will remain attached a little longer. The Commander has decided that my first deployment would be a covert operation with the Skirmishers, alongside Rhodian. Just a training deployment, but we were told to expect the unexpected - a hulking Muton was there to brief us on our arrival. A little over two weeks of intense wargaming awaits us. The Skirmisher brigade will be split into teams, taking turns to play opfor. I’m not sure what to expect yet, but I appreciate the preparation before actually facing serious battle. In our downtime, I’ve also offered to take them fishing - a chance for them to learn pre-war survival skills and obtain a little extra food, and a chance for me to observe aliens and former Advent up close without fearing for my life. It’s an idyllic assignment compared to whatever they are preparing for back on the Avenger. An assault on a Chosen stronghold - the Assassin, the very same one that has been tormenting the Skirmishers. Only XCOM’s best will be picked for that mission, more of us have been assigned to other covert ops. But I have a feeling that should they succeed, we’ll be partying over here too.
I think what you're missing is your pod sizes are too small and dark events aren't permanent. I dono man do these missions make you feel like you may lose? I mean I'm watching but you've never looked like you're in jeopardy. You need enemies to take you out of your overwatch slow push comfort zone.
Why not play a game he enjoys? Not only that but he wouldn't make these if there wasn't a large audience for them, during the 2 year gap people were constantly wanting more Xcom 2.

Why do they get to keep that on an evac? Is the game just hard-wired to do that because it's necessary to advance the plot?

Old man with the assault rifle is the way to go imo and knightfather with the sniper. maybe vice versa.

This. Enemies that don't use cover can never count as flanked.
Andromedons do andromedon shells on the other hand...

can't wait for the 4K version . thanks for the early upload

Is there any reason why you don't put rookies into the GTS to get more options to choose from?
I thought you built the Alien Psi Amp.
please continue trying to get the blaster launcher and EMP bombs!
Since I’m very late why mech troops over Sparks?
It's a continuation of Enemy Within, so the team decided that MECs made more sense than SPARKs.
It seemed like you only needed a scientist OR engineer to negate the capture for meld, you didn't need both.
