Pete’s arpeggiated picking is deceptively tricky even though the chord shapes are simple. Thank you for deconstructing the acoustic portions of the song. Much appreciated!
This lesson pointed out a couple of technical things I have been doing wrong for a couple of decades of playing this tune that are obviously the right way to do it. I'm sure you meant to say that the opening chord is an Esus4 instead of an Esus2 or an E suspended second. Looking forward to part 2 and your interpretation of Townshend's unique style and technique. No other guitar player really sounds just like him. Great job!!
Just want to say thank you Carl, you are so awesome. I've learned many songs from you. You are one of my favorites I'm advance player and can learn songs on my own. You seem to have everything right on. You are the king brother!!
@@benparsons4979 I’m struggling with chord transitions, I’ve been playing for a few months but still struggle with transitions, help would be appreciated :)
@@blooper785 one technique you can do is to strum the open strings in between chords, so you have an eighth note worth of time to change to the next chord. Its what helped me to get my chord transitions faster. Might work for you idk :)
Can someone help me, guitar is a hobby for me and I just want some things to play without tuning my guitar differently.to give you a slight idea of the level Im on I can play the intro for sweet child o mine and Johnny be goode. Those are the most advanced songs I can play.
I HAVE A VERY IMPORTANT REQUEST PLEASE OH PLEASE!!¡¡!! IF I MAY, The Groove by Muse!!!!!! Thank you thank you thank you I'll be waiting my good friend!!!!!
Wben a chord is named without a modifying quality (such as minor, 7th, etc.) it's assumed to be a major chord, made up of the root, third, and fifth. So a G major chord is often simply called a G chord. They're the same thing.
Finally! A video that explains the intro arpeggio picking pattern of Behind Blue Eyes. Thanks a ton.
Nobody knows what it’s like.. to be as bad as me at guitar
I do!
Behind those sweaty palms
Yes I do....and I blame you
Without doubt the finest guitar tutor available i've ever found.Long may he prosper.

I like the original The Who and the version of Limp Bizkit!
Lucas Caetano i thought the original was Limp Bizkit...good song
ApolloRiff911 Limp Bizkit couldn't write a song that meaningful
Thanks for posting this. I picked out this on my own a couple of months ago using a tab sheet. but it's great to see it played out.
But is this just my impression, or in the version remade by Limp Bizkit, the initial arpeggio is slightly different?
If you could do a tutorial of So Lonely by The Police that would be awesome!
Nicely done can see you play the chords good at the intro which helps
Your awesome man, thanks!!
Can u do Funk 49- really cool song and a sick riff.
Toby Burgess didnt slash do a version of that song way back when?

I would give advice, but this comment is 2 years old, so you're probably way past chord transitions now

FWIW, I prefer to alternate pick the arpeggiated parts...
Anyone know any exercises for building up picking speed
Play it slowly with metronome. The speed will come naturally
Why don’t you explain the strumming pattern?!
the stage AX7
Lost me with the first picks. Isn’t it an E chord?
I just finger pick it the intro and improv it. Sounds close enough
