  • After the group stage the real tournament starts now with the knockout stage. From now on, every game is like a final. Spain was the only team that won all three games in group stage so they have become one of the favorites to win the tournament, but never underestimate the Germans... England is dreaming to win the trophy in their own country but Croatia in their first tournament ever will be a tough opponent. Eastern European greats Hagi and Stojkovic meet in ROM-YUG. After poor performances in the group stage Italy has to do better to beat Russia. Norway surprisingly won their group and face Belgium that just qualified as one of the best 3rd placed teams. Portugal wants revenge for their loss in Euro 1984 semifinals. This time France does not have Platini, but Zidane and Djorkaeff... Wales was maybe the biggest surprise of all. The game against 1992 champions Denmark is 50:50. Netherlands and Bulgaria showed some of the best attacking football so far, but to qualify for the quarterfinals they will need to improve their defense. See all eight games here!

Wow a lot of shocks in this episode! Germany and Italy after their slow start in the group stages are suddenly the absolute favorites to win the tournament. That's why they are such powerhouses in World football. England will now face the fury of their tabloids. Wales continue their fairytale campaign, almost ruined by Peter Schmeichel excellent goalkeeping but in the end they got the job done. What a great play in Jordi Cruyff's goal for Netherlands. What a pitty they are out. Portugal is looking great after that win against France and Croatia as well. Will the shocks continue? Who knows. Congrats on the series again my friend
