Meryl is hilarious in this. She puts on this classy persona but she is losing it w/ bob who starts cheating his out of control kids & her trashy mom living w/ her it's great when the mask slips & she gets pissed.

"‘ The spring of life ’is a metaphor for youth" In this sense, the entire chapter in the laundry room expresses what many housewives, even in romance novels, must do in their radiant lives. She herself is a metaphor that even in her role as a writer of romance novels, she can also be a woman who does the laundry. Kitchen. Take care of the children. Etc. In short, she has identified more with the present, putting aside the unreality of her novels a bit. Thanks

Couldn't Mary just brainstorm with Paula on revisions to her book and make the needed revisions so the book wouldn't flop? It would have been better than her just storming out and not heeding Paula's advice.

Haha...fans are indeed "fickle" and Meryl lost some real life ones after her anti-Trump speech. She gave an awesome performance in this movie, but maybe it was especially realistic because the character was so similar to the real Meryl.
