    Hi Bileap! This video is a great help for learning how to make things audio reactive. I want to make a group of particles that start of in a shape of a circle, which later disperse, and then regenerate into a shape of a circle again, with the whole motion being audio reactive (disperses and regenerates on beat/every two beats). I also want them to switch positions each time. Which command should I apply to the amplitude of the noise CHOP for it to happen, and for switching the positions, should I do that on limit or on geo?
    Here's the map for it so far:
    Circle-->Noise on top, sop to on bottom-->both connected to math-->limit (CHOP: math1)-->geo-->render
    Camera is on limit and render.

  • @volantknave
    @volantknave 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Really nice overview!
    At 11:53, you make a null CHOP with just a click, seemingly without opening the operator menu... How!? :D
    Edit: Googled a bit more and found it! Alt+N on the active node

    If you turn on derivative slope / on noise output, you get a crispy colored fractal and if you want to make it mono, then change res to 32bit mono

    Hi Bileam! Been loving your tutorials and have learnt so much on TD the past few months :)
    Very quick question: Is it possible to trigger audio with a RealSense camera and motion detection? I'm currently making an installation and am super stuck atm!

    • @elekktronaut
      @elekktronaut  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @teleclipse8489

      @@elekktronaut I’m attempting to trigger an audio file using motion-sensing with a RealSense camera.
      I have an interactive particle installation where the particles follow the user’s hands as they move.
      I was hoping to incorporate an audio file to be triggered with the user’s movements as well!
      Is this possible to do? Sorry if that was a confusing description!

    have you done a video on audio reacting to particles that are affected by a kinect?

  • @malekarous
    @malekarous 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    i have a question:
    i want to make the particles react to the loudness and speed of the audio, is it possible in touchdesign to call out a variable that stores this information and use it to manipulate the movement of the particles depending on the the value of the loudness of the audio, like making the particles generate in wider space as the audio loudness increase.

    Hey, so just a question about the Envelope normalizing technique, im finding that even when there is no audio im getting values when utilizing the envelope and math normalization, which can cause issues with electronic music and "breaks",
    if i trail the analyaze before it goes into the "normalizier" it stays at 0 as expcected.
    im not sure if im doing it wrong although its super striaghtforward so maybe im just misunderstanding something, but would love to still use this technique, or use a diffrent "automatic" normalizing one.
    Love your channel brother, thank you so much!

    I'm so close witht his tutorial but I can't get the scaling correct. I'm getting such a low value output and when I use maths multiplyer to scale it up thats screwing things up. Is there a stable way to just boot the "gain" on the signal to convert to a better trigger threshhold?

    Hi! Thank you! I've been trying it out with replacing Audio File In with Osc In (over max msp) but it's not working so good with Osc In as with Audio File In - I was using it for making video audio responsive. Is it because the osc in messages are a bit lagged and too much to process when making a video audio responsive? The Osc In is working fine when I am doing it with noise but not with a video.

    If i drag the null (circlepos) on the radius or transition, i get an error: "float argument must be a string or a number, not 'td.nullCHOP'". I rewatched the Video 10 Times but i dont find a mistake. I also get the same output. What am i doing wrong? Would be nice, if you could help me with that.

    • @elekktronaut

      Don't drag the null. Make the null active by either selecting it and pressing "a" on your keyboard or just the little star like symbol on the bottom right of the op and then drag the channel onto the parameter
