thanks a lot, it was soooo helpful!!!! also, thanks for bringing references of artists throughout the history of audiovisual/design, it just makes me realize how much interesting stuff there are out there that i dont know about yet!
Awesome video, subscribed! Just getting into TouchDesigner and these types of videos are super helpful to get a feel for how to set up mappings/routings!
Wow , so theoretical tutorial about feedback .... I wanna learn like this , learning logic of every operator Thanks for sharing your knowledge. ,i appreciate it man 🎉
hey bro! I'm happy to see the quality of ur tutorials getting better & better. I especially like those little artist tips u inserted between the chapters. Nice work
amazing videos, thank you! one note though - the background music is quite repetitive, it would be easier to focus on the amazing tutorial with no music or something more ambient :)
Hey! Thanks for the tutorial. When I get to the step to change the scale in Transform - my output creates a "cat eye" type slit, instead of a shrinking circle...any idea what I've missed?
thank you for this great tutorial! i am wondering how do you get it so you can see your output on the side of your screen? the only way i can see mine is by going to a full screen window of it. thanks again!
This will get you a similar 4 second loop of the color changing circle with trail: Make a new comp (1920x1080), duration of 4 seconds, 60fps Create a black background by either making a solid (command + y), or making a shape layer with a black rectangle that covers the span of the comp Create a new shape layer with a circle, and center the circle in comp. Create some keyframes on the circle’s fill color (so there is a new color every ½ second, for example), and have the final keyframe color at the end frame be the same as the starting color on frame 1 (so it loops) Add a transform effect and add some keyframes to the scale property. Start at 100%, 1 second 0%, 2 seconds 100%, 3 seconds 0%, 4 seconds 100% (to create a loop) Add a second transform effect to the circle shape layer, translate circle away from center (200px to the right, for example) On frame 1 of the comp, create a keyframe on this second rotation property of the transform effect On last keyframe of comp, create a keyframe that creates one full revolution (1x +0.0 degrees). The circle will now make one full revolution around the center point of the comp in 4 seconds Add a Gaussian blur effect, uncheck maintain comp edges (not the exact wording, not at my computer). Dial in some blur to soften the edge of the circle (maybe 10-20?) Add an echo effect. Change the blend mode to maximum, or blend. Change the delay time to somewhere between -.02 and -.05. Number of echoes around 30, and decay between .6 and .9. Will have to play with it. You could also add a second Gaussian blur effect now to further soften the edges. Hope that helps, lengthy directions but really not that complicated once you set it up! By using transform effects on the layer, you still have the ability to use the layer’s native transform properties (position, scale, rotation) freely. You could do the same thing with a precomp, but in the event you want to composite/layer this method ends up being less CPU intensive as it’d be pulling from one instance of the echo FX chain.

Ciao from Italy, many thanks for your tutorials. This feedback is really explanatory and super comprehensive. Wow. Thanks again.

Love the retro moments
Thanks! this will be a think in my tuts

Thanks! I think there are many more artists worth highlighting. I'm considering adding more info in the video description.

Hey man, this is awesome! I'm so glad to hear that my videos are helping a lot. Hope to see you more active on the channel!

Ok it could be possible except with the null operator (¬_¬;)

thanks marcell you've been here since day one! yes this little retro momnets was very fun to make
Wow i've just found , this tutorial have been just posted 😮 i am lucky to see it very soon... Where are you untill now man??😄
It was great tutorial
Hi Arshi, thanks for your comment, I was just mastering the art of procrastination now i am here to make the best tutorials i can make
Love the breakdown!
Thanks! It took quite a bit of effort to edit it, but it was totally worth it.
Best tutorial ever!
Thaaaanks!!! and i will do better over time (=^・ェ・^=)
amazing videos, thank you! one note though - the background music is quite repetitive, it would be easier to focus on the amazing tutorial with no music or something more ambient :)
got it, man. now that I think about it i should go with something more ambient so the music doesn't distract. Thanks for the tip.
@@OkamirufuV i loved the background music, was a blast
Respect 🙏
Thanks!
Hey! Thanks for the tutorial. When I get to the step to change the scale in Transform - my output creates a "cat eye" type slit, instead of a shrinking circle...any idea what I've missed?
It's possible that you scaled only the Y-axis and left out the X-axis.
@OkamirufuV nailed it. Thanks!
I liked your music, great track!
Thanks !!!!
awesome! keep them coming!
thanks!!! 4sure

Hi man thanks for the comment, i show you this in my last tutorial, What is Noise
The whole lecture is so sleek. You just killed 70% of college classes with 15 minutes.
Haha thanks mate, 70% is crazy, and I feel like I'm only giving 20% so far. I just hope I can quit my two jobs soon to dedicate myself to this 100%.
nice share, may I askIs there any place where I can download a beginner's template?
Hi you can find a lot of stuff on my patreon account
Thank you

Maybe you watched to early
i have no idea how im following every step like a dummy and still cant get the same result of each step
Haha its funny, BTW the new tutorials have a different approach
this is worth more than my 5 years at uni lol
That's by far the best and most motivating comment I've received lately! I hope I keep helping others shave off more years of uni , haha!
Is this audio AI generated?
Hey yes!, i am using this okamirufu.link/eleven_labs

how to do this in AE
Mmm, good question. But now I am completely focused on a real-time approach, which is why I exclusively use touchdesigner
Try the echo function
This will get you a similar 4 second loop of the color changing circle with trail:
Make a new comp (1920x1080), duration of 4 seconds, 60fps
Create a black background by either making a solid (command + y), or making a shape layer with a black rectangle that covers the span of the comp
Create a new shape layer with a circle, and center the circle in comp.
Create some keyframes on the circle’s fill color (so there is a new color every ½ second, for example), and have the final keyframe color at the end frame be the same as the starting color on frame 1 (so it loops)
Add a transform effect and add some keyframes to the scale property. Start at 100%, 1 second 0%, 2 seconds 100%, 3 seconds 0%, 4 seconds 100% (to create a loop)
Add a second transform effect to the circle shape layer, translate circle away from center (200px to the right, for example)
On frame 1 of the comp, create a keyframe on this second rotation property of the transform effect
On last keyframe of comp, create a keyframe that creates one full revolution (1x +0.0 degrees). The circle will now make one full revolution around the center point of the comp in 4 seconds
Add a Gaussian blur effect, uncheck maintain comp edges (not the exact wording, not at my computer). Dial in some blur to soften the edge of the circle (maybe 10-20?)
