A few more positives of KSRTC in my opinion .... 1.The dressing and the presentability of the crew. 2. The punctuality. 3. User friendliness with respect to the departure details, platform nos etc. 4. Most importantly the quality of the places they stop inbetween for food/restrooms. The stopover food joints of SETC/TNSTC are of very low quality compared to KSRTC.
It's a very honest review sir I highly appreciate you. Unfortunately, two of their organizations, BMTC(Bangalore) and KKRTC( Kalyana Karnataka Region) have gone into loss as a result of corruption since the past few years. Coming to the maintanence of TNSTC, these days it is quite good but for most of the buses they have removed the second wiper on the conductor side, I heard that they will keep the conductor side wiper as a spare unit in case the other wiper breaks. I don't know why they have such absurd rules but if we see overall, it is quite good.

I am from tamilnadu ksrtc and nwkrtc are good in quality and how the operators deal with passengers is also good. Even ksrtc rajahamsa executive is good with affordable price. There are no advertisements or political influences inside the bus. There are no unnecessary stops like going inside each town for getting additional passengers. Tamilnadu buses were really good when we had ttc and jjtc. Since setc and tnstc the buses are given into the hands of conductors who expect commission. They stop each and every town to pick passengers so the point to point experience is killed. Also they stop for breaks in annoying places with loud music or toilet smells. Top speed of tnstc is 80-90 . However the price is affordable for setc and tnstc. Old setc buses are still comfortable and gives secure ride. Another problem with setc or tnstc is that there is leakage when we drive in rainy season. Also the windows automatically open during the drive and we need to keep them shut every 15 to 20 minutes..
Why tnstc/setc is running on loss though tamil nadu govt picking low cost buses like AL and Tata as you said in an another video. KSRTC has more luxury/speed/maintanence but they are in profit every year. In my opinion we have to appreciate ksrtc for maintaining their standard and also for profit. Yes it was launched in the year 2007. It failed because of under powered AL 12M chassis with 160hp engine and 6 speed gearbox. This engine was a Heavy-Turbo Charged version of their regular 120hp normal aspirated engine and the heavy turbo would kick in only at high engine RPM. It was grossly underpowered to run a direct AC compressor unit with 52 passengers in 2x3 configuration. I have travelled in these buses from Bangalore to Mysore and Bangalore to Hubli, the bus really struggled to keep up with other buses on the road
Big drawbacks of KSRTC: 1. VERY COSTLY Ordinary bus fare = pvt bus sleeper fare. 2. I always commute through private sleeper buses due to high bus fares here in KSRTC Bangalore.

The no of routes operated and bus frequency by tnstc is way beyond that KSRTC. Even after 10pm you will definitely get a bus in tnstc whereas in KSRTC you will not get. Have travelled from comibatore and Kumbakonam by route bus at night taking multiple buses. KSRTC also does contract services especially to melmarvathur from different parts of karnataka.

bro much appreciated about the comparison of state transport between two A class cities. However we do have good sarige and gramanthara sarige which travels to the most remotest part of the state and district. Which has got 2 X 3 buses which is good. BMTC ( Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) buses are too good when compared to TNSTC ( mangara perundhu ) are not that good. This i am saying because i had good bad and worse experience while travelling in TNSTC. i am from chennai though but working in Bangalore.
Sir one mistake of KSRTC is that they have purchased too many Volvo buses. Volvo is international model but for Indian conditions it is not at all suited as you had said in another video. And regarding varieties you are absolutely correct as in the current generation( BS4 buses), for town and village service they have red colour buses ( all divisions except Salem and Villupuram have it) and for intercity, they have 3*2 blue colour mofussil. There should really be more variety as we cannot use the same red deluxe bus in both village and city service.

Bro i really appreciate your comparison but few things i would like to highlight 1. Ksrtc 2×3 ac buses was first corporation to run some where in 2005 or 2006 service as sheetal. 2. Setc current fare is almost same as ksrtc still they provide volvo scania and Mercedes-Benz 3. They have ATAl Sarige a low fare buses 4. There Pushpak city buses they were semi luxury buses operated from 1995 to 2015. Kindly have a look into few more positives in ksrtc as well

Some months ago, TN govt increased fares of SETC and TNSTC. Now there's not much difference between KSRTC and TNSTC fares. But there is an important point we should note. Interstate ticket fare(Tamilnadu-Benguluru route) of SETC/TNSTC is high compared to Intra-state routes (within Tamilnadu). thats why Bengaluru-Tiruvannamalai Fare is high for SETC/TNSTC
Vacancies must and should be Created in all the Government Departments. Create Jobs. Fares are Nothing. No sex discriminations in KSRTC and BMTC. No Government Departments will run on loss, there is Corruption.

Though the state transport corporation in tamilnadu started in1972 prior to that also government bus service was in operation by tamilnadu state transport department. These buses are mainly operated in Chennai, Nilgiris and Kanyakumari districts. Also state transport department operated long distance express buses and inter state services also. When the state transport corporation was formed the services operated by the transport department amalgamated with the corporation. This is FYI.
One other thing which I feel is not right with Tnstc 👇.. Govt should stop writing the names of destinations (in paint) all over , like on the sides of the buses... For example : I see a bus which says "கோவை - அவிநாசி - திருப்பூர்" on the sides, and when I get in , the conductor says that the bus goes to Salem. Therefore , why should they paint the names of places unnecessarily ; instead have a temporary board at the back and front (Either a wooden board or an LED). Disadvantages of this 👇 1) It makes the bus look ugly... 2) Confuses people This is something which ksrtc follows , most of the 'Karnataka Sarige' buses don't have the names of places written all over and the bus looks neat.

Illai.. last Oct, I n my friend went on a tour on the west coast. We had booked only for the first onward and the last return journey. Rest all travel in between we did, were only ad-hoc n almost midnight to late morning. KSRTC sarige buses ply well in plenty in those times also, although not on a high frequency scale like our TNSTC..

KSRTC or SETC which one is better? Better on what parameters? Well I will presume it to be the bus looks, cleanliness, seating and the service. The title of the video and context does not match and often going out of context. Well for the human eyes the bus paint color should be attractive. White, orange, yellow will do this work. If you look at the ksrtc buses of Rajahamsa or Airawat Volvo you will see them in a single color white with necessary graphics to add glamor. If you look at SRS (white and yellow) and Vijayanand buses they are in yellow. These are attractive. While the SETC are in green color strip band and not attractive. The new SETC which is in white is the way to go for and SETC has got it right. The window glass should be white transparent so that there is enough day Light inside the bus plus looks well from outside. Unlike dark glasses or windows with mild sunglasses paper makes the inside of the bus dark and not tidy from outside. Window curtains adds glamor as well. Ads on the bus just above the windows are vague. The seat color should be attractive. KSRTC sarege has sea blue color which is OK plus catches the eyes while a green or black color seat no way attractive. It's like you have no choice but to sit down and travel. Cleanliness inside the bus is taken care in all buses and corporations nothing to comment. Leg space the most important factor. Remember SETC has two doors for passengers while KSRTC has single door either front or at the back makes it look neat from outside. The new SETC white luxury bus has single door at the front that is the way it should be. Driver and conductor appearance. Irrespective of the driver conductor uniform color I would expect them to be in uniform unlike driver driving the bus only with his vests during summer. Conductor seen with red towel on his shoulder and leaning towards the front of the bus and shouting the destination place calling for passengers. Majority of the private operators driver are in white shirt and it suits well. Revenue generated through ads on the bus is very very negligible given the size of transport corporation. Ads are appropriate only for the city buses not for interstate or long distance buses.

I have travelled in all the southern states if feel KSRTC ( Karnataka) is better than other transport,. There crews are also well behaved, TN transport use mostly AL because to cut on inventory ( of course Leyland is always a good brand) . I feel T N transport has to improve on maintenance and even the on line booking has to improve!. This has been my observation but may been others would feel different!

TNSTC had very good buses back in DMK period (ultra deluxe, Volvo in Chennai) .. After jaya time, no long travel bus & no high end quality buses been bought.. All that was green coloured uncomfortable ashok Leyland bus even for long distance travel... On comparing with KSRTC, its not right,, ksrtc has many luxury buses volvo, scania, benz.. But hardly we find those in TN

Yes. But Kerala RTCis a big flop. Due to corruption, it is in great loss and burden for the Government of Kerala. They buses are decently maintained though.
Not sure what you are exactly referring to.....I would have referred to 2-axle coach/B7R/8400 platform. Its cost is less compared to 3-axle(multi axle) coach

2x3 AC bus was launched in ksrtc with the brand name Sheetal many years ago, but not very popular

Yes it was launched in the year 2007. It failed because of under powered AL 12M chassis with 160hp engine and 6 speed gearbox. This engine was a Heavy-Turbo Charged version of their regular 120hp normal aspirated engine and the heavy turbo would kick in only at high engine RPM. It was grossly underpowered to run a direct AC compressor unit with 52 passengers in 2x3 configuration.
I have travelled in these buses from Bangalore to Mysore and Bangalore to Hubli, the bus really struggled to keep up with other buses on the road
Big drawbacks of KSRTC:
1. VERY COSTLY
Ordinary bus fare = pvt bus sleeper fare.
2. I always commute through private sleeper buses due to high bus fares here in KSRTC Bangalore.

The no of routes operated and bus frequency by tnstc is way beyond that KSRTC. Even after 10pm you will definitely get a bus in tnstc whereas in KSRTC you will not get. Have travelled from comibatore and Kumbakonam by route bus at night taking multiple buses. KSRTC also does contract services especially to melmarvathur from different parts of karnataka.
What are even saying KSRTC doesn't offer buses at night ..what a joke .. come and see the buses in Karnataka. If you are judging it by that way I can also say tnstc doesn't any bus during for Karnataka. Your comment is so funny.

bro much appreciated about the comparison of state transport between two A class cities. However we do have good sarige and gramanthara sarige which travels to the most remotest part of the state and district. Which has got 2 X 3 buses which is good. BMTC ( Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) buses are too good when compared to TNSTC ( mangara perundhu ) are not that good.
This i am saying because i had good bad and worse experience while travelling in TNSTC. i am from chennai though but working in Bangalore.
of course no denying these facts on TNSTC. They have to improve on many fronts.

Sir one mistake of KSRTC is that they have purchased too many Volvo buses. Volvo is international model but for Indian conditions it is not at all suited as you had said in another video. And regarding varieties you are absolutely correct as in the current generation( BS4 buses), for town and village service they have red colour buses ( all divisions except Salem and Villupuram have it) and for intercity, they have 3*2 blue colour mofussil. There should really be more variety as we cannot use the same red deluxe bus in both village and city service.

1. Ksrtc 2×3 ac buses was first corporation to run some where in 2005 or 2006 service as sheetal.
2. Setc current fare is almost same as ksrtc still they provide volvo scania and Mercedes-Benz
3. They have ATAl Sarige a low fare buses
4. There Pushpak city buses they were semi luxury buses operated from 1995 to 2015.

Some months ago, TN govt increased fares of SETC and TNSTC. Now there's not much difference between KSRTC and TNSTC fares.
But there is an important point we should note. Interstate ticket fare(Tamilnadu-Benguluru route) of SETC/TNSTC is high compared to Intra-state routes (within Tamilnadu). thats why Bengaluru-Tiruvannamalai Fare is high for SETC/TNSTC

Though the state transport corporation in tamilnadu started in1972 prior to that also government bus service was in operation by tamilnadu state transport department.
These buses are mainly operated in Chennai, Nilgiris and Kanyakumari districts.
Also state transport department operated long distance express buses and inter state services also.
When the state transport corporation was formed the services operated by the transport department amalgamated with the corporation.
This is FYI.
One other thing which I feel is not right with Tnstc 👇..
Govt should stop writing the names of destinations (in paint) all over , like on the sides of the buses...
For example : I see a bus which says "கோவை - அவிநாசி - திருப்பூர்" on the sides, and when I get in , the conductor says that the bus goes to Salem.
Therefore , why should they paint the names of places unnecessarily ; instead have a temporary board at the back and front (Either a wooden board or an LED).
Disadvantages of this 👇
1) It makes the bus look ugly...
2) Confuses people
This is something which ksrtc follows , most of the 'Karnataka Sarige' buses don't have the names of places written all over and the bus looks neat.

Illai.. last Oct, I n my friend went on a tour on the west coast. We had booked only for the first onward and the last return journey. Rest all travel in between we did, were only ad-hoc n almost midnight to late morning. KSRTC sarige buses ply well in plenty in those times also, although not on a high frequency scale like our TNSTC..

KSRTC or SETC which one is better?
Better on what parameters?
Well I will presume it to be the bus looks, cleanliness, seating and the service.
The title of the video and context does not match and often going out of context.
Well for the human eyes the bus paint color should be attractive. White, orange, yellow will do this work.
If you look at the ksrtc buses of Rajahamsa or Airawat Volvo you will see them in a single color white with necessary graphics to add glamor. If you look at SRS (white and yellow) and Vijayanand buses they are in yellow. These are attractive. While the SETC are in green color strip band and not attractive. The new SETC which is in white is the way to go for and SETC has got it right.
The window glass should be white transparent so that there is enough day Light inside the bus plus looks well from outside. Unlike dark glasses or windows with mild sunglasses paper makes the inside of the bus dark and not tidy from outside. Window curtains adds glamor as well. Ads on the bus just above the windows are vague.
The seat color should be attractive. KSRTC sarege has sea blue color which is OK plus catches the eyes while a green or black color seat no way attractive. It's like you have no choice but to sit down and travel.
Cleanliness inside the bus is taken care in all buses and corporations nothing to comment.
Leg space the most important factor. Remember SETC has two doors for passengers while KSRTC has single door either front or at the back makes it look neat from outside. The new SETC white luxury bus has single door at the front that is the way it should be.
Driver and conductor appearance. Irrespective of the driver conductor uniform color I would expect them to be in uniform unlike driver driving the bus only with his vests during summer. Conductor seen with red towel on his shoulder and leaning towards the front of the bus and shouting the destination place calling for passengers. Majority of the private operators driver are in white shirt and it suits well.
Revenue generated through ads on the bus is very very negligible given the size of transport corporation. Ads are appropriate only for the city buses not for interstate or long distance buses.
1. VERY COSTLY
KSRTC Ordinary bus fare = Private sleeper bus fare.
KSRTC Deluxe fare = Other state corp' volvo fare.
KSRTC Volvo fare = flight fare.

I have travelled in all the southern states if feel KSRTC ( Karnataka) is better than other transport,. There crews are also well behaved, TN transport use mostly AL because to cut on inventory ( of course Leyland is always a good brand) . I feel T N transport has to improve on maintenance and even the on line booking has to improve!. This has been my observation but may been others would feel different!

TNSTC had very good buses back in DMK period (ultra deluxe, Volvo in Chennai) .. After jaya time, no long travel bus & no high end quality buses been bought.. All that was green coloured uncomfortable ashok Leyland bus even for long distance travel...

Yes. But Kerala RTCis a big flop. Due to corruption, it is in great loss and burden for the Government of Kerala. They buses are decently maintained though.
