I'm moving to an apartment to start college in a week. I've been listening to this band since a freshmen. I'm gonna miss my city, and I'm scared to grow up. I'm gonna miss everyone and everything.
Hey man I totally understand. I'm a senior myself, and college is a scary thing coming fast. Music grounds me. :) I'd love to hear your story sometime.
A friend burned a copy of this album for me back in 2002. He wrote a note on the disc that said "if you like me, buy me". I fell in love with the album and promptly purchased it and Fallow online. Somehow, the Best Buy in my hometown was carrying Reconstruction Site the day it came out in August 2003 and I got the opportunity to see The Weakerthans play live about a month later in September 2003 at The Gypsy Tea Room in Dallas. Still one of my favorite concerts and favorite bands, along with Pedro the Lion/David Bazan, who John K. Samson has said that he is a fan of in interviews.
I Love this band so goddamn much. I love music but this one will always be my favorite. although john K's solo work is also amaizing Can't wait to see him with the provincial band in march in edmonton.
What an odd choice for an album opener. Great song but usually slow ballads are place in the middle of an album and a faster, punchy track is chosen to open an album.
any song on left and leaving in general has the ability to make me tear up.
Me too, dude.
Me too

Thank you for those who "got" this jewel of a band! Better than anything out there now!

Thank you for the music and farewell, Weakerthans. :/
John K. Samson is the Bard of Winnipeg; he's a poetic cartographer, making maps of this city's soul.
Such a wonderful melancholy in this song :)
The anthem for those looking for love lost or not yet found.

the breakdown is beautimous
Calm up, Calm sideways, calm diagonal!
11 people who disliked just got the feels way too hard when listening
Buffer wheel if you ever interupt this song right in the middle I will cut you
Good tune 😃
The Intro is so much better in this version =)
An manchen Tagen das beste Album aller Zeiten. An anderen Tagen lediglich die Nummer zwei - hinter "Reconstruction Site"... ;)
@LTtutorials spoken like a true Weakerthans fan
@Clammysosa Imo it's the best album ever produced.
It would be funny if he shoved a log up and then immediately offered to help him remove it.
Prescott Matthews
I always thought Canadiens were a polite folk. Granted I don't know where he resides.
calm down, dude.
