I see optimistic approach in Junaid' analysis, such educational and informative videos should be made along with policy suggestions for government. Government should also encourage independent researchers and institutional researchers, and work with them hand in hand to improve policymaking. Thanks 👍🏼
TBH, I have to paused the video flow to appreciate the Level of hardwork has been done for making this wonderfull video and time spend on the research... Really Appreciate it, Keep Making these type of videos to educate us.. Thank you again..
The main cause of every inefficiency in Pakistan is the lack of education and literate individuals with critical thinking skills. You sir, are paving the way to overcome this problem, so hats off to you.
Of course, zero ownership and poor management. I must say, I am truly impressed by how you have researched the topic. we would appreciate, if you could also share how and where we can dive into these stats and help our country in our own capacity.
Great video! The graphics were excellent! To address the question, I believe that transmission is one of the main issues. I come from Gilgit Baltistan, where we experience severe electricity shortages in the winter. Although the country produces more electricity than it needs, it cannot be transmitted to Gilgit Baltistan due to a lack of transmission lines.
One of the best channels I saw that are flooded with quality information. Mr. Junaid it's nice to see you back. I saw 4,5 videos of your channel a month back and then you stopped posting. I want you and request you to post such informational content routinely. I pray that you become the Pakistan's #1 youtuber in 1-2 years. You are creating best quality content that can compete with international youtubers in this informational content domain. Very simple and nice explanation. Thanks a lot for such content.
They way you ahve summed up, i think the major fault is in Distribution and then Transmission. I think they need to upgrade infrastructure and improve the distribution before investing in new generation plants.
please create a video on natural resources . it is most debatable topic in pakistan. many people say goverment steal thier natural resourse and invest in punjab .
Good presentation for pubilc awareness. Answer to your question is to bringing improvements in all three areas. 1- Generation 2 - Transmission / NTDC and 3 - DISCO's. Over the decade Pakistan has done very well to create a fuel mix. Previously we were largely depended on furnace oil. On generation side problem is government managed plants like Nandipur and others. They have increased our generation cost substantially. Most IPP's are run efficiently and are National Assets setup at strategic locations. Our Industry is not interested in consuming power from Discos due to unreliable grid and high cost. It is a long debate and hard work to implement a solution. In conclusion dedication and honesty is required to come out of this challenge.

How is it possible that the renewable production decreased in your data analysis from year 2021 =6 % to year 2024= 4%. On the other hand there is significant increase in the use of Solar systems during that time.
According to my opinions, Single seller model or monopoly which is created by State is a major issue behind all these crisis. Moreover, Autocratic Ruler groups, and all the communities who are exempted from paying the bills are burden on marginalized communities. These unfair practices should be avoid, improves the transmission system from South, need to revise the agreements with independent power producers. Last and foremost, Nation with Politicians should be committed in the development and growth of Dams, to produce Sustainble Energy to conserve environment.
great to see such content..apprciate you guys for sharing such valuable insights.. There are multiple factors to consider. As you already explained, T&D losses are a concern, but I don't think they are a significant issue, these losses are a manageable cost. What truly matters is the poor maintenance of the infrastructure. Moreover, other contributing factors could include inefficient revenue collection, poorly negotiated contracts with IPPs, and corruption, such as electricity theft and bribery.
Jazakallah, very informative and easy to understand with visuals, thank you. i think generation is the key reason for expensive electricity maybe because government has over committed contracts and have to pay foreign investors, please correct me if i am wrong.
There should be free market for Electicity buyers and Sellers and let the market decide the rate but this will need a revamp of current transmission infrastructure.
Problem is the gross neglecence in increasing capacity. Type of rlng plagns for example are stateof the art, which means very expansive o&m, huge reliance on OEM. Where as there are models of same OEM with very competitive third party contractors. Imported coal plant in sahiwal, is useless to sy the lesst, why would to increase ligistics and costs? Thar coal plants with very lucrative irr, but gross negligencr in securing transmission. Gross neglegence in not increasing hydel capacity, because 3/7 workds biggest glaciers are in north of pakistan every day tonns of water flowing in to see. And and and….

The sole reason why electricity is pricey here is due to policies like slab system and peak hour system. I dont get the logic behind why have we kept these policies when we already have generation capacity beyond our demand?
i think its good to to pay bills for rich who stole because many people have no issue to pay their bills .if they have issues they can challenge .they are happy to live worstly other than todie gracefully

AOA
Sir I want to meet with you please told how to reach you sir i am very impressive with you please sir
Generation is definitely not the main issue, from what I believe it is, well first poor strategy and infrastructure, and poor management.
main reason is politically polluted IGCEP, TSEP, DISCOS recovery .
Single seller model and single buyer market is the main reason
Distribution
Transmission and mismanagement is main causes of expensive electricity (in my opinion)
corruption and distribution losses
The sole reason why electricity is pricey here is due to policies like slab system and peak hour system. I dont get the logic behind why have we kept these policies when we already have generation capacity beyond our demand?
i think its good to to pay bills for rich who stole because many people have no issue to pay their bills .if they have issues they can challenge .they are happy to live worstly other than todie gracefully
Distribution and government monopoly
Generation, IPPS contracts to buy electricity, llbad transmission, are the key factors of expensive electricity in Pakistan
Reason is Government policies.
Thank you, Sir.
Great job! Pakistani people should be aware of all these facts.
there is a significant lack of financial literacy.
Mainy to apny 2 sal ki saving Solar pr lga d bas ab sakoon ha.
The reason of high cost of electricity in Pk is baygairty and constant Emaan say duri.
Lack of investment in transmission sector
And huge line losses and power thefts in KPK and Balochistan.
distribution
