They rarely play this song for respectful reasons, even though it is one of their most popular songs. I respect that, but whenever they do play this song, they make it the very best they can
I don't get why they can't play this more. I understand that it is painfull to talk about, but the song of Sabaton only mean to let people remember what happend in the war and that we must never forget like the holocaust. Sabaton you go al the way!! People that read this please don't get me wrong this is my opinion. I hope you guys all have a great day where ever you are and who ever you are. Have respect for everyone around you!
this is one of their best songs (my opinion) but for a lot of people this song is to controversial or its to painfull but I think they should listen good to the lyrics sabaton make very good music about the war yes not only holocoust but about every war around the hole world in every time but the holocoust did infected the most people in the world even this day I agread with your opinion this song I never heard it enough but that counts for almost every sabaton song
mass slaughtering innocent civilians based on their religion, skin tone or disability like being in a wheelchair is not enough to make it worse than the war?
hoo fucking rah. Do u not also think it belongs as a permanent member on their setlist? I've never heard of them playing it before I found this video last week.
By 2012, we would be seeing Sabaton with a new lineup. This happened to be one of the last time we'll see Mullback, Myrh, Oskar and Rikard performing with Sabaton.
+UnknownPerson onGoogle I closed my eyes and dreamt of battle (as I do with any music). I guess, I have a twisted form of humanity then, as battle makes my eyes watery as well. but more for the grandeur than the suffering.
Milton D, heh. Had you cryed in your childhood, when you listened fairy tails from your parents? Not, you hadn't? So why we must cry from this fairy tail now? :D
I must say that the version with Tommy Johansson, playing the keyboard, it sounds better to me. Unbelievable the guts of this band, conveying an infinite emotion for the TERROR that happened back then.
There's no reason for this to be more serious than their other songs, I think. The Holocaust, while horrible, is nowhere near as terrible as either of the world wars.
+Erik Bergström Did you just forget Dresden, Stalingrad, London, etc.? All the millions of civilian casualties those and plenty more bombings and battles caused?
The way they did it plays a role as well I think. Not too long ago I visited a concentration camp (Buchenwald) for the first time ever. And there was the so called "Genickschussanlage". You would make people believe they are undergoing a medical checkup. They were led through heavy doors that don´t let the sound of the shot through, they also play loud music in addition to that. Then the "patient" is in a room, awfully similar to the one from a doctor with all the things they also have, then someone comes in and checks their mouth to look for something they can take out after killing them, their "patients" in believe that this is nothing but a checkup. After they are led into a side room with the excuse to measure their heights, they are put against a wall, the "doctor" knocks on the wall and one hole opens in the wall through which the shot comes. The floor is even red to hide the blood. And this systemitical murder is just, as you said, horrible, so I think it is justified to put it a little bit higher than other casualties.
neilerator Do you know how many starved and froze to death on the Eastern Front? Do you know how many bled out on D-Day? Do you know how many had their limbs blown off? Do you know how many spent minutes plummeting to their death tangled in ripped parachutes only to basically explode on the ground? Do you know how many were burned alive? Do you know how many spent days in agony from infected wounds basically rotting alive? The war was much worse than the Holocaust and there are plenty of soldiers who'd have much preferred to be shot and that's that, rather than face what turned out to be their fate. Plenty of civilians still died in the war, unrelated to the Holocaust. Bombed houses, executed under suspicion of being enemy partisans, raped and killed for "revenge" or fun.

Who knew a metal song could make me cry.

@punisherfan Because you aren't supposed to go out of your way to kill civilians
mass slaughtering innocent civilians based on their religion, skin tone or disability like being in a wheelchair is not enough to make it worse than the war?

Great filming, the sound is pretty good for a lumix!
Great song too, dedicated to all who died by nazi's repression. Long live Sabaton!

+Erik Bergström don't forget it was backed by severe hate and brainwashing

The Cloud Escolar Also true. The ideal of the slaughter definitely adds to the horrificness (?) of it all.
