      @@alexd1559 I believe the technicality comes from boxing, kickboxing, and mma having various amounts of rule sets that change which techniques are effective, thus not really being a specific style. Actually Lethwei (head bang crazy) would be classified as a style of kickboxing. Though it's really just a useless technicality, and barely applies to boxing anymore.

      @@alexd1559 What I'm saying is that technically kickboxing is a broader term and would include quite a few styles. Savat, Sanda, Muay Thai, and Lethwei are types of kickboxing, just with different rule sets. Each of these is, however, a very specific martial art with its own set of techniques. Most people refer to American kickboxing when they say kickboxing though, so again, the technicality is useless and just a waste of time lol.

However I get where the negative stereotypes comes from. Bad "Instructors" who care more about money and not the art. Bad "practitioners" who care about rank and not knowledge, skill or discipline. They give WT Taekwondo, the great practitioners and Instructors of this style a bad reputation.

      I have to say this. Depending where you go. My daughter takes Taekwando since she was 5. She’s now 11 getting ready for her blue belt. She has technically three more belts for black but in this school they stay longer so it’s blue, “high blue” , red ,”high red” or brown junior black belt then black. So it will take at least another 4 years of diligence to get black. She started at 5 she’s now 10 she’ll be black at around 14 or 15 years old. So that’s 10
      Years at this going 3 times a week and not 3 years!! Although I heard at some places they “give” black belts away and yes you do have to. Be careful what school you go to!! 😉

It frustrates me because she’s taking long but as people say, she’s “learning and keeping it more” than just going by fast! To be fair some are faster because they’re good but mostly in the forms. If you know the cultural flow of East Asia, there is no way Taekwondo was derived from Karate. In East Asia, culture always goes from China to Korea, and then Japan. If you think about it, this is natural given that Japan is an island, isolated from mainland Asia, and was always last to receive technology. This is the same for architecture, politics, economy, and everything-until the Meiji restoration (late 1800s) that put Japan on the world stage.
      Karate was heavily influenced by Taekwondo. Granted, Taekwondo was standardized later than Karate, but that doesn't mean the art itself is younger.

      I’m going to say boxing and wrestling. Like you said, since we evolved from the apes your first instinct when you had your food stolen is to punch . Even if crazy with no technique, that’s boxing. However since we don’t just stand and throw blows only, the next thing is to grab the opponent while he or she is hitting you and either headlock my head or throw them to the floor and now you have wrestling!! Those two sloppy and no technique everyone can do and it’s the most basic. The technical aspect like grappling jiujitsu came later as we evolved and were able to learn that. But basic primal instincts is to punch and grab someone to throw them down hence boxing and wrestling the two oldest martial arts!!!

    • @kayragur3542
      @kayragur3542 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wrestling is older than boxing,
      Hummans are made to wrestle thats why they dont have all their knuckles hard(you can easily break you hand by punching with the wrong part of the knuckle) while hummans are more efficent for wrestling

    • @emanueletorregrossa4218
      @emanueletorregrossa4218 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kayragur3542
      True but who’s thinking that thousands of years ago? Lol!! We were primitive and we don’t know knuckles break!! It’s all primal instinct and like they say all fights start standing up and boxing would qualify as standup so boxing is technically older!! 😉

    • @kayragur3542
      @kayragur3542 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@emanueletorregrossa4218 wrestling is much more ergonomic for a primitive humman an if you looked at a kid forming a fist you will notice that their fists are perfect to break their own fist(forming a fist is not instictive) but wrestling is compleatly about instinc if you look at street fights it ussualy ends with they holding to each other while trying to throw their opponent to the floor,do you think they learnt to do that?
      Of course not they do that because their instincts say that they should grab each other and push their opponent until the dominant person is standing,thats hummans instics,so its safe to assume that wrestling is the first martial art/fighting style.

      I got mine in 2.5, surprisingly the place I got it at is Kukkiwon certified. It's not much of a martial art as it is a sport honestly, but it is really good at getting a younger audience into the world of martial arts.

    • @chriskelly9476

      3 years is not long enough IMO. I did it in high school and it was on average 3 years for most students just to get to red belt. I never got to black, I lost interest because, well, it wasn't a great school and I only did it cause my parents forced me. I honestly didn't even know it was Korean until well after I'd quit. We counted in Japanese and addressed the teacher at Sensei so I always thought it was Japanese. How odd. I'm going to start again though, at a local joint.
