A great long-term strategy by Daniel Levy. They keep the wage bill down due to an excellent academy/scouting system, turned over a profit in the transfer market and have still came out top 4/champions league finalists. They then invest in building a new stadium to take advantage of a higher capacity and a more modern facility. Spurs just let the other sides chase they short-term dream of trophies, while they invest in the future of the club - while still outperforming many of those sides (Man United, Arsenal, Chelsea).

Spurs has an excellent management and a sustainable transfer-policy. One I feel more clubs in England should strive to adopt. I believe spurs has largely been the club which contributed the most players to the english national team, not all of them was neccesarily homegrown or neccesarily play for them today, but still was largely helped to form under spurs. Kane especially is perhaps the only world class player on the national team, someone who can attract attention from the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona. While I still admire Liverpools transformation, it wasn't cheap. Manchester city can not be criticized for their play, but their achievement was only possible due to their dubious financial practices which has given them the biggest wallet in the league. The pressure on United to reach old heights have forced some expensive, but failed signings. Can you do a video on how injuries have somewhat positively affected Pochettino's tactics? This is based on the observation that certain players have gotten injured at certain intervals of the season which gave more previous unfavoured players opportunity to play and prove themselves. This is also observed in matches where forced substitutions changed games positively for spurs. Classic example involve injuries to Mason allowed spurs to play better with Paulinho and Dembele, later injuries to Dier gave us the Mousa Dembele and Wanyama combination, Then injury to Dembele forced Pochettino to p[lay Sissoko in CM, this has drastically improved Sissoko and tottenham play. Injury to Lamela meant that Son would be played more often which resulted in the deadly quadruple of Kane, Alli, Son and Eriksen. Lucas was given a clear chance once Lamela got injured and Son went on international duty, as you can see that Lucas has become an integral part of the team. There are countless examples of forced substitutions during matches that changed spurs games. There is also the impact of those favoured players returning from injuries and affecting our results negatively because they where not slowly or properly reintroduced, this is not just limited to Kane, it has happened with Dier, Winks and Lamela.
it's hard to say that these things have been beneficial though. who knows what would have happened if dembele or kane hadn't been injured at crucial periods, we could have won a title you never know
@@autonomousthought4106 hi Autonomous, this would be hard to explain but there has been multiple times where Pochettino gets his tactics wrong such as he used to play Lamela ahead of Son and we almost lost Son because of this but Lamela ended up getting injured which insured that Son got his run of games...the same with Lucas although he came with a reputation, Pochettino didn't give a run until some played got injured. The point of my comment is based on the observation that certain injuries has improved Tottenham Hotspurs tactical prowess.
Another example is the CL this season, we all know our 3 at the back with Sanchez does not work well but an injury to Jan forced us to play 2 CB against City which changed the completion of the game, fortunately 2nd leg Sanchez was injured which insured that we play 2 at the back. Fast forward to 2021 & Tottenham have announced pre-tax losses of £80.2m for the financial year ending June 2021, with total debts increasing from £605m to £706m reported by The Guardian
Another thing to note is that Spur’s stadium is an improvement for hosting events on old Trafford in many ways just as much because of its location. London is a far more attractive prospect for promoters than Manchester acts will definitely stop their on world tours as will exhibition sports events it’s easy to imagine teams like Brazil who Clinton’s to play many of their international games in London switching from the emirates to a bigger stadium if one is available
Another thing you are missing out on is the stadium opens earlier and closes later food and drink are being sold at a very high amount not cost wise but unit sales fans are welcome to stay and drink after games and there's plenty of drink as the stadium has its own micro brewery on site so are making more money per pint than most and yet it's only as expensive as most pubs in the area so they are selling more the ground is showing the final live on the big screens with food and drink outlets open with should bring in close to £800,000+ for one night it's definitely paying it's way and the naming rights will amount to around £450m so what with that and the money they saved before planing permission was granted and cl success and Wembley profits the stadium is paid for and more left over
So tottenham can stash a billion quid off their financial statement but arsenal cant hide 7% to make a decent signing and miss out on the top 4. Cedit to spurs on making such a great stadium and making the champions league without a signing. Thats the difference between levy and kroenke
Good old IAS 16 Property, Plant and Equipment helping Spurs spread the cost of the asset and associated fees relating to it, when the asset is readily available for its intended use. Accounting tingz
Good video but the reason the stadium is delayed was because the construction company mace screwed up the wiring for the whole stadium. There will defo be penalty payments due / legal action. Also the champ league money for reaching the final will be around 90mil so surprised you did not mention that. also naming rights for stadium.
Now we have to smash through our current wage structure if we want to compete in the premier league going forward. Poch has stretched it to breaking point in which getting to the CL final is unbelievable. Surely that’s what he alluded to in reason press conferences , he can’t do much else with what he’s got. Hope Levy does the right thing.
You mentioned the annual interest of 25 million on the stadium but they have to pay off the capital cost too relating to the 1.2 billion the stadium cost to build which, by the way, was significantly more than the original estimate.
as much as this is laudable . Continuing this level of success will be a humongous challenge once eriksen, vertongen and alderwierld leave on a free next season. To see if they have quality back up or if they could dip into the market for cheap alternatives will be questionable. If they turn into a feeder club like monaco, they would reach great heights once in 3 seasons eventually to end up strengthening their rivals .As much as this has worked tremendously, they will fall hard if they dont pay their players.
It was a good investment 👍 they have one the latest technologies in Stadium and is really one of the best stadiums . They estimated around 300 M pounds but it costed them more than a billion Pounds so after completion Covid came their audience tickets plus all those canteens everything was empty in Home games . That’s why they didn’t recovered investments so quickly . But the sponsors of Brands and stadium names plus star powers will generate in revenue 👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏽
Daniel Levy is easily the greatest wheeler dealer the wold of football has ever seen . Whether the club will be successful in winning trophies, even with these profits remain to be seen.

@@imconfused1237 Excellently put... and by happy coincidence there is a story in the Tottenham area of regeneration and rebirth, and other cultural elements besides, that is feeding with almost serindipitous synchronicity into the tide that is bringing the NFL into Tottenhams orbit.
_When_ that happens it will be a sight to behold.
Tottenham will then be raiding Real Madrid for _their_ best players. It's that much of a game changer. I kid you not.
Wonder no more - the NFL were directly involved in the design of the stadium. That IS the medium term plan.
Don't won't NFL it a football ground of spurs
@@derekanstey7930 You are mistaken - as I said, the ground was designed with the active involvement of the NFL to ensure it could be the joint home of Spurs and an NFL franchise. Watch this space...
Daniel Levy is shrewd
Could you do an update on this video now that it's 2022, the set date to complete loan payments
This is a very good video, well done !
I think Spurs also gained a handsome amount from merchandising. My husband visited South Korea few weeks ago and he said he can see more people wearing spurs products such as hat and kit, at least three or four times as much as those who wear other clubs' or even the national team's.
yh because Son is from South Korea, it isn't rocket science. Look at how that market fades the moment he leaves the club.
What a fantastic and very easy to follow video!!👍 ⚽️COYS⚽️
Absolutely brilliant brilliant content exceptionally presented
Hey there,
You make really great videos and i hope that you will be able to keep making them, for a long time to come.
I was wondering, would it be possible to also have in the future, videos relating to the financial situation and football/trophy aim, for teams such as Olympique de Marseille, Olympique Lyon, Borussia Dortmund, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Paris Saint Germain, and so on?
Keep up the good work!
Levy is a clever man, the question on all spurs fans minds is...will he be a generous man when it comes to the squad? wages need to be competitive to attract the best talent, and signings ain't cheap. COYS.
This are one of few TH-cam channel that mixed my favourite things and good educational values.....DJ aviation, Chainbear F1 , Business Insider,.... this are all my favourite channel.....and off course.....Tifo Football ......
Fast forward to 2021 & Tottenham have announced pre-tax losses of £80.2m for the financial year ending June 2021, with total debts increasing from £605m to £706m reported by The Guardian
this video was incredible! so well researched
Not spurs fans but their business more than we think, smart managing their transfer and developing their own player
A really awesome video, thank you!
I never thought i would ever hear more complex accounting thought simplified like this. HOW SWAY
Another thing you are missing out on is the stadium opens earlier and closes later food and drink are being sold at a very high amount not cost wise but unit sales fans are welcome to stay and drink after games and there's plenty of drink as the stadium has its own micro brewery on site so are making more money per pint than most and yet it's only as expensive as most pubs in the area so they are selling more the ground is showing the final live on the big screens with food and drink outlets open with should bring in close to £800,000+ for one night it's definitely paying it's way and the naming rights will amount to around £450m so what with that and the money they saved before planing permission was granted and cl success and Wembley profits the stadium is paid for and more left over
Incredible how well that club is run
Great work tifo football
Don’t forget. Depreciation is a non-cash expense. It reduces net income, but not cash
Super didactical, very interesting !!
Chris Wilders Sheffield United tactics? That is a mid table Championship club at best, is how they’ve been promoted is incredible
Nice new mic, mate! Crisp voice gets even cripser. SPUDS
Great video. Good info!
video was very well done nice
excellent video as always
Great to watch learned alot
that was so good and informative!
Corona virus will have screwed this up so much for them!
Nice break down & explanation. Thanks
Very interesting, good stuff thanks
Incredible content
great video. super engaging
I binge watch TIFO . It’s Better, Quality and FREE. 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Thanks for this really informative
Great video
Great video.👍🇺🇸
General long form on how Tottenham went from a mid table team to top 6 would be really nice. Especially as they did it without a super suger daddy.
Can you please do a Club Leon tactics explained from the liga mx. They’ve been really playing beautiful football this league has never seen before.
Great video but who the hell is that guy "present coach" @ 3:19 ? :D
Awesome. Now that’s how you explain to a guy like me so I get it. 👌👌👌
You mentioned the annual interest of 25 million on the stadium but they have to pay off the capital cost too relating to the 1.2 billion the stadium cost to build which, by the way, was significantly more than the original estimate.
Nice vid
Very interesting.Thank you.
As always excellent content from Tifo . College classes 😅
as much as this is laudable .
Amazingly done. Keep it up
Daniel Levy is easily the greatest wheeler dealer the wold of football has ever seen . Whether the club will be successful in winning trophies, even with these profits remain to be seen.
interesting video and well researched
Amazing content. (Chelsea fan )
this was relaxing and interesting
What do you think about the financial issues Spurs will run into due to problems paying off their £1.2B stadium? They aren't getting into the UCL anytime soon to help leverage the debt. Another Leeds?
I am skeptical on the 4% interest for the loans seems way too little from American Banks
brandon imperial actually 4% on £565,000,000 for a club that hasn’t made a loss in 15 years is about right
In the thumbnail the builder looks like David De Gea.
That Eliaquim Mangala drawing xDDDDD 4:43
top quality video
Great job
