They have one _"small"_ problem. While most nations have a wide range of players with different body types, while _(South)_ Korean players, same goes for Japan, have a pretty homogeneous set of players. The central defender often looking just the same as the central forward/striker. I know that they can't just change their genetics and they're doing the best they can to compensate it _(SK and Japan being Asian football powerhouses)_ but it's just a general minus point, that they have to deal with. No one can _"crack the genetic lottery"._ Edit: Are they still having military football clubs? I always loved seeing South Korean players, that are currently doing national military service, were saluting the flag during the national anthem, instead of putting the hand on the heart.
Now that Unreal Engine 5 is out, we're gonna hit the point soon where these virtual architectural models are basically photorealistic. That's wild to think about, that you could essentially visit a planned site in its full form before it physically exists.

Another great video from B1M! I love the design of the new Korean football complex but I think they’re missing some key features such as additional full size and smaller football grounds, a hotel complex (for visitors and visiting football teams), a health centre with facilities for investigations and rehabilitation, restaurant complex focused on traditional Korean dishes, BBQ and healthy diet as well as other holistic training facilities i.e. gyms and swimming pools, parking, travel (bus, train stations, underground). Just my two cents worth. If you’re going to build an international centre then really make it spectacular and innovative.

Whoever made the connection/pitched using Unreal Engine, which started as a video game platform, as an architectural, engineering tool with realized real-world commercial use deserves an incredible raise, and has an absolutely massive, very wrinkly brain.
Anybody who makes environments for video games could make that connection. People have been reproducing real places in video games since video games have been a thing.
This facility reminds me of Salt River Fields at Talking stick in Scottsdale Arizona. A massive sports training facility occupied by two Major league baseball teams The Arizona Diamond Backs and the Colorado Rockies.
I grew up in the 90's playing football in venues similar to these proposed here. We had many fields of different sizes, there was a concession booth and a gravel parking lot. I also played indoor football in an arena converted from a roller-skate/ice-skating rink. We had plenty of room for fans to stand or bring a chair. Also similar, is how good my team was. We were one of the best in our county and even bagged a few 2nd place trophies!!!

The polish appears lacking a bit on this one. Had to go back and rewatch the 450 square meters part to be sure I heard it right (thanks for the correction). Still struggling with "it's not uncommon for training fields to be discovered by accident" - makes it seem like the fields just develop in the wild until someone "discovers" them, complete with lines and lights....
I was also taken aback by that comment. I'm sure they would have rather used a more appropriate word, yet it keep the foreign language/location vibe at a good level!

A nice little architectural link: Dongdaemun Stadium, where the first official Korean football games were played, was eventually demolished to make way for the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (a Zaha Hamid/Samoo build) .
Fantastic set up & brilliant innovations but I'm still waiting to see the actual stadium the players of the national team will play in its a great training complex with great facilities is 5he actual national football stadium elsewhere?
It's cool, but I'm confused about the size of the stadium. Only 1500 seats? Do they have no interest in hosting professional teams? Why put a tiny stadium in the so called "center" of football?
Great video! I'm looking forward to a video content on Germany's Euro2024 cup, tho we dont have anything new to construct like stadiums eheh. Maybe stadium history, or Berlin's Olympic Stadium history :)
Interesting project. Was surprised to see multi lane roads running through the site and a seeming lack of active transport provision and priority, particularly given the Dutch expertise in such things. One would hope a centre for sport excellence, health and well-being promotion could mitigate car addiction better and act as an anchor for wider active transport adoption in the surrounding areas. Will be fascinating to see how it pans out.
You'll need roads for player and supporter buses anyway, light rail is best put underground in places such as these. Also it's easier to use roads to other modes (like walking/partying) than it is to turn/use other use of space into roads.
