Paragliding Mount Pilatus

A nice afternoon/evening flight over mount Pilatus in central Switzerland. Launch is very tricky, wind must be perfect. On this particular day, it was quite calm and no problem to launch. Good reverse launch technique needed (you can see it at the beginning). Fun flight over the beautiful city of Lucerne, then landing in Allmend right next to the Lucerne footbal stadium "Swisspor Arena" and the famous "sky scrapers" of Lucerne. Only my second flight from this beautiful mountain, more to come!

Nice! Why is the launch tricky? I wanted to try it but got stuck in Interlaken :-) Is this landing field always available? Seems like most people land in Kriens. Greetings from San Francisco!

Hey Jan, launch can have rotor, can even be dangerous in wrong wind condition (lee). And it is quite short with no room for mistakes. This is why I consider it to be tricky. Landing in Allmend is nicer after thermalling over Lucerne. Kriens is of course possible as well. Had man great flights this year from this beautiful mountain.....
