    Mark Ricciuto and the Crows spent years denying the reports, pressuring players to not speak out with potential of vilification by both the club & its fans and completely dismissing the clear trauma/ feelings of the players affected. And now ONLY apologies and accepts wrong doing years later after multiple past players have lifted the lid free from the workplace coercion. Disgusting. Needs to step down asap.

    Sending a premiership contender to that camp has to be one of the worst decisions a club has ever made

    Josh and Eddie were already resilient men. They were AFL players that grew up in less than ideal circumstances. The whole team as Eddie said we're closer after Walsh's death, resilience. Did they really need this kind of camp?

    Ricciuto is a great example of a an old school footy head who just doesn’t have the intellectual or emotional IQ to be in a position of power managing young men in the modern game. Every step of the way with this saga his comments have shown himself to be out of his depth, misaligned with the playing group and more interested in protecting his mates and sweeping it all under the carpet than investigating and having the ear of all the players. All his defences have not shown leadership, they’ve just alienated him from the club and highlighted his poor grasp of the whole episode.

    I wonder how much of the decision on the 'need' to do something akin to the camp, was purely based on the fact that they lost a GF? Obviously in retrospect this is easy to say, but losing to that Richmond team was no shameful event. Adelaide were probably the better team throughout that 2017 season, but that Richmond team went on to dominate for years to come. Losing to them in a GF shouldn't have been the catalyst for the camp.

    • @purebloodsunite7489
      @purebloodsunite7489 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes losing the gf broke their brains. I bet this type of camp was pretty typical back in the day like Cornes says, but whatever that time has passed now future gf losers will be reminded to keep their heads by this incident.

    I would of liked this panel to comment on Graham Cornes article like they said they will get too. Cornes stated that he has been involved in tough camps and has heard about camps on the same page as this which never got the attention like this camp. Makes me wonder how many camps have broken playing groups and it all got swept under the rug.

    9:15 they did bring in Indigenous Liason officers after the camp, Eddie Betts mentioned it in one of his interviews

    • @imalwaysright
      @imalwaysright 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They also shut affected and indigenous players out of the leadership group and isolated them, threatened them if they shared what happened (including legal threats) failed to act on doctors reports which detailed the effects of the camp. It was a cover up.

  • @conantonopoulos4361
