Hello Ron, Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Please keep liking and watching!
With the type of foam you are showing, I agree with this video - especially for the use case you show where you need a nice straight line. With that "greasy" softer pink foam at 4-5 inches thick, no way - a hacksaw blade doesn't work much at all - an Electric Bread Knife is the only way to cut that (unless a hot wire station is set up, or maybe if you have a bandsaw but, really, who would use a bandsaw).
Hello Private, I even use a hack saw blade for every foam, even the really squishy aircraft and memory foam. I am glad you have success with an electric bread knife. Please keep liking and watching!
I have always used a hacksaw blade to cut my thicker foams, a very sharp razor knife for the thin stuff. Good Video
Hello Richard, Remember, We Richard's need to stick together! That's the way I do it! No Electric bread knives. Please keep liking and watching!
WOW!! Thank you, that really helps me repair my truck seat!!!

At art school I cut some 5inch soft foam (from an old sofa) into the shape of a skull and crossbones 4inch sq to use an a printing stamp. I used the workshops band saw ,that had a rip cut wood blade, after I was done the technician who didn't spot me was surprised the maching didn't suck the foam into it, looking back I now count my fingers and blessing simultaneously.
I still have that piece of foam.
Hello Crazy, You have to admit, that was pretty crazy! Thanks for sharing an awesome memory! Please keep liking and watching!
You nailed it from the outset when you spoke of the TH-cam phenomenon of people with zero skill or actual real-life experience repeating with authoritative bluster complete crap they've watched from someone else with zero skill or actual real-life experience who themselves watched it from.....etc.
Anyway, I've got some foam to cut for my newly built garden furniture and I can't see how your method could fail to work. I'm going to adopt method #738 as advised. Top notch video and advice from someone who knows their onions!

I know I got this from you in another video. Keep the bread knife in the kitchen as I took a hacksaw blade, 7 inch length of metal electrical conduit, drilled one hole, welded a nut and made little handle on a 1" bolt. Heater hose cushion and flattened bolt end to change blades. Used it 2 days ago and don't get, it's flexible for sculpting. Cost $0.

Hello Engineer, A jigsaw is much heavier and cumbersome, than a hacksaw blade, but go for it! Please keep liking and watching!
Excellent, thanks very much. Hacksaw blades come in, different 'Teeth per inch' I guess this job requires a higher tooth per inch, for a smooth lower resistance ?

Freaking awesome. I was making a custom instrument case (a small ukelele like instrument) and used as tablesaw to cut 3in foam. Nice to know I didn't need that, oh well. Now I know for the next one.

Ok here is a request. Can you do a video about the different foams used for different applications. Layering different densities of foam. Marine vs automotive vs residential vs commercial applications.
Hello Alvarez, I am a working shop serving my customers daily. The videos I make are of actual customer projects. I don't have a spare minute during the day as I am so busy. Maybe someday I will have that customer whom I can make that video. Thank you for the request! Please keep liking and watching!
Im feeling salty today. Its called an electric carving knife. Also you have an extremely firm foam. There is nothing wrong with using a carving knife. There are 30 second videos of the "bread cutter" doing the job. Like i said, im salty this evening. My apologies.
