Absolutely beautiful watch, farasute prices are a tough pill to swallow but in terms of quality they definitely seem to be worth it, ive been tempted by a few of them, especially their moser styled dials
Another very original review of a surprisingly 'original' Chinese design homage to 1920s ta nk watches. Explained very well. Beautiful scenery shots. Thanks, Rio!

@@Make_SPQR_Great_Again The finishing of Grand Seiko is indeed several levels up. That isn't an insult to this watch. I'm sure they are very good for the price. But you can't compare something that gets one-on-one attention from a master in their craft to something that's mass produced. It's apples and oranges, so to speak.

Hey Rio. Another fantastic review of a very cool watch mate! I really love the small seconds subdial and that red seconds hand, but sadly I’m not a fan of the main dial. I won’t buy a watch where the minute hand doesn’t touch the minute markers. I know, it sounds silly but that’s just a pet peeve of mine that I can’t get over. 😂 A very nice watch nonetheless, but it’s not for me. 🙏
@@tohian Hello mate, I appreciate to see you here again! 😊 I hear you, I know what you mean, personally my pet peeve is with watches that has end-links being pressed and not milled 😂
@@craiglibby1224 Hello mate 😊 Grand Seiko clearly has many* advantages as I discussed in this video. Wait! Chinese import Italian leather to sell it back to them... maybe? Nice.... LOL For some reason, i feel this is a tin box i have to open (sideways?) to see some weird electronics inside. Let alone it looks like a shrinked wall clock...
The style is on point, but this finishing look nowhere near GS level (or even San Martin tbh), at least on camera. UPD: Check the comments for macro, I was wrong.
Really? I don't know about that. SM polished surface has distortions still. SM Brushing might be better but the polished surface definitely hasn achieved the distortion free polishing as seen here. If you own a SM see if it can reflect font or texts without any size changes. It can't. The only SM that came close was the SN009 a few years ago going for 400 dollars.
@@dovs96 Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I personally always judge the finishing based on 5 things mainly: 1. Sharp transition between different kinds of finishes (brushed to polished) 2. Straight brushing lines 3. Defined, straight, sharp lines between different angled surfaces (like we see for example on the corners of this watch, from brushed surface to another brushed surfaced with a different angle) 4. Consistency (no random variations) 5. Also most importantly, the polishing itself, how much it reflects and how little distortion it has if it is a flat surface and not curved. I think you feel that way because the chosen level of grit on the brushing looks to be more coarse. But it is purely a design choice to get that industrial look to match the style of this watch, also I am zooming in with my new macro lens which makes it look even more coarse. But coarseness it is rather a design choice than good or bad finishing, because it takes no different level of skill or effort between finer or coarser finishes, it is only a matter of what sand paper you choose and what look you are going for 😊 Excuse my long answer, but I felt this could be interesting 🙌
@@sbui66pip I think it is only a matter of the chosen level of sandpaper grit for the brushing. The more coarse or more fine brushing is definitely always intentional because it requires no more or less experience/effort to achieve. It is only a matter of what grit was chosen on the sandpaper used to achieve the brushing. This is only a stylistic choice and has nothing to do with level of finishing 😊
