People keep saying 'this means they're masochists,' but I don't think that's the case. Goku Black was a masochist, and showed that when he first fought Goku, and Goku thought he was creepy. I think this just means they like women who won't submit to them; there's more fight in it, and they are fighters. As for Goku's case, seeing as he doesn't really fight Chi-chi, I think he likes that she won't back down and makes it clear what she wants. He likes her because even though she isn't physically strong, that won't stop her from telling him off.

Vegeta's off-handed parenting kind of makes sense. I doubt Saiyans put much emphasis on family time, probably just wanted to breed and train the toughest warriors. Vegeta DOES love his family in his own way.

agreed, while episode 73 and 74 did show that Videl still has some kinks and strong opinions left, she lost her cheekiness. She was wonderfully cheeky against Gohan at first, but she did loose quite a bit of her temperament after she found out that Gohan was the one that defeated Cell.
Quite a 180 degree turn on her character, to be honestly. I loved it when Videl was torturing Gohan with her cheekiness (and I bet Gohan enjoyed it too), and I cannot remember this trait ever returning again afterwards (disregarding the DBZ movies, cause they Canon).
