- Join me as I explore inside the historic but decommissioned Mersey ferry, the MV Royal Daffodil, back in April 2019. This adventure took place 6 years after the Royal Daffodil was taken out of service in 2013, left to an uncertain fate. My tour offers a fascinating glimpse into the ferry's once luxurious but now abandoned interiors just prior to major renovation efforts to transform this Mersey icon.
This is my third exploration in which we'll take a walk down memory lane, seeing areas that have been untouched for half a decade. Highlights include the once elegant main salon on the Upper Deck with spectacular views, the Lower Deck salon, and promenade space, bridge, engine room and crew quarters.
The poor Royal Daffodil has seen better days, almost like a ghost ferry nowadays, with dusty furnishings and debris everywhere. But the potential still remains to restore her former splendor one day. Join me on this rare chance to discover the historic passenger ferry's interior before she enters the next chapter in her long career spanning over 50 years of service. The revival and rehabilitation journey is just beginning!
