so... can still do turn by turn route directions on a 100 dollar watch (with map overlay with labels too). that's insane. the cheapest Garmin watch that can do that is 500 dollars and up.
@huzcer with Kamoot and other more open source apps on the platform my vivoactive 4 and a lot of other old/cheap Garmin's with colour screen can do that. What amazfit does is not real mapping or navigation.
Although I agree, this is called Chinese dumping. We definitely benefit from the low cost, but it's not possible for an American company to match these prices. Will put pressure on Garmin to lower prices (can't believe no maps on instinct 3, major whiff) @@huzcer

I am a hobby sailor. I have been using an app on my phone to tell me my boat speed in "KNOTS". I am looking for a smart watch that can do the same. Is this watch able to do that?
@@AnEDCFriend the amazfit balance is selling for a really cheap price these days - has extra features over this watch that are worth it imo. eg music storage.
Hi, is the front screen glass completely flat or convex?
Offline maps can't do mapping, but is just a big JPG where you can put external GPX lines on.

This is my next smart watch
when will the premium version be available for purchase? right now only the regular version is available for pre purchase.
Yeah, I saw that, too. I don't mind getting the regular one if it's going to be weeks, but if only a few days I'll likely wait to get the $129 one.
