For anyone thats coming here looking for how to do this, the clutch side stock grip is REVERSE THREADED on the end cap. Twist to the right and it will loosen right up.
Nice, but you can dremel cut a straight edge screw driver slot in the screw, I had to do for other screws on the bike. And, you should have loosened the throttle cable adjustments for easier install and a good idea to spray a lubricant down the tube when doing this kind of update. I take it these weren't heated grips. Looks awesome.
Beautiful bike! Love the black. I have an 07 vulcan 2000, grips look almost identical, think its safe to assume the install will be relatively the same!
Nice video. It looks like the bar diameter where the grip and brake/throttle/clutch is is actually 1” vs where the main bar diameter is 1.25”. Is this correct? I’ve been trying to find basic Kuryakyn ISO grips but they are only for 1”. I measured the main bar diameter where it’s mounted to the bike which is larger than where the grips go, correct? Thanks!
The screws are not standard #2 phillips, but JIS #2, thats Japanese Industrial Standard. You can find these screw drivers on Amazon, something like these. www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=jis+screwdrivers

The plastic 'chrome' caps on both sides are left hand thread.

I had the same issue when I did my girps, that sucked. I think you took yours off as best as these things come off.

Hey, does your vulcan has cruise control? I have a Volcan voyager and it has electronic throttle. I'm wondering what kind of grips do I need.
Yes it also has electronic cruise control. So you should be good to get these if you want.

The end caps r left handed threads!!!!!!!!!
To remove turn caps clockwise and it loses then
What size bars are those ?
Use some thread lock so screws don't fall out
What size are your handlebars?
I'm not sure on the size but they're the stock ones from Kawasaki.
