Hello, my friends and fellow Necromancers, and welcome to Eternal Harvest 5 -- the greatest challenge that Iratus has to offer! I had quite the elongated introduction this time so if you would like to skip straight to combat, gogogo 21:48! In Eternal Harvest 5, I am afraid that the game strongarms players into certain builds. Due to that hefty restriction, we will be limiting deviations and Scientific theories; however, I will continue to propagate those theories and, perhaps, try my hand at some that are manageable. The first theory: the Obelisk cheese. I'm inclined to attempt a compromise of the cheese, but you can let me know exactly what you think about it (explanation here 15:53). It is time for the Supreme Lord of the Dead to shatter his shackles, and I hope that you are looking forward to the remarkable journey that awaits us! Thank you for watching and Merry Christmas! ♥
I have enjoyed your series immensely and your detailed exposition has greatly improved my own tactics in command of Iratus. I have just completed a run on Good Always Wins, the highest I have achieved so far, so thanks for all the help.
I'm glad that you've enjoyed the series and that it was helpful -- congratulations on your GAW clear! To think that my Literature teachers used to hound me about detailed exposition, but I got the last laugh in the end! :D
Man, all the gifts I have yet to unwrap and the 2nd one I get doesn't even have wrapping...many thx, now I have something to look forward to tomorrow morning!
My struggles through Eternal Harvest 5 will be the gift that keeps on giving! In all seriousness, I'm glad that you're here for EH5 and hope that you have a great Christmas! (=
HERO OR ZERO! After further deliberation, I think I'm going to do a pseudo-version of the all or nothing. It'll still be something I've never done before, so I'm excited. :D
The 34 re-rolls on the start is super unfortunate hahaha, on this day RnJesus may have been busy celebrating! Looking forward to the rest of the series. Like you, i honestly can't subscribe to the theory of ignoring the graveyard, the library and abode of wrath are just too important. But i do max the obelisk first before even starting on the library. I have shifted away from gambling to upgrade minion parts, i try to only use diggers souls for minions, and gambled parts for potions.
I certainly hope that he was celebrating and not laughing at me. I kept getting the exact opposite of what I wanted too, some of the thinnest maps I've ever seen. >_> It seems way too sus (that's what the cool kids say, right?) to essentially abandon the GY, but I do think I'm going to try something new. For Science! I definitely think this is the most efficient use of the new tools at our disposal. I need to remember that Potions are a thing, lol.
Could you name a skeleton Ald? Bonus points if it is after you kill your first few dwarves. My fiancee had her dwarven fighter die recently in our home campaign for 5e and he was the epitome of the master of mediocrity.
Thanks for the only Skeleton suggestion that I have -- it has been added to the CreationList™! As masters of *mediocrity*, a Skeleton may not appear in our EH5 run, but I do carry this list across series for any future potential runs!
I am still on gaw and didn't know about using digger souls other than graveyard upgrade. Also I've. No dlc, so no rraper6, what would you suggest in his place?
In this particular composition, I'd probably recommend starting with the Unfrozen. Once you have Wrath synergies, have reached level 15, and/or have the Ashes of the Burned Witch item, this build perfectly pivots in to the Fallen Dhampir's Wrath spam strat.
Hmm.. personally, I would *always* upgrade both the Obelisk and Library before spending them on minions. The Library's Iratus power generation cannot be overstated. It often gives *more* XP than the combats, to Iratus. And remember that because it is both a flat and % buff, delaying the Library for an entire floor or more (since it would take that long to purple every part), would remove something like 20-30 levels from Iratus at the end of the game. It does make that much of a difference. I think maybe using strategic upgrades, if you would get a very big upgrade by increasing a part's power, like another Block or something, sure, but delaying the Library has serious long-term implications.. I get that it might be somewhat necessary on EH5 but if you can get by without spending them on upgrades until later on, it will always be best to upgrade both the Obelisk and Library first. The +damage from Halo *should* apply to the entire duration of the mark *if* you apply it during the turn where it has +30% damage. It snapshots the buffs of the creature at the time of application. So, you want to mark during a +damage buff, but if you get a +damage buff the following turn it will not apply to an already-running mark. I think the miner's attack was changed.. it now moves the Miner forward, so he can then use his double-strike. It also reduces the minion's initiative to 0 for a turn. It did used to pull the minion it hit. I think it used to pull the minion forward, but that would not help the Miner get into position for his better attack, so I can see why they changed it. It is a better attack for him to have. What a Christmas present! Episodes without a minion death: 1
I think that you are absolutely correct. It's way too reckless to abandon the Library, so I think I'm going to do a compromise of the all-in strat! It should be fun. (= Ahh, good old snapshotting! I 'member the days of WoW DoT snapshotting... good times, good times. I wonder just how hard we could make the Mark hit, since I've never really utilized it before. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who remembers the Miner's ability pulling people forward. I do agree that this is a much better attack for the Miner, even though it does make him a little scarier. >_
Why am I always late? I just finished watching the ending of the Eternal Harvest 3 and I have so much to relay! Suphlatus has been depressed ever since seeing his beloved Reaper fall over and die, Azazel, the smug asshole, has been tormenting him as his replacement, and the mysterious Dark God of RNG had finally managed to sneak a blessing to you in the form of the Ashes, and I had been busy through all of that! As for the Black Widow, I must have confused Azrael with Azazel. Aza is my fallen brethren, teacher of metallurgy and cosmetics, known for his greed and envy. Azra is a loyal angel, herder of dead souls and keeper of Sheol, and an actually much more pleasant person than Azazel or the average heavenly fanatic. So, whoops on my part, your research is correct, it was just a typo on my behalf. I've been holding potential loyal angel names for... obvious reasons. But if you are willing to risk their scorn for using their blessed names for blasphemous ends, I would be more than willing to open the gates of... heaven, in this case?
Well, this time you have arrived on the day of release! I haven't even journeyed back into the Mines for round 2 yet. It seems the dissention between fallen angels was the key to the Dark God of RNG's amusement, so I must thank them for their incessant bickering. Ahhh, I am glad that my research was not misleading. You know how it can be searching for knowledge amidst the writings of mortals. Ultimately, Death cares not about blessed or cursed, malevolent or benevolent, incarnations of evil or beacons of good, for Death is the ultimate Fate of all things. All in its service are welcome to join our conquest of the Living, though your more, shall we say, goody-two-shoe kin may be quite unwilling. If you fancy one such kin, you may need to get.... creative. ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)
@@Fableheim Very well, then. I suppose you are no stranger to fighting uphill battles against the will of divine beings, Supreme Necromancer Fableheim. So, to add a layer of challenge to this already merciless ascent, let us unleash the heavenly hosts and call upon their names! -Israfel, Angel of Song, summoner of the Last Day. Recommended for a Lost Soul or Lich (considering its apocalyptic wrath ability). I can't wait to see the reaction of the mysterious lady once her name is used... -Shelegiel, Angel of Winter. A natural fit for an Unfrozen, though a softie like her will probably react poorly to having such a merciless creation named after her. -Sahaqiel, Angel of the Sky, keeper of the Gates of Heaven. Surprisingly, could fit a Bone Golem, given their bodyguard status. -Raziel, Angel of Mysteries, keeper of heavenly knowledge. Any magic minion would fit the greatest magician among the hosts, but I would personally recommend a Shade. Knowing my old teacher, he's probably already watching your necromantic errands and would be amused to have a creation named after him. -Matarael, Angel of Rain and another old friend of mine. I'll keep him as a wildcard of sorts, to let your imagination sort out the possibilities. If needed, more are to come, but this should be a reasonable starting point. This should be interesting...
