@@mdorn6592 you said over looked and under appreciated, not most awarded by a thankless job. Mothers are often treated like the queen of the family, they don’t have to break their back or deal with the stress that comes with working outside the home. Mother’s Day is always more celebrated than fathers. They get the “financial bump” that their husband does even though they didn’t do the work. They don’t get drafted into war, in an emergency situation they are always prioritized over men and never expected to defend their family in a crisis. Women have it great. Men are often overlooked and mistreated. They are expected to be feminine and still be a man. They are expected to be hard yet tender. They are more harshly punished in legal situations, less likely to be helped when in danger or down in their luck. They have it very hard and are not shown the love they deserve. Both genders can be overlooked by an ungrateful spouse, but women are not the most undervalued or most important.
I must say that I love your channel so much and one of the reasons is because you're real. You're not putting on an act or just doing this for style or money, but, because this is your life and I love that. It reminds me of myself in the early 70s when I had a mini-farm. You know, chickens, ducks, goats, etc. lived mostly off the land. I loved it and still love it. So, what I'm trying to say is that I admire you for your tenacity and hard work. You have such a knack with flowers, beautiful! One of my Grandma's had a beautiful yard, shrubs, annuals, perinatals, vegetables, cutting garden, roses, fruit trees..on and on! She had fresh flowers in almost every room. When an arrangement started to fade, she would take out the spent flowers and put the bouquet into a smaller vessel. She did this a couple times, until there was a single bloom in a juice glass or dish by the kitchen sink! Nothing wasted..much like God in our lives, always looking for the beauty❤
I thought at first that it waa a decorative pitcher that she put arpund for the chickens to drink from! Either way it looked so cute I think I will put some of my nice pitchers or keep my eyes open at estate sales for different ones for my cats to drink from when they are outside instead of bowls! 😀 I think their water would stay cleaner too without the dirt blowing in them because their taller! 😀 I can’t do it now but I need to keep it in mind or put it in my inspiration book! 😀
Thankful that you give young mothers/homemakers “permission” to let go of things that can drag you down just because there’s pressure out there to do it. Sometimes it seems that these new ladies want their homes to be the best but it’s hectic to try to do everything! Us older ladies can tell them that until we’re blue in the face, but coming from a peer really hits home. Example: I have hardly any pictures of my two children growing up. No cell phones, couldn’t afford a camcorder nor a Polaroid camera. You had to buy film, then pay to have it developed and even then, the pictures might be blurry, dark, or unrecognizable. The few photos I have are precious. My daughter (in high school sewing class) made me a photo quilt with the pictures we had and now it hangs on my wall. Times have sure changed.

Live on less, find free activities, make your own coffee, drive an older vehicle, be humble !!! No kid ever grows up and says, “I had a wonderful childhood being raised in daycare, we had the newest car in the neighborhood and we always had fancy new furniture that we couldn’t play on, it was great and I hardly know my parents” !!!! Lisa, you may be too young to remember the scrapbooking craze of about 20 - 25 years ago. I never got into it because 1) I don't have a creative bone in my body and 2) I felt like I just didnt have the time to devote to it working part time and raising my first two children. Just a lovely video. I think my favorite part is the rain that you capture outside, it is so calming. I wish you the best and as always I take away something from every video that I can use...for example I am going to scrub the tub because I put that off in favor of other chores that I prefer :)

@@lormor460 not sure about you, but I raised eight kids from 1978 through 2019. We raised them in a different era, and we had different information. We did the best we could with what we had! It’s fun watching these young moms and the choices that they make. they give me hope :-)
@@baseballmomof8Thank you , I needed to hear that. My kids were born in the late 80s to mid 90s. The oldest only speaks to me on holidays. I miss her terribly . There is no estrangement, and I know she loves me but she is almost too independent. She started drifting from me since she was 18, she is now 37….I feel like I did something wrong.
@@lormor460 why do we mamas always take the blame for the things that seem not to go right? It’s just something we do! I love your advice on FLOW Lisa! I agree with your homemaking routine vs rigid budget. We have a huge wall calendar 📅 we make bc the kids love to see whats upcoming & I put dates in my phone calendar and transfer them to the big calendar each month.

Hi Lisa, as a long time follower, the thing I love most about you is how practical you are. You are who you are and that is ok. I love that. I agree about the documenting everything…..I have memories and that’s all I really need. Thank you 🌷🇨🇦
This video is sooo good that i had to watch it 3 times and take notes ❤ I'm trying to be a home maker while also working full time and sometimes is so overwhelming. Thank you for all these efficient tips ❤️
I’ve tried so many charts, lists, routines, timetables…every time I sit down to fill a print out in or write something down I think … this is it, this is it this time it’s going to work! And it just never happens. I get so stressed trying to keep to the routine that I end up being on top of the kids all the time and feeling like a failure. But if I don’t have it all written down my head can’t contain all the stuff that needs done, I think it’s my age…I think I’m going to try and just write down the things I want to achieve both at home and in terms of homeschooling with no times…
just keeping a running list has been helpful for me and when I have a block of time I look at what is next on the list and I just do it...no thinking or stressing about what I should do with the time given....maybe that will help you..
I use a three year paper planner for appointments and special dates, a notebook for detailing how I’d like the days to go, projects that need to be done right away, grocery lists, and brainstorming and my phone notes app for long term lists like home maintenance. I can’t do phone calendars, my brain doesn’t register the same way seeing dates and times on paper does. A three year calendar is the best because if something happens anually, say sign ups for summer camp or sales for stocking up on next seasons clothes for kids, I put that on the calendar a year out. Feels good to get it out of my head and onto paper and can leave it for a year. Thanks for the video!
As your family gets older and there's even more activities, you might consider a calendar app. The reason I mention this is because with most calendar apps, you can set up a calendar for each person or group of people or even each activity like church or year long sports activity and then view them all together or 2 or 3 or just 1. That way it's easy to see that the littles have a play date at the same time as the highschoolers. Or when pulling in the church schedule you see there's a conflict with a birthday party. And yet, everyone can still be focused on their own calendar without being bombarded with what everyone else is doing. 💕🌞🌵😷
Your observation and perspective on memories really resonated with me. I'm a mother of four grown daughters and only the first one has a "baby book", which I wrote memories in for the first 9 months and then no more. I think being in the moment is so much more important than having photos or even written notes about. My daughters used to give me the gears about their lack of baby book but now they're mothers themselves and they see just how much there is to do and I don't think even one of my eight grandchildren has a baby book!
Also, photos I lost a lot through moves and my software crashing so Im just printing a few from different trips, celebrations etc and putting into a book.
I started keeping track of milestones but stopped somewhere along the way. I wish I'd kept it up because my children ask all the time when they first did this or that and I have to tell them that I don't know 😢
I am a photographer and remembering everyday sweet moments is important to me 😊❤ im on baby #3 and have taken more photos of her than the other two even, haha. 😅 I have done a pregnancy journal for all three and they all three have a 0-5yr old book... all filled out. It's so fun for me to sit down in the evening and fill in the next pages!! ❤
I had a dream last night with you in it!🤯 You called me up to ask me to be on your podcast and we were on the phone for a while just chit chatting😂 Hopefully it's prophetic, but most likely just a result of being 6 months pregnant 🥴
I adore these types of videos. I am not even the intended audience for it, single, no children, not working from home, but there is always some sort of information in it that can help me. And it's nice to hear that we don't have to do All The Things and that you can just live your own life with your own priorities. So thank you, Lisa! 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
I really love seeing your passion for cooking! Im now pregnant with our fifth child, but never got to a point where i liked cooking. Even though i believe what we eat is so important. And really try to make it fun… I just keep avoiding the kitchen as much as possible 🫣 If you could share more ideas and tips about this, that would be great! Even just watching you making all these great foods helps ❤
I would say that if you want to be better in the kitchen, pick a recipe you would like to make and make it until you master it. Then add a new recipe or skill until you master that one also...pretty soon you will have a whole arsenal of skills...it could be as simple as finding easy crockpot meals that you throw in in the morning and are ready at dinner....save or mark the recipes your family loves and after a season you will have a good amount of easy dinners
@@FarmhouseonBoone thats really a good idea. I always forget recipes because we like to eat different meals, but it definitely makes it a lot harder to even start cooking. 🙏🏻 thanks a lot 🙏🏻

Will you share what sewing machine you have? Thanks! I love your relaxed, go with the flow style of motherhood/homemaking. It is very encouraging to me as a mom of littles in the trenches.
She has sewing tutorials all ready to use, and explains using the simplest sewing machine for years, and now also having one that is more advanced for a couple other functions. The main difference is buying fabric in bolts or many yards on a roll for multiple projects, and thread on a separate spool holder for a huge spool. Those were interesting ideas to me since there can be very steep discounts on fabric, and it is less expensive in higher yardage. But finding a fabric you like for many different projects may be more tricky. I enjoy variety. For curtains and linens, it was wonderful to buy fabric in bulk.

Awesome as usual! Hate to see it end!❤
I loved this video so much! Addressing being ok with not documenting everything and being mindful with our schedules.....it was right up my alley. Thank you for bringing it up.🌷
Morning Lisa from England a coffee & time spent recharging with your video
I get what you're saying on seeing our tasks as a whole! Enjoyed your video!
I love watching your videos. So calming, your voice, the music, just watching you work with such a flow. At the same time receiving great advice or a wonderful recipe. Thanks for sharing.
Im so glad I found you. You are such an inspiration.
Great advice Lisa! When my kids were young I wasn’t able to keep up with our pictures either. Everyone has different perspectives & different gifts.
That is nice your daughter helps make a little family video for you guys. I hope that one day you guys will look back and love seeing those!
Now I have a deviled egg craving...
you're amazing, lisa! thanks for sharing your 'i'm not that perfect' (as it looks like!) inspirations.
Thank you for always putting a positive spin on homemaking. That blessed so many. ❤️
Just wanted to note I miss your antique haul videos. Not sure if you may be less in acquisition mode, but would love to see one! Personally I’m in the mode of buying only antiques I have a specific purpose for, but I am still buying occasionally!
My family has tello for our phone service and we love it!!
I have to use my notes app for groceries, appointments and dog medicine schedule. I don’t know you do it! You are so amazing. ❤ The kind of mom I wish I had been.
Mine are all doing well, but they are all very busy with their own families and their own lives. Some are more in touch with me than others, some have remained strong in their faith and others wobble a bit. We did the best we could with what we had. I just had a feeling that you needed to hear it, we all do every now and again. :-)
@@baseballmomof8 Thank you 🥹🙏❤️
I love how calming your videos are 😊❤ even though you’re doing chores it’s like I get to visit your home . Thank you 😍
😊 thank you
Perfect as always!❤
I love your advice on FLOW Lisa! I agree with your homemaking routine vs rigid budget. We have a huge wall calendar 📅 we make bc the kids love to see whats upcoming & I put dates in my phone calendar and transfer them to the big calendar each month.
Amazing how you and your sisters like picking from the garden flowers, 🌸 , aww sweet ,?
Very good advice for young moms,
I love your videos. Such a stress reliever for a full time working mom and wife. You inspire me so much ❤️
Did you know if you tap lightly on the wide bottom of the egg with a spoon until you hear a TACK sound it loosens the membrane and the shells peal SO EASY Although you don't seem to have a problem with this...
Hi Lisa, as a long time follower, the thing I love most about you is how practical you are. You are who you are and that is ok. I love that. I agree about the documenting everything…..I have memories and that’s all I really need. Thank you 🌷🇨🇦
Thank you so much!
Loveeee your salt box!
You seem to have a nicely run household. Great food and a beautiful family and home.
Loved this!! Such an inspiration to me!!!
Hello sweet family on Boone ❤❤
Your observation and perspective on memories really resonated with me. I'm a mother of four grown daughters and only the first one has a "baby book", which I wrote memories in for the first 9 months and then no more. I think being in the moment is so much more important than having photos or even written notes about. My daughters used to give me the gears about their lack of baby book but now they're mothers themselves and they see just how much there is to do and I don't think even one of my eight grandchildren has a baby book!
I have 6 kids and my first child the baby is full, second child 1/2 done, and the rest wellll not so much.
I have done a pregnancy journal for all three and they all three have a 0-5yr old book... all filled out. It's so fun for me to sit down in the evening and fill in the next pages!! ❤
Thank you, Lisa😀
Love the video. It's so relaxing to watch.
I had a dream last night with you in it!🤯
You called me up to ask me to be on your podcast and we were on the phone for a while just chit chatting😂
Hopefully it's prophetic, but most likely just a result of being 6 months pregnant 🥴
So fun! I love when God sends me encouraging people in dreams 🥰
I adore these types of videos. I am not even the intended audience for it, single, no children, not working from home, but there is always some sort of information in it that can help me. And it's nice to hear that we don't have to do All The Things and that you can just live your own life with your own priorities. So thank you, Lisa! 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
So glad you are finding helpful information for yourself! Thanks for following along.
Love your content. So inspiring!! God Bless 😊
hey girl- love the video! 🤗 great tips 👍 Yummy food as always Lisa😋 Keep up the good work🥰
We LOVE Tello! We’ve Used it for my kids the last 3 years and half the time he has better service than my tmobile.
So true, re preparing for the day. 😊😊
I love your channel. It feels like I’m talking to a mom friend who’s kids are older than mine ❤️
I really love seeing your passion for cooking!
Im now pregnant with our fifth child, but never got to a point where i liked cooking. Even though i believe what we eat is so important. And really try to make it fun…
I just keep avoiding the kitchen as much as possible 🫣
If you could share more ideas and tips about this, that would be great!

Your vlogs are so soothing
Omg, you finally fixed those curtains over your sink. I never understood why you had them below the sill. They look great. Love your videos!
haha...as you see, I am not bothered by little details
I always love your pretty homemaking videos ❤ keeping me company while babies nap
Hi Lisa I use my notes app on my iPhone also to log appointment dates and times or I will definitely forget. I love how organised you are ❤
I grew up with the saying good management is the work half done , sounds like your life 😊. Loved this video!
❤❤❤❤ the egg color assortment is outstanding 🎉❤️
Great tips. Thanks.
Needs before wants a huge help for me with business, caring for grandbabies, as well as adding parents.
Hi!! Wanted to share a deviled eggs variation: we do mayo, salt, pepper, curry powder, and just a little pickle juice. Hope you try it. It's so nostalgic for me. 😊
So inspiring. 😊❤
im wondering how you get your hard boiled eggs so easy to peel? This was also so helpful to hear it's okay to not have chore charts
Either steam them or add them to already boiling water.
Beautiful Lisa 🙏
Lovely video to watch as I take a long walk ❤️
Yum 😋 makes me hungry! Thankful for your recipes & encouragement as a Christian momma! ❤
Great video! Thanks for all the tips.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Lisa i am enjoying your videos very much. Fall is almost here and. need to get out the large pots for my makeing soups. Can you please start adding videos for how to make homemade soups and stews the cold weather is coming fast and i live on soups and stews but have a hard time trying to come up with if i am adding the right herbs and most of the time my soups are coming out real bad so i need help with the spices and make sure i am useing the right broth. Can you help by adding videos. Thank You Lisa.
You can go to FarmhouseonBoone.com and type "soup" in the search bar and all my soup recipes will come up and they are printable recipes
For curtains and linens, it was wonderful to buy fabric in bulk.

keep working to find the best routine for you!www.farmhouseonboone.com/healthy-avocado-mayonnaise/
Great video! Have you ever done a video on balancing your youtube working career with being a homemaker?
I have talked about that frequently over on The Simple Farmhouse Life podcast and TH-cam channel
Love motivational videos 🙏🏻
