Sir, I am AS patient since 1998, under your consult since your Aurangabad visits. I had this eye problem in2015, , 2017 & recently in March 2022. Consulting opthalmologist advised it is iridocyclitis, is it same as you stated Uvieitis or different?.
To cure the iridocyclitis, it take long treatment of 3 months, eye drops & medicines contains steroids too.
My query is as under,
Cataracts of my both the eyes are overdue , the doctor advised me that , for me it is better to postpone as long as normal eyesight with spects , allow you. Because, , iridocyclitis after operation may be problematic, further use simple lence in operation. So what is your guiding advise in this regard. Pl guide.

I have been diagnosed with AS after 5yrs of symptoms my pain is in hips, sternum and lower back My Doctor has put me Indomethacin and Minocycline for 3 months I don’t why she is using Minocycline
I suggested her Salfasalazine she was not interested in prescribing that yet
Can you please suggest if this seems to be the right approach I have severe burning pain these meds are not helping much I am taking them for 2 weeks now

Yes; regular blood tests & rheumatologist consultation should take care of this.
Sir I have Juvenile SPA, my knees also sweels always from time to time.. I am taking Saaz Delayed Release 500mg 2 times.. Please tell me which exercise I can do.. Because most of exercise causes knee swelling.. Please help
If exercises are causing knee pain; that means your AS is not very well controlled. Speak to your rheumatologist; optimise the AS medications. Quadriceps strengthening exercises should help you. Avoid any exercises that put pressure on the knee like sit ups, skipping.

Not really if in moderation. It can cause disturbance with the liver if one is on methotrexate medicine.

This can be inflammation in the temporomandibular joint ( jaw joint). It can a part of AS. You need better control of AS. Pl consult your rheumatologist.

Use Tofacitinib 5mg, twice a day if pain is severe, else once a day. For ubitis use omnacortil 40mg for 1 week, then 30 mg then 20 mg then 10 mg for 1 week each. Hopefully this will help you. Put predforte eye drop 3-4 times a day and homide in the night

No. Carpal tunnel syndrome does not cause AS. AS at times can cause carpal tunnel syndrome if it causes inflammation in the wrist.

DMARDs, short course of steroids & if required biologics can take care of the wrist inflammation.

I am suffering for 3 years now. Almost every thing that can happen to a patient suffering from AS has occured to me. Only thing that remained was Uveitis and for the past 10 days i hv been experiencing the symptoms. Cant take this anymore !!!! Wish i die soon.
