Thank you so much for the detailed explanation Sir. The most useful video I found on the net. I have AS, but HLA B-27 is negative. Many people are not aware of it. Recently I was told by a Biotech Professor that there is a panel of Genes responsible for AS. It was confirmed by your expertise.

Dear sir I'm HLA B27 suffering from AS. Taking NSAID but AS is still there. Had uveitis 3 times in last 3 years. I took adalimumab 3 doses last year. As per rheumatologist I've been advised to start remicade IV infusion. Please suggest if it's safe to start the IV infusion of remicade.

My HLA B27 is negative. I started having severe sciatica and back pain (sacroilitis)when I got pregnant. I also had PUPS during pregnancy. After 3yrs of suffering last week I got diagnosed with AS. Sir is there any chance that my foetal gene caused me AS during pregnancy since I was allergic to it ( had PUPS). I have a male child? And also is there any chance of paternal gene transfer to mother via foetus which caused me AS. I was very active before pregnancy. This is my doubt because my husband has HLAB 27 but he is normal.

Good evening Sir kindly help me and guid as I was taking Saaz 1mg 2 time daily which was leads to some abdominal pain,pale eyes,but I never get relief from Saaz. now I have stared my treatment from unani medicine and there is some pain relief in last 1 month. Pls suggest me should I have to continue treatment from unani medicine or to see rheumatologist again. If it is early & limited to inflammation in the hip joint; it will settle with medicines. If it has been there for quite some time & caused osteoarthritis, one may require surgery.

There is not much movement at the SI joint & fusion of the SI joint generally does not cause any problem. If you are having pain; either the AS is active or there is some other reason. Do talk to your rheumatologist to understand the exact cause of pain. Do speak & understand if you have inflammation of the hip as it can cause pain while standing/ sitting.

AS activity tends to fluctuate & there could be other reasons for a high CRP as well. Other reasons are less likely if there is no fever. Keep consulting your rheumatologist & ensure that AS is tightly controlled.
