I hear you still I've been to those raves technology once again making it easier when we enjoyed the actual cutting edge of a dj has now gone it's all pre mixed now arnt they has that feel
@@Pandoaster This is such a good point. I know what you mean; obviously, not actual 'Pre-mixing,' (which I know you didn't say) but it has that 'feel' like you did allude to. This is due to the fact that these days, it's so easy to find ways for technology & knowledge to 'assist' quick & easy beat-matching, as well as setting up tracks with 'queue points,' meaning you can skip much further into the intro of a track, without having to try & find it with a needle in a dark nightclub. You don't even need to waste time to change records from turntable to bag & you have every next track ready at the click of a button, with the matching key of the next track to further assist quick beat-matching & even develop pre mixed 'Dub Specials' of tracks to get that instant dopamine hit for the crowd. The crowd were watching Andy at the side of the booth achieving the impossible with literal chunks of acetate & plastic in 2009: 'Caveman' style. No cheats, no tricks & it made Andy unique. Now, all of these young DJs are able to not only copy, but mix quicker than Andy with technology assists. Tracks now are actually mixed too quickly in my opinion & it's just turned into an anthem bash; served Tiktok style: With a super rapid dopamine hit assault on the ears & mind. Some nights are taking it back to Vinyl only, 3 deck mixing on nice, old Jamaican style, warm sound systems, with the mid-frequencies dampened in order to get that sub bass more prominent, much as how it used to be.;)
The two best to ever do it. Blessed that Andy's still here. Blessed that we had Skiba for the time we did. True legend
