- E.T Adventure Flying Dark Ride through at Universal Studios Florida. There used to be an E.T Adventure ride at Universal Studios Hollywood, but it was removed in 2003 for the Revenge of the Mummy the ride. Universal Studios Japan also removed their E.T ride in 2009 for Space Fantasy: The Ride. So the only place you can still go on E.T ride is at Universal Orlando.
E.T Adventure dark ride reminds us of Peter Pan ride you can find at a Disneyland, Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, Shanghai Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and Tokyo Disneyalnd.

Shortly after Harry Potter land opened, I went to Universal Orlando and was at the gate first thing in the morning. As soon as the gates opened, everyone ran towards Harry Potter but I ran straight to E.T. and I ran all the way through the line so that I could sit on Elliot’s bike with E.T. on the front. I was THE ONLY PERSON on the ride!!! Just me and E.T.!!! At the end, he said goodbye to ME and nobody else. It was the best day of my life.

Frankie Washburn I wasn’t aware that it wasn’t original lol, but it’s still a great example of a modern (ish) indoor ride made by Universal which is actually very good and gives me hope for Universal to go back to traditional rides (and not to mention ituses a handful of practical AND digital effects). Now, if only Universal could do something like that again instead of making rides like Jimmy Fallon and F&F Supercharged :/

It is 2023 and I just rode this ride I hadn’t ridden since I was 7 years old in 1992. I am 38 now and let me tell you, it was just as mesmerizing as it was 30 years ago. At the end when E.T. said my name I felt like a kid again I had tears in my eyes! They just don’t make ‘‘em like this anymore, I hope universal keeps this one here for a long long time.❤

Especially the queue through the forest! Such a musty foresty kind of smell. Very nostalgia-heavy for me.
I rode this last week, and its really showing its age. the one little ET drumming has a severed arm and its just dangling, and the final ET at the end that says your name, his light up finger is completely melted.

Everyone keeps talking about it’s age. You have to understand that it can be quite hard to fix a 30 year old Ride. Thats why it’s special in my opinion because of the fact that it’s a universal studios classic and it’s the only one left.
I can’t believe this ride is still going. I was there in like 1993 and went on. Lol I have pictures of me covering my ears the whole time because it was so loud. Glad they still have it
The only reason it's still there is because Spielberg threw a massive fit over the other one's being removed and threatened never to work with them again if they remove this one.

I went in 1993 too!! Summer of '93..And this was by far my favorite ride!! I was 9 years old🥹
I don't care how cheesy and old this ride is. I love it and always find time to ride it every trip. There's something so sweet about it ❤

If the rumored Pokémon City replaces KidZone, Universal should also give some of the budget over to ET so that it can get its much needed major refurbishment (new animatronics, special effects, and a refreshed city flyover).

I’d love to see ET refurbished but I love to see an original without anything done to it.
So nostalgic. 20 years ago I was on this ride, I was 13 years old. And now I’m sitting here watching the movie. So glad this ride is still there. Can’t wait to take my kid on it.
This was my favorite ride at the park. I love the older vibe it has to it. Even though Flying over the city has no animation I still believed it looked so amazing in person. It really felt like you were flying. Idk, I just really love it

I agree it needs a proper refurb, but mostly just to the animatronics, also flying over the city would look amazing with today's projection mapping.
Hopefully they won't close E.T. and replace it with another ride which will suck.
That whole ending bit is.....something. I have fond memories of this ride from the Hollywood location but watching it after such a long hiatus I can see why they removed it. A refurb to the city would be a great way to keep it from being too dated

You guys might think I’m weird. I last rode this ride in 2008. I was a little kid. I rode it again in 2021. I felt like a little kid again. I felt my innocence start to return for a brief moment. I felt childhood joy and when I got off the ride I was crying because it was a feeling I haven’t felt in a while. This ride will live on in my heart forever along with the movie ET. God bless the directors and crew who gave me the memories I had as a child whenever I would watch my favorite classic movies. Like Jaws, ET, Free Willy, Rambo, Rocky, Spider-Man, etc.
I had the same exact feeling! I was 7 last time I had rode this in ‘92, came back 2023 and instantly I was 7 years old again, E.T. Said my name, the hairs stood up on my back and my eyes filled with tears. What a moment that no other ride has given me. No one underestimate this ride. It is so special!

Same here I’m from the uk and the last time I rode this was in 2001 and I got to go on it again in this summer again brought back so many memories of when I was a little 7 year old kid last time I came 😊
They need to put ET back in theater so that younger generations can know him the way we do.

I saw the movie and not even out of high school. The movie is amazing one of the best but it didnt hit me as as much as you guys. Not a bad movie at all, far surpassing so many movies today. It just wont click with my generation

I was born in Orlando so went on this ride ton growing up. I moved away in 2006 and just rode it for the first time again in 2024. I literally bawled lol. Had to come watch the POV to attempt to relive my childhood again.

Reading most of these comments makes me feel a little better about my fellow theme park goers… it’s nice to see that the old fashioned dark ride spirit hasn’t completely died out in us. 🥰
When I was 7 years old I was terrified of E.T., I thought he was very ugly and strange, I was already awake for 3 nights in a row after watching this movie. But when I was about 8-10 years old, I went to the Universal Park, and there was an E.T. flying ride, I was afraid of the whole ride, but the problem was the end, because E.T. said a "thank you Henrique" (Henrique is my name) until today I'm traumatized, thank you mom, for giving me this trauma
I remember riding on this ride as a kid. I was probably 4. Flying in the bikes was amazing until I saw ET turn around at us in the basket. Best childhood memory ever.
This ride was so much fun . One of my favorites . But one thing this video is missing is the walk through of the forrest before you get on the ride . That is a key component that makes this ride awesome .
yes!! the line queue in the forest may have been even more amazing than the ride. It's been about 30 years since I've been on the ride, but the light, sweet smell of the mist/fog in the forest is something I've never forgotten
I think I was 10 or 12 years old when ET came out in 80’s, I will never forget those times in my life, i was so innocent, life was so simple yet full of happiness back then…I loved ET so much, I was so fascinated about it….up to this day as a 50 year old, I still adore ET and still watch the movie every now and then…the ET ride at universal is so awesome, it brings back my beautiful childhood memories! ET will forever remain in my heart! ❤️🙏👍
I was just on the ride yesterday with my kids. ET is my favorite ride of all time. I hope it never ever gets taken down.
There’s something just magical about this ride and I still remember the first time I rode it, 1993 as a teenager. I’m happy knowing it’s still around and allows me to remember the way Universal Studios Florida,a park I loved used to be. I hope this will always be around for others in the future to enjoy ever bit as much as I still do.

Hits me emotionally. Hearing the music, seeing the visuals, a visceral unexplainable feeling. Brings me back to my childhood, reminds me of the greatest vacation of my life with my late uncle and the rest of my family. Sometimes the simple things in life make you the happiest, but we fail to realize them until they are gone.
Just went to Universal last week and this ride was a major trip. Like traveling back in time. You really miss a whole lot of the experience from this video. Stephen Spielberg coming out on the screen in line to tell you about your "mission" to the decorations of the line. And even the very intentional smell of the place. Super cool ride to experience. Got to talking to the employees and good to know that by contract, universal is not allowed to remove it.

@@salami7031 you give it to a "passport control" staff member as you enter the building they enter it into a computer and it's linked to a swipe card. When you get on the ride your card is swiped so they know who is on which ride vehicle so he can say your names at the end.
Typically this effect is broken or just so hard to hear over all the music going on during the end of the ride.

@@disneyparksstarwarslover7638 I'm guessing it's had a refurb. I've been to Universal about 5 or 6 times now over various trips (years apart) and I think it may have worked twice.
Yet even when it's not worked they still go through the motions of the Passport part of the ride.
The ride is very long in the tooth now and I'm sure it's just Spielberg's threats that keeps it there. I'd much rather the original Kong, Jaws or T2 had remained over E.T. personally.
@@disneyparksstarwarslover7638 it really doesn't work unless you have a really simple name. Im an AP and go every week or so and the last few times I've tried different names and never heard my name's said. Names like "Mike" will sound sorta there though.
I needed this today. So many childhood memories with this ride. I can’t wait to bring my own kids here one day so they can enjoy it to. Really needed a smile today and this definitely helped. Stay happy and healthy everyone ❤️

当時のUSJにはファミリー向けのアトラクションを作ろうとしていて集客がへっていたETが消えイベント枠のスペースファンタジーができました

E.T.は小さい頃、一番好きなアトラクションだっただけに悲しい。
後釜のアトラクションはE.T.を潰しただけあって、さぞ面白いだろうと思って期待していたが実際乗ってみたら大したことなかった。
ただ、ホラーナイト期間の真っ暗なバージョンは面白かった。
これはすごい。
森岡さんがもっと早く立て直しに乗り出していたら今も存続していたでしょうね。

My family and I went to Universal and Disney at the beginning of August. This was one of our favorite rides. The line was practically nonexistent, so we rode it three times in a row

Loved this ride when I was little! Disney provided such a great blueprint model for these kind of rides huh? Without Snow White, small world, and Peter Pan rides, this wouldn’t have ever existed.

This was my favorite ride at Universal Hollywood when I was a kid! I loved E.T. and I only got to ride it once but I never forgot it.

I always thought it was kind of interesting how the astronaut on this ride or whomever says “They’ve got E.T.!” actually referred to him by his name instead of “they got the alien!” and I appreciated haha
I'll never forget the smell of this ride. Wasn't bad just something I never forgot. I catch the same smell once in a while and it always brings me back to when I was a kid here. Giving ET the name Eric Cartman then laughing my butt off when they read it back

when I was younger I was terrified of ET...my family went to universal and my parents made me go on this ride to get over it. While on it the ride broke down and I was stuck next to an alien hopping up and down 😂😂😂lets just say the fear stuck around a little longer after that

I liked the cue for the ET ride. Just a bunch of big trees and fences to make it seem like you're in the forest. So simple, but very inspiring.

I remember when i rode this in ET’s basket , it was the happiest day of my life when ET said my name at the end. I couldn’t stop smiling.

The ET ride at Universal is my all-time favorite ride. Ever since I was a little kid I’ve loved this ride I haven’t been back to Universal for about 3 or 4 years but when I do go back I’m definitely riding it multiple times

The biggest reason why this ride is still operational is because Steven Spielberg told Universal that if they teared down the ride, he would never make a movie with the studio ever again. That shows how much ET means to him.

I went to Universal Studios this summer with my grandparents, siblings, and parents and probably had the best time in my life. The line for the E.T. ride was SOO long and probably every 10 minutes the line moved, but the wait was totally worth it. I loved the cool breeze that goes by while the bike is flying and the part where you're going over the city and to E.T.'s world. It's a very exciting and happy memory.
I went on this ride a looong time ago, and ever since then, I couldn't for the life of me remember how passengers were secured to bicycles. So thanks for clearing up that confusing childhood memory of mine!
Great ride! Ridiculous that Universal removed it from the other parks, especially with the lack of good dark rides without screens.
