Just had my Navara Serviced at Nissan. They advised me my belts needed replacing - wanted $360. Found your vid, punched the part number into ebay, and just bought a Gates brand belt kit (all four) for AU$45 delivered. Will fit when they arrive. Keep up the good work mate! Much appreciated.
Life saver bro. Managed to accidentally de-rail one of my belts (back one on alternator) after a shammy got sucked in whilst the engine was running. I was in panic, thanks to you it's back on tightly and running quieter than ever 👍🏻
Fitted belts today. The alternator is a bit hard to slacken off.... I ended up turning the tightening bolt around the other way, and used it to push against the flange of the bracket to move the alternator over to slacken the belt. Had to clean the end of the bolt up with a file after, as had damaged the thread slightly, but it worked. I was surprised you can't just slacked off the lower pivot bolt, but it appeared to have a funny round head on it, or something, not easy to get to. Thanks again for posting.
Done this the other day. Had to do it twice, they didnt give me 2 matched belts in dayco belt slipped out. Went with gates for the alternator w/pump belt.
Thanks mate. You could use a tension gauge if you wanted to. I just went by having a tiny bit of flex, but all feeling about the same to press down. Nothing too scientific. If they don't squeal, I'm happy.
Hey mate changed these belts cheers for video, was algood untill about a week later they started sqeaking for few seconds once i turned on.iv tightend them but still squeek on start up, i noticed on the alternator belts theres three large pullies and then a small one between bottum big pullie and right hand pullie which belt hardly touches and i can spin it by hand easy, does tht pullie tention out some how? It does spin wen engine running but have no clue what its for and if it needs to have belt tentioned on to it cheers.
Hey there j syd. The 2 main belts that turn the Alternator are adjusted on the Alternator itself. That should pull the tension up on the other parts of the belt. You can put a reasonable amount of tension on the belts without doing harm, sounds like they might still be a bit loose? Otherwise, the previous belts may have left a greasy or oily residue on the pullys, you might need to remove the belts again and spray all the surfaces with degreaser and try roughing them up a bit with a file to give it some more bite. You can get stop squeal spray too, but I wouldn't recommend it, as it's kind of just masking the problem. Let me know how you go!

Thanks for the tips mate. I just fitted my belts without having to take the fan off as my belts had broken off already.
Good work mate. Glad you managed it okay.
How did you get them pass the Fan?
@@mhstagg
Best just to take the fan off mate.
It's only 4 x 10mm nuts holding it on there.
This was awesome haha. Very helpful and a good laugh. Thanks for the help!
Usually the AC belt that squeals first , was hoping to c how to adjust .
Great Vid mate... very helpful!

Do u still have this navara.....if so any chance u could do a video of how the power steer tensioner washers etc go
Nice vid keep up the good work !
Is this the YD25DDTI engine?
Top vid again boss. How did you get the tension right on the belts? did you use some tensioner tool /gauge?
Thanks mate. You could use a tension gauge if you wanted to. I just went by having a tiny bit of flex, but all feeling about the same to press down.

TheStagg yea thanks mate turns out supercheap auto gave me wrong belts which thought mite be the case they were too long cheers for reply
great vid, how long did it take you to do the job?
zucan100, couple of hours mate. Not too bad once you know what youre looking at.
Why did you remove the fan🤷
@craighalliwell96 bit easier to remove the belts without it in the way
Damn I come here to see how to remove the air con belt but its the only one you didn't do 😂
I thought 2010 was d40?
They made both models in 2010
you dont have to take fan off
Thats what I was thinking. Just put it half round the fan and wind it around till it comes over?
Not bad but there's room for improvement
