The number of manuscripts says absolutely NOTHING about the validity or truth of the text written on them.
Also, besides a few of Paul's letters, none of the books of the Bible has been written by eye-witnesses.

All 4 synoptic gospels are anonymous, and authorial attribution for each of them by the early church fathers ('gospel according to X') date from the 2nd century. It's also worth noting that there is no mention of the gospels before the 2nd century, either.
The epistles of Peter (Simon/Cephas) are most certainly pseudonymous, meaning they have been written under a false name to give them more significance. Dating, writing style, structure, and language support this conclusion.
Lay down the god glasses, and try to be objective for a change.

@@MyReligionIs2DoGood Even scholars can't say for sure they were NOT written by them, so please lay off the youtube education. And speaking of Church fathers, how about we follow the chain of narration with the book of John, shall we?
Writing around AD 180, Irenaeus of Lyons wrote, “John, the disciple of the Lord, who also had leaned upon His breast, did himself publish a Gospel during his residence at Ephesus in Asia. In other words, Irenaeus declares that John wrote the fourth Gospel while living in Ephesus. And this John should be identified with the disciple whom Jesus loved and reclined on Jesus’ breast in John 13:23.
Irenaeus claims to have been taught by Polycarp( who was in the FIRST Century) who was taught by John. That is to say, Irenaeus was in a position to know if John was the author of the fourth Gospel.

@@armourofgod6310 Nothing is ever totally certain, However, no matter how you want to look at it, it is far more likely than not that they have NOT been written by the much later named alleged authors, even if you ask Biblical scholars.
Furthermore, your example _exactly fits_ what I claimed to be the case. You are _supporting_ my argument.

Just because I know the original version of a story does not make the story true. And none of the gospels even claim to have written by eyewitnesses. (they're not "signed" either, in blood or otherwise. Virtually everything Mcdowell says in this clip is false.
