Matt, I had the opportunity to listen to these for. Couple of months. I thought they were fantastic. My only issue was they are so big and heavy they became too much after about an hour. If I tried to lean back, they were so big they got knocked off. 😂
I’m so out of touch in the headphone department, AKG K240 that I have owned since the 70’s, couple of pair of Sony MDR‘s that I have had for years as well and I probably replaced the ear pads on them at least a half a dozen times throughout those years, and a pair of Grado’s and a few miscellaneous ones not worth mentioning. I do think it’s time for me to join the 21st century😂 I have seen a lot of reviews on the Verum, all favorable. I like the looks of their second model that they had a Kickstarter program for it a little better than the first generation which reminded me of sheets of decorative aluminum you can get at the hardware store, but that’s just me. Shipping from Ukraine has always been a little leery for me. But thanks again Matt for a great review.
There is also a Verum 2, which is even more refined, but can't order it right now, they are producing the kickstarter orders, but probably on sale by the end of they year (hopefully).
Yeah. Verum 1 is like it's name. Truth. You hear a good recording, like if it's happening right next to you. If a youtuber have a good mic it's like he's speaking right next to you. HD6XX is the polar opposite. It's transformed and veiled into a velvety lie. Sounds unnatural, deep, almost "distorted". (Not really distorted.) Can be good, but nothing like the Verum 1. I would say the HD6XX is more like interesting. The Verum 1 is the good.
I listen to headphones about once a year. I just enjoy your videos.
I like the look of the headphones
Same here
Great review thank you
Never heard the Verum 1, but I have a set of Verum 2s on the way.. I funded the kickstarter.
Thanks for review!
When are you going to review the verum 2?
I let them know I would be interested after I wrapped this one up.
I have them, they are excellent!

Fair enough! Headphone fitments are definitely an individual thing.

The second model does look pretty good and I know exactly what you’re talking about with those decorative metal sheets haha.
Volumio Motivo review coming up.

Tell me about it, I need to get that Motivo review wrapped up!
I did see that as well, I am not certain if it’s planned to be a replacement or simply another option in their line up
@@MattCoykendall1 it's a more upmarket audiophile offering. They'll exist side by side.
Woot woot!!!
You know it
Yeah.
Verum 1 is like it's name.

The Verum 1 is the good.
Good points, the verum certainly lifts the fog on a recording.
Have both- different but both enjoyable from my Ragnarok 2
