    How moist does the vermiculite need to be to store the milkweed seeds? Is the moist vermiculite in the fridge better than the wet paper towel in the freezer? Thanks!

      Hi Rhonda. We tend to moisten the vermiculite to the point of a wrung out sponge, kind of like when we add moisture to our compost. According to our good friend Kim Bailey, who we learned the technique from, the fridge is better than the freezer in both cases, vermiculite or wet paper towel.
      Here is an article on Sow True Seed's (our favorite local seed company) blog about the technique and how Kim tested several stratification methods and then recorded the germination rates. Kim grows seeds for the company and she is a monarch super hero.
