IMO Deadbringer Chant is better then it looks - "only" 10 is much more for this deck ;) Sure you cannot be sure, but the chance You will hit something is big one, on top of that, its a "draw" every-turn. I think its worth keeping - they are worst cards you lefted it ;) Doring my tests both Detritive and Magnivore where underwhelming. Both of them most of time where like 3/3 or 4/4 ... Sure you still play them, but they are really bad :D Cards that are great in my opionion are and worth at least consider: 1. Ashes of the Fallen // Conspiracy --- in my deck i only run Ashes, but maby I shoud add both ? Generalny it change all creature sto Goyf in grave, so you will get any creautres you mill / discard ;) 2. Life from the Loam - that is i think one of the best card to add , Drege is "mill" , and on top of that it will make sure You have lands to play every turn ;) 3. Greater Good and Tortured Existence - both are really good as "discard" outlets. Greater Good is like amazing (You draw 5-6 cards by sac. the token, and then you discard 2-3 Goyfs - pure profit). Tortured is amaizng too - much cheaper , and You can swap yours Goyfs with one of the "dorks" etc... both can be activated on instant speed, what makes them soooo good. 4. Elemental Bond // Garruk's Uprising - best cards draw for this deck, you draw from tokens ETB
What is funny they say Deadbringer Chant only mills 10, but that is definitely a decent number as you had said. If you wanted a bigger number then Morality Shift would be the way to go. A card that wasn't mentioned here. For 7 mana your graveyard becomes your deck and your deck becomes the graveyard. I am thinking of adding that, but am honestly struggling on what to keep and what to remove from my list. Have been rethinking it a few times already even. Ashes of the Fallen I would also add indeed, it is only 2 mana. Conspiracy I don't have, but for 5 mana it is a bit expensive I feel for what it does. Though I can see the appeal if you have less Goyf and have ways to tutor to have more consistent ways to make other creatures Goyfs. What can be added instead of the 'bad' goyf are Changeling also. I mean there are some pretty decent ones out there. Chameleon Colossus, Bloodline Pretender and Masked Vandal to name a few. If you want to add Dredge I would add Golgari Grave-Troll, which is the biggest Dredge I believe (Dredge 6). Though Life from the Loam wil be good, because you can recycle lands. Stinkweed Imp might also be a good inclusion (Dredge 5) and is a 1/1 Flying Deathtouch. The other cards you mentioned I would also include indeed. I also would say Moria Scavenger is a pretty neat card for this. He has Deathtouch and Haste and draws/discards and when you discard a creature makes an Army token. Got the deck finally yesterday. Had Seige Gang Lieutenant, the Grist planeswalker, and the 6/6 flying dragon out at the same time. Seige was doing work and I would've won with all the tokens I had out if I wasn't for a boardwipe. Definitely keeping it in since I plan on throwing in a Doubling Season to help go extra wide.
Graveyard Overdrive is really powerful in this deck. 4 CMC tutor 3 cards and out them into your graveyard. Got commander out tutor lurgoyfs and the they instant ETB for 4.
Dude I use this deck yesterday and won. One the main reason I won is because I use Deadbridge chant. At the beginning of each turn I get a random card from the graveyard. If is a high level creature, my opponent are doom. Also in this deck, I created a lot mana. One of the game I play, had up to 14 mana
