I'm gonna spoil it because it doesn't matter at all to the story, but it will (for some reason) on the channel...wait until he sees the Bud Light can. We'll get a 4 minute pause about it.

I think the reason that this is less subtle is that the subtlety was being lost on a large portion of the crowd. I never thought it was all that subtle to begin with, but I think the creator was frustrated with so many people siding with Homelander on world views and not recognizing that he's the bad guy.
A large portion of the crowd? I haven't seen one person who actually agrees with Homelanders world views.. There's a difference between enjoying him as a character and actually supporting the things he stands for.
@@terogates1 Well you gotta remember The Boys is a parody. Whatever his supporters are preaching is supposed to mirror certain groups from the real world. So it's not people supporting whatever Homelander is saying, it's Homelander using whatever they're already saying to gain support. He doesn't believe a word of what he's saying, but he knows it will get him supporters. That the show plays it this close to reality is what makes it so good in my opinion, but it might also be what gives certain people a "hero figure" in Homelander. @@Sm0kingGun I didn't say that a large portion of the crowd sided with Homelander, just that a large portion of the crowd missed the subtlety (even though the parallels were always there). Separately, I was saying there is a small but vocal group that doesn't feel that Homelander is wrong and that he is more of an antihero than villain and that seemed to be an impetus for the show runner. From an article that I read a few weeks ago: "He (Krimpke) also expressed surprise some viewers perceive the Trump-inspired Homelander as the series’ hero: “What do you say to that? Unfortunately, I have talked in person to people that share similar beliefs to him and I see it in my social media feed (although who knows if those online people are just trolls). It's disappointing to say the least. Again, sorry for the miscommunication that I implied a large portion sided with Homelander. As written, I can totally understand how someone would think that was what I was saying. That was my fault for not using clearer language and separation. Cheers!

Btw mothers milk lost the weight due to the actor getting cancer apparently, but fair point on the ozembic, also the latest Southpark episode was about all that ozembic madness
Yeah I really wish people didn’t automatically jump to the Ozempic line when someone loses weight. Especially if they have no idea if it’s true. He didn’t lose the weight by choice.
Eric Kripke makes this show. He has always had the political allegory present, but for more subtle. He now admits that it was too subtle for all the stupid poor people in flyover country to understand, so he made it more obvious.
They’re just amping it up, since we’re about to elect orange homelander for a second time, even though he’s a convicted felon. The actor who plays Mother’s Milk had cancer. Not Ozempic. Please try not to assume. Not everyone who loses weight uses a drug to do or loses it by choice. Sensitivity for body image and weight issues would be nice.
