    I have the Chad Smith Signature Metal snare from when he was still a Pearl endorser. Great sounding drum!

    That 12x6 i think is the most dynamic and sounded great on all the tuning ranges and snares off and on.

    I’ve got a Natal Clear Acrylic 14”x8” and a clear G2 batter works so well on this. These snares look and sound great, especially the 14”.

    Hands down drummers review is the best review channel. It would be awesome if you branched out and did interviews with drummers since rhythm mag is gone. The snares in this vid sounds amazing, I'd go with the 13 personally. Would it be possible to review some internal drum mics as I'm yet to hear a good demo.

    I always felt a little meh about acrylic snares until I saw this review, and yeah, the sound was fine in a good way..

      I've had acrylic snares in the past, and some sound "meh". A lot of them have an indistinct/atonal and unfocused sound that's just "loud" and nothing else. A clear dot head is the worst choice for these.

    13 I liked the most… 12 was nice, 14 was "meh"... By the way you did not mention the acrylic shell thickness (sadly almost none of the manufacturers ever
    says it for acrylic drums) -> Under 6.mm its crap, they should be 7 or 8 millimeter to have some good endurance

    5:40 a little of spin doctors vibe there! I liked more the 14x5 Pearl model from Chad, but I understand that these are more in a price point range of snares, snares for everyone and that's good to. Great review as always! Greetings from Argentina

    I find 14" x 5-6" are the most full sounding snares

    13x7 for me. played it today. for around 210 EUR an absolute non-brainer. but review wise i would like a little more in context content.

    I had the 14x6 version of this drum. Great tuning range!! Very dry sounding. I put a 40 strand snare wire set on it. Also I put a power stroke 77 on it, and tuned it high!! Super nasty!! I paid 200 dollars out the door brand new 7 years ago. I just recently sold it.😢

    I honestly felt like this was a DOWN move. His first snare became a STANDARD. Almost came with any Pearl kit, mid-range to entry level. When you hear it you know it's the Chad Smith signature snare. It was my first LEGITIMATE snare, which I still have today.
    Then Pearl and Chad came out with another signature snare with an innovative shell design that's never been done before. Giving you the option of 2 brass and 1 steel super narrow shells to get different sound options.
    Few months later, moves to DW. I love chad. Plays a big role in my sound. But these snare are like mayonnaise sandwiches. BLAND!
    They sound great .... Don't get me wrong. My expectations was HIGH.

      I can tell you're not Canadian. We would happily take a mayonnaise sandwich any day of the week.

      Add some grey poupon to that mayo and you have a proper sammie. :D

      Heidi Heidiho Lol, a couple of minutes ago, I realized I was out of lunchmeat for a sandwich. I started considering just throwing a little mayo & mustard on the bread & just going with that. Now I see these comments. It’s gotta be fate 🤣

    They're OK. Certainly wouldn't buy any of them despite the reasonable prices.

    • @1dudecrush
      @1dudecrush 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They aren't nearly as cool or special as his Pearl Free Floater snare was. I still want to try and snag one of those if possible. Pretty sure they've only gone up in price though.

    • @heidiheidiho6412
      @heidiheidiho6412 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think they're great as an auxiliary, but not as a main snare.

    • @frankspikes4867
      @frankspikes4867 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought the same thing till I saw one in a local music that sat on a shelf for a considerable amount of time. 200 bucks out the door. Plus I've always wanted an acrylic snare. I just couldn't afford that rare forest green ludwig vistalite. Lol. Great drum, great value, and loud as all get out.

      @@frankspikes4867 Yes .... I saw the 13 inch on another TH-cam channel yesterday and it sounded great.

    • @frankspikes4867

      @@johnbertasius2612 I have the 14x6. I rotate snares. I also have the first edition pdp maple hoops, maple shell snare. That snare is also a screamer. Loud, light, crisp and very articulate. My only issue is the tube lugs. They look pretty but are very delicate. You have to be precise and patient when you put the bolts back on. It's super easy to cross thread and strip the lugs.

      Thanks for noticing @eeza1236 - the whole point is so that you can easily compare each piece of gear...it's all about the sound rather than the playing! Thanks for watching!
