My local shed was Heaton Mersey..went roujnd it many times, and to the nearby Cheadle Heath stn..which was under used off peak, where passenger services were concerned..very few services to/from Manchester, which was typical of the time, and they wondered why passenger revenue was poor..however, the peak periods were quite busy, with trains starting at Cheadle Heath/also terminating from Central..I always found it strange, that very few St. Pancras services called, they served Tiviot Dale, but the Midland Pullman did..I think the the Scot (46129)may have been on the 1722 Central to Buxton, which often had a Jubilee, Patriot, or Scot on it..including Scots Guardsman occasionally. other regular locos was 45705 "Seahorse", 45522 (Prestatyn),and 45596, Bahamas.
