It's true. I do agree that adapting Novel's setting which is casting another Wei WuXian in Mo XuanYu's form would look like Lan Zhan is having an affair to another person. I also thought it would break some in-depth emotional attachments of the viewers to the role of WeiWuxian just because another actor plays it half-way the series. It's like introducing a foreign element in it which coud be unwelcoming. The screenwriters and directors were really smart in making this film, molding the story here and there but not losing its authentic beauty.
I was at first also curious about the physical part of WeiYing and MoXuanYu as I didn’t read all chapters of the novel. I think the series is so successful coz of XiaoZhan’s perfect acting skills for the 3 stages of WeiYing’s life. I think if there were another cast for WeiYing in life after incarnation, not only LanZhan or Yibo will protest, but also we fans wouldn’t have enjoyed and get addicted as we are now 😊 Thanks for your analysis. I have been stuck mostly home for covid time. This is a great motivation and entertaining to keep up my hope.
I read the novel and watched the drama multiple times, and in the beginning I was a bit confused whether WWX used Mo's body after rebirth. Thanks for your excellent analysis, you pieced the clues together in a way that makes sense. I love the novel, but honestly I can't bring myself to imagine Lan Zhan making love to Wei Ying with Mo's body😆
Thank you for explaining so clearly so there’s no debate in the drama version. I got the confirmation of what I suspected. Wei Ying really came back to Lan Zhan. This adaptation & differs from novel so that it wont be complicated for fresh drama audience. Yup if its Mo or Wei then it’s confusing to explain to them. Anyway I feel much better its Wei Ying back with Lan Zhan than with somebody else. Also really thankful for Xiao Zhan for making Wei Wuxian in his teens & as YiLingLaoZhu such a memorable character & The Untamed so awesome & I shall watch again because of your analysis. Really thank Director Nie Huai San & Mo Xuan Yu for making it possible for Wei Ying to revive again.
PLOT TWIST: Nie Huaisang is the one who saved Wei Wuxian and kept him hidden and conspired with young Mo Xuanyu, and both of them waited for the right time to do the sacrifice that will set their plans in motion. I mean, who knows the real depths of Nie Huaisang plans, right?
Linda C Novel death: He performs a ritual that forces Wei Wuxian’s soul to possess his body which kills Mo Xuanyu. Drama Theory: Mo Xuanyu sacrifices himself whilst using a spell that would heal Wei Wuxian’s injuries from his fall.

Thank you very much for your analysis, I always love all your insight of the untamed, XZ for me is Wei Ying, if the producer change him after rebirth, I don’t think this drama will successful, for me and millions of fans, it’s look like the story was written for XZ and Yibo, they are really destined to play this drama together, I can’t imagine someone can do better than XZ and Yibo.

Another great video! You should do an analysis on lan xichen and how he views the relationship between lan zhan and wei ying. There will be alot to talk about because lan xi chen is the person that can read lan zhan the most.
I want to ask if that was Wei Wuxian's body then how come he was able to unsheath the sword later at burial mounds???? Also was really glad that they didn't change the actor after rebirth..... Xiao Zhan is perfect as Wei Wuxian....
I personally think that Wei Wuxian's essence could still be detected when he unsheathes Suibian, (his soul), Suibian still recognized Wei Wuxian's soul. But because he does not have a golden core, he can no longer wield it as it's a spiritual weapon. Jiang Cheng can unsheath (and wield, if he wanted to) Subian because he has Wei Wuxian's golden core. I think him still choosing to wield Saundu in the present I feel is a matter of personal preference.
Wei Wuxian is the same person, body and soul because he did not die as per the drama version, hence, he was recognised by his spiritual sword "Suibian." In the earlier episode it was mentioned his body was unable to be found and spirit unable to be summoned. This can only happen if he did not die but was hidden somewhere by someone. In ep 1 LWJ played his zither using "inquiry" asking the whereabouts of WWX soul before he responds to the emergency call (fireworks) of the Lan juniors. In ep 2 Jiang Cheng used Zidian (suppose to expel the spirit possessing the body) because it was revealed no remains was found at the bottom of the cliff. WWX himself mentioned that he has no idea where he's been for the past 16 yrs. (refer to Ep 33) while in ep 42 (the identity reveal), it was explained that the sacrificial curse done by Mo Xuanyu is to heal those who are severly wounded. WWX was also recognized by everyone after he took off the mask.
I was confused at 1st too but as the show went on u find out lan zhan can speak to the dead. That rite there tells u he didnt die, which is y he kept looking for him.
Totally explains why Lan Chan and Jiang Cheng couldn't find Wei Ying's body or bones at the bottom of the hill later. Definitely replacing WWX with a new character (Mo Xuanyu) after rebirth would have ruined our love for their reunion. Great analysis.

Mainly because everytime I pictured Wei Ying's smile while reading it was Xiao Zhan's smile😊. I had quite a little struggle on my own while reading the novel as I could picture only Xiao Zhan as Wei Wuxian and I had to keep reminding myself that the body has changed . Since wei wu xian's original core was given to jiang cheng, and for the tv version he doesn't have a new body, he has no core at all. He can still night hunt since he still has another kind of power.
Thought so Wei Yin did not die but was saved and hidden to recuperate to carry out the revenge plan. Lan Zhan recognised Wei Yin through their song that Wei Yin played to control Wen Nen. Ya good plot and kuddos to the writer 👍👍 ❤️

编剧改得太好了。我可以接受小说里魏婴重生后附在莫玄羽身上这个设定 毕竟乱葬岗不是一般的东西hh(虽然有点心酸) 这也显示蓝湛从始至终爱的只有魏婴的灵魂无关肉体(这样的男友给我来一打XD)。但如果在剧里是不同的演员诠释魏婴 恐怕是我无法接受的 因为怎么看还是肖战可以演出魏无羡的精髓。谢谢甜蜜君详细的解说(比心)

Another great video! You should do an analysis on lan xichen and how he views the relationship between lan zhan and wei ying. There will be alot to talk about because lan xi chen is the person that can read lan zhan the most.
I want to ask if that was Wei Wuxian's body then how come he was able to unsheath the sword later at burial mounds????
Also was really glad that they didn't change the actor after rebirth..... Xiao Zhan is perfect as Wei Wuxian....
I personally think that Wei Wuxian's essence could still be detected when he unsheathes Suibian, (his soul), Suibian still recognized Wei Wuxian's soul. But because he does not have a golden core, he can no longer wield it as it's a spiritual weapon. Jiang Cheng can unsheath (and wield, if he wanted to) Subian because he has Wei Wuxian's golden core. I think him still choosing to wield Saundu in the present I feel is a matter of personal preference.
Wei Wuxian is the same person, body and soul because he did not die as per the drama version, hence, he was recognised by his spiritual sword "Suibian." In the earlier episode it was mentioned his body was unable to be found and spirit unable to be summoned. This can only happen if he did not die but was hidden somewhere by someone. In ep 1 LWJ played his zither using "inquiry" asking the whereabouts of WWX soul before he responds to the emergency call (fireworks) of the Lan juniors. In ep 2 Jiang Cheng used Zidian (suppose to expel the spirit possessing the body) because it was revealed no remains was found at the bottom of the cliff. WWX himself mentioned that he has no idea where he's been for the past 16 yrs. (refer to Ep 33) while in ep 42 (the identity reveal), it was explained that the sacrificial curse done by Mo Xuanyu is to heal those who are severly wounded. WWX was also recognized by everyone after he took off the mask.

Totally explains why Lan Chan and Jiang Cheng couldn't find Wei Ying's body or bones at the bottom of the hill later. Definitely replacing WWX with a new character (Mo Xuanyu) after rebirth would have ruined our love for their reunion. Great analysis.

Thank you very much😊My doubt has cleared (about Xianshe and sheshan).I first watched the drama then read the novel and I couldn't agree (almost disturbed😅)with the fact that the body is changed after Wei Ying's rebirth . Mainly because everytime I pictured Wei Ying's smile while reading it was Xiao Zhan's smile😊. I had quite a little struggle on my own while reading the novel as I could picture only Xiao Zhan as Wei Wuxian and I had to keep reminding myself that the body has changed . Maybe if I read the novel first the body changing thing would not have mattered😊. But I m more than happy that they did Sheshan and not Xianshe in the Drama 😊( I m amazed and bewitched by Xiao Zhan's acting skill, beauty, charm, smile and of course Wang Yibo's acting too❤)
