The Switch cutscenes are visually appealing but there is very little interaction between Mario and Donkey Kong unfortunately, and sadly we haven’t got HD voice lines from Mario, the funny ones.
Here's all the differences (besides the cutscenes in the Switch version being fully animated and the different voice lines, obviously, though some of the latter will still be pointed out): Cutscene 1: - A Spanish voice is heard in the original version. The Switch remake replaces it with a portion from the final boss theme from the original game; - The Shy Guy in the news channel has his actual voice clips in the remake unlike the comical gibberish from the original; - The original has DK look at the Mini Mario with hearts in his eyes, while the Switch remake replaces it with the Mini Mario being reflected in his eyes (which probably was for the best lol); - There's an additional scene where DK drops the remote and runs from his home in the remake rather than using good ol' fashioned teleportation like in the original; - In the original scene, after DK sees that all the Mini Marios were sold out, the Mario Toy Company is opposite of him. In the remake, it's to his right side; - The aforementioned scene also has DK making a harrumph harrumph-y face in the remake. Cutscene 2: - In the remake, the Toads in the factory all wear hard hats; - In the original, DK barges into the factory practically instantaneously. In the remake, it takes a couple of seconds; - The shadow of DK looming over the Toads is not in the remake; - The remake adds two additional Toads when they're all running around and freaking out at DK's sudden entrance: a green one (which is not seen anywhere else in the remake), and THE Toad; - In the original, Mario notices DK with the bag immediately after the latter runs out of the factory. In the remake, Mario walks by when the Toads and DK come out of the factory, the latter already having his bag on his back; - DK snarls at Mario before taking off in the remake, something he doesn't do in the original; - And of course, all of Mario's glorious lines in this cutscene are completely cut from the remake, replaced with "Hey! Wait!". Cutscene 3: - In the original, DK gets angry and captures the Toads after Mario, the Mini Marios and the Toads all laugh at him after the bag is revealed to be empty. In the remake, DK gets angry immediately, no one laughs at him, the Mini Marios are nowhere to be seen in the cutscene, and DK captures the Toads unprovoked. Also, the scene of DK climbing the building and Mario using the elevator is cut. Cutscene 4: - DK's fall lasts much longer in the remake compared the original, with even a brief cut to black in the middle of it; - The truck DK crashes onto is nowhere to be seen in the remake; - Mario isn't shown using the elevator and doesn't ask DK if he's okay in the remake. Cutscene 5: - Like in cutscene 3, Mario doesn't laugh at DK when the bag is revealed to be empty in the remake; - The remake also adds a scene where Mario and DK glare at each other before the latter steals all the Mini Marios; - Mario doesn't say a word when he starts chasing after DK in the remake, unlike the original. Cutscene 6: - The remake begins with Mario happy to have retrieved the Mini Marios; - In the original, Mario briefly gets mad at a weeping DK before cheering him up, while in the remake, DK is the one who's angry and Mario holds no grudge against him; - Because of the above, the remake doesn't have Mario tell DK not to cry. He also doesn't say "It's-a Mini Mario" when holding the Mini Mario; - The Mini Mario doesn't call DK a "monkey man" in the remake. Was this comment necessary? Probably not. Do I regret writing it? Not at all.
Cutscene 4 also has the Mini Mario’s just fall out of the truck in the remake whereas in the original, the crystal balls they were in shattered where they activated

What are you talking about, Mario talks here in the remake and DK has a soul what lol. They didn't delete any interaction, they literally interact just as much as they did in the original.
While the switch version’s cutscenes look visually better as they’re fully animated, I still prefer the presentation of the gba version as Mario talks more with small sentences and gibberish lines. It just has a charm to it that really gives him personality. Plus the end credits is missing Mario’s comments on the staff especially on the part where he credits his own voice actor.
If you look back when this game was first announced, Nintendo stated that Charles' past VO clips of Mario will be reused for this game. Same thing with Luigi's Mansion 2.
Very sad that people are just bashing the remake's cutscenes because a few specific lines were replaced. Saying that "removes the charm." Just ignoring how it's actually all animated now and that the amount of times Mario and DK interact are exactly the same, it's just a shame.

The cutscenes on Switch look very good but they took a lot of personality and some details from the originals. For example, some funny voice clips were cut off, Mario laughing at Donkey Kong was also cut off and in the final cutscene, when Donkey Kong was crying, he looks angry in the remake. Which potentially makes them some of the lowest points of the remake. Other than that though they look very good overall still, even though the originals were a bit funnier.
What personality was taken out? A few voice lines being replaced with other ones? Mario doesn't laugh at him anymore cause that's not who he is and it just caused more problems for him anyway. DK also isn't angry in the remake, he's sulking rather than crying cause again that's more in character for him. Yes some things were portrayed a bit differently but that doesn't take the personality out of them, you just ignore the great animation and call these cutscenes "some of the lowest points of the remake" merely because you didn't hear a specific voice line. These are far from the remakes lowest points.

A lot of voice sounds were left in the new version. Very sad.... Oh you mama mia....
The the fact that maybe Nintendo disliked the way their fans make mario look like a bad guy in their animations as they wonder why, they found this game they made years ago and realized it, so they made a remake of this game making mario less like a jerk and just some cute nice guy who's more concern, also the graphics in the GBA look awful ngl they had a better looking version the neta back then and it was going to be called DonkeyKong 2 i think th-cam.com/video/xPBnfCiUbXE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=LBpsTDX5iL3fRuVv
3:33 where are my funnys hahas
The original is better of a little detall, Mario has the best voices lines
5:47 oh mama mia
Well at least the Mini Marios are still 40 dollahs.
20 años cumple este juego
6:17 I just love how DK gave Mario the Stink eye
I'm curious in the switch version, the bag in the toy company all of a sudden has a DK icon on like it was made for DK
Why they delete all the interaction. With the years mario forgot how to talk and kong lost his soul... whyyyyyyyy
What are you talking about, Mario talks here in the remake and DK has a soul what lol. They didn't delete any interaction, they literally interact just as much as they did in the original.
I actually got an advert for it
THERE SO CUTTTTEEEE
While the switch version’s cutscenes look visually better as they’re fully animated, I still prefer the presentation of the gba version as Mario talks more with small sentences and gibberish lines. It just has a charm to it that really gives him personality. Plus the end credits is missing Mario’s comments on the staff especially on the part where he credits his own voice actor.
Bruh DK committed so many felonies over a toy.
Rip kirkhope DK
It's out already?
the remake its actually what nintendo how it looks like
6:06 y lo dice con tanta inocencia.
Sin duda en GBA la escena es más conmovedora.
I always preferred Grant Kirkhope's DK voice lmao
Somehow I knew they'd cut the voice lines we actually wanted to see. It's such a random Nintendo move, but this time way too predictable
I wonder, who’s credited as Mario in the credits? 6:19 sounds like Afghani to me, did they mix Charles’ archives with Kevin to fill in the rest?
No, Kevin Afghani is not credited, it's still Charles Martinet apparently.
No es una pena, simplemente demuestra que el original de GBA tenía más encanto por los diálogos entre Mario y Donkey pese a que no estaba animado.
La animación no lo es todo, pero tampoco es malo el Remake.

Awesome
Will there be 2? The one on the GBA has the 2, the one on the Nintendo Switch doesn't have the 2
Do they use Charles or Kevin's voice in the remake? I can't see the difference
They reused Charles Martinet's voice lines from Odyssey.

Mini Mario is so cute😍
This makes me wanna play the original more tbh
That's very weird
@@chrange9714 how?
@@nerdlywacko Because it's like you're implying the remake is worse
@@chrange9714 the original has more charm, what can I say?
@@nerdlywacko From a couple specific lines? That gives it so much more charm? That was all that was replaced in the remake.
