As a Chilean living abroad it's been rough seeing how little the international media has been reporting on these atrocious human rights violations by the Chilean police and military. I would like to note that the numbers of people injured, tortured, sexually assaulted/abused that are quoted here are very likely higher in reality. 'Official' numbers are extremely unreliable considering most of them originate from the Chilean government itself. As you can see in the video, the minister for the interior stands by the fact that no human rights are being violated as the military and police are "following all protocols".

Last century the CIA destabilized the government of Salvador Allende (democratically elected) by sabotaging truck drivers in the country, generating a lack of products in some places and oversupply in others. Then the "la moneda" palace was bombarded with planes and the president died, supposedly because he committed suicide (with such lies told in recent months, I don't believe them). After this, the dictator General Augusto Pinochet assumed power, who ruled until 1990 under the motto "the end justifies the means" that is, economic freedom at the expense of the other freedoms. Metaphorically speaking, he bought the current economic stability of Chile with the blood of thousands of innocent civilians and militants of the socialist and communist parties (note that I speak of different groups: civilians and opponents, many unarmed). The lucky ones were exiled. There were tortures, disappearances, extrajudicial executions and even hunts in foreign territories (I think that constitutes an act of war). Some of the crudest testimonies of survivors speak of living incinerated people, women who were put mice in the vagina as a method of torture, people being thrown into the sea from helicopters, or being blown up with dynamite in the middle of the Atacama desert , etc. There was a tour that the dictator did in several cities in Chile, where the military literally took random civilians from their homes and killed those who were considered "more extremist" in extremely cruel and disgusting ways, only to generate terror and submission, exactly the same as the terrorist group "luminous path" in Peru used to do in the past.
Edit: The "caravan of death" was so disastrous that the following words came out of one of the generals in an interview.
"I was ashamed to see them. They were shattered. I wanted to arm them, at least leave them in a human form. Yes, they took out their eyes with knives, they broke their jaws, they broke their legs ... In the end they gave them the coup of grace. They were taught. "[...]" They were killed so that they died slowly. That is, sometimes they shot them in parts. First, the legs; later, the sexual organs; Then the heart In that order the machine guns fired"
      - Joaquin Lagos.
I will be honest. I respect and admire the moral standards of freedom that the U.S. proclaims in his symbols, slogans and anthem, but knowing the history of my country I cannot avoid feeling disgust when I hear them. Excuse me, but unfortunately I also love freedom, but I was born in another hemisphere. Anyway, I admire and respect the American who, innocent of the crimes committed in my land, defends that freedom in ALL context, not just for convenience. It is not his/her fault, and I think (perhaps naively) that their current leaders are not to blame either. God bless and forgive their country.

      1) In the Noah/Nuh thing, there's this story about people cleaning the ship which was vandalised in certain ways. A blind man took a dirt and smear it on his face, then he suddenly got his eyesight back cus God love Noah/Nuh, so basically everyone who helped him was rewarded. In the end everyone took the dirts home to make it as medicine.
      2) In Makkah, there's a man who regained his eyesight infront of Kaabah thanks to God. Look it up on Google "Blind man regained his eyesight in front of Kaabah"
      3) There's a lot more I guess.
Just to clarify, I'm just 17, I'm not religious, I don't believe in any religion. I heard these stories from people who wanna convert me to Islam/Muslim in Malaysia.

Protesters should start playing with FIRE and drop gallons of gasoline from above on the police (pigs) and turn the pigs into hot bacon.

Hey, in Chile this week, a 15-year-old teenager was severely shot by a lacrinogen bomb in her head. One of the many seriuous cases.
Lachrymogen causes cuts, shedding, fractures, inlays, burns, tooth loss, eye explosion, expulsion of one eye, cranial brain trauma, cardiorespiratory shock, panic attack, death.
In other countries people die from the shooting of lachrymogen. This is a crime.
Please show it to the NYTimes, show it to the world.

Caught my special attention that eye-injured people is esentially from mestizo ethnicity. I think the problem of inequality is mostly sustained by ethnic segregation.
