I have never seen a bike assemble like that but you know what?Is nice to see people that build bikes like this without using top of art Park tool accessories. As a bike mechanic, I am proud of you!
Damn man, I started to build bikes when I was probably 12, and I remember the tools I had, basically a shifter, a hammer, a hacksaw, some Allen keys and some screwdrivers, a couple pair of plyers and on corded drill. If I couldn’t fix it or build it with those, it wasn’t done. I look at the stuff I own now as an adult and think to myself what 12yo me would think of using a workshop like mine. I remember I had a bike that had a worn out cotter pin and I could not remove it. I had the same thing last week and 2 minutes with a cordless grinder and it was out.
I remember painting our bike frames using paint diluted with paint thinner and mixing them in a mosquito insecticide bottle sprayer. We used what we had, no hyped-up tools.
@@busoptr damn dude that’s ingenious! I still have a few of those things kicking around. I know I’ve painted a bike with one of those shitty vacuum cleaner adaptor spray things, but a fly spray sprayer is just next level! You’re right though, you just made do. I was changing pedals on my older road bike and after cutting everything away, they weren’t coming out, so I sprayed them overnight with some lube, and then locked the nut up in my vice, put a large shifting spanner onto the crank and they were out in a minute. Sometimes it’s not the tools, it’s the bloody experience you have, too.
And here I am just trying to learn how to fix a simple broken derailleur and struggling I would love to have someone teach me how to build and fix bikes.
I love your work. I hate it when people put it as a must to have the same type of group set all around.. mix and match bros.. yes the full durace will be good.. but if budget don't permit.. have some sora here, 105 there.. claris here.. sensah there, microshift here... i like u brother.. subscribing!
You're exactly right! We're in a limited budget in our restoration upgrade and buying expensive groupset is not reasonable for the kind of ride we do! And by doing some research, we decided to find some cheap brake/shifter levers that are fit for shimano RD which are worth investing... And voila! the drivetrain is smooth as it should be! 😁
It's wild how far the budget market has come along in terms of functionality, durability and aesthetics. I got a good price on a full Tiagra 4700 set. It's so good and has lasted me this long.
I love the soothing music and just pure metal clanking, and most importantly, he is showing us the possibility of parts mix-matching, especially in this part shortage moment.
i don't know how the universe works, but somehow i already bought the same components , ignite brifter, RD & FD Sora, claris crank, before i watched this. And now i'm gonna assemble it on my steel frame. Very nice video!
i love all your works sir, hoping na makilala rin kita ng personal sir. kudos sa mga ginagawa mo nakikita namin sa work mo ang passion mo sa paggawa ng bike. sana makapag pagawa ako sa iyo one day
great work! a couple of tips: put clear tape on the frame where the cables are rubbing, like on the fork tube. also use a plier to crimp the cable ends, not the cable cutters. that way they don't break when you compress them.
Nice build. Try using spray on the longest direction. 1 very light first coat in the shortest (like you are already doing) with special attention to curves and hidden places. Than do the second one on the other direction, still light covering tho.
MORE VIDEOS TO COME, ride safe, God bles.
felicidades ejemplo de los amantes de las bicis lastima que no aprecian el sacrificio que hacemos muchos para tener las cosas y ay gente tiene maldad y rompen cosas ajenas
Really enjoyed watching your bike restoration and the end result. Plus your little doggie is so sweet and lovable 💕. Kiss him or her on the little head for me.
Greetings, I am making the same change, on my mountain bike I have a 52/34 crank, and an 11/36 cassette, I am using sora handlebars but the front derailleur is not sora and it does not work well, which derailleur do you recommend I use? would it need to be sora? thanks for your answer.

If you want a better-looking finish, wet sand in between primer, base, and clear
sand the clear coat flat, then buff it
I'll keep that in mind! thank you!
POGI naman yan idol! sanaol naka RB

Are Claris crankset and Sora RD working fine together? Isn't the chain or the chain line creating any difference?
Yes as long as the shifter speed is equal to cogs
The plain silver ally looked fine tbh, not sure about that green at all!
Huge job man! Love cycling and I learn to much with videos like your. Sincerely I didnt read all messages and I would like the message meaning on the top tube. Thanks!
