    12" band saw with a 7-1/4" max depth of cut. Will run on a 1/3hp motor (1725rpm) but more power is better. I'll be using a 1hp motor.

      @@kryptik0 I got a 1/2hp, 1,725 rpm Baldor brand motor. I got it from Kijiji, motors are always coming up there for good prices. I asked John in his Locals. He suggested 1/2hp, 1,725 rpm. He said you could go as low as 1/3hp and up to 1hp but there's drawbacks for both. I think he also mentioned it in either this video or another regarding the bandsaw build.

    You’re one of the last people who build projects that are not copying other shit. There is an ocean of channels that put out weekly videos that talk about a topic for ten minutes. I hope your adherence to your style produces loyalty that at least keeps the views high. The numbers are making your dread posting. Could put out some videos on stuff and make word faces and act like a weirdo. Some Steve Terryberry kind of stuff.

    As a videographer/editor/voice-over artist in a previous job, I understand and, more importantly, appreciate the time and effort you put into making professional videos. There are far too many TH-camrs who think just rolling a camera and getting some sound is sufficient. Your care in production is one reason why I subscribed. Another is how you explain your processes, so that it's all "relatively easy" for the average woodworker to complete. However, I would say that most of what you do is "simple" but not necessarily "easy." As far as plans are concerned, it took me back to the speech class I took in college. I got A's on all the speeches, but I got a C in the class, because I didn't keep a notebook with all the speech plans in it. That was 50% of the grade. Yep, the notebook plans took all the joy out of the class. Keep up the good work, you never know when you could produce the "worst video ever." Love the Napoleon Dynamite quotes at the end!

    I watched the desk video. The video, voice over, etc. was great. The desk was cool, but didn't fit me. But that's okay. This is a custom desk built for the user of that desk. It was plenty thought provoking and to me that's just as if not the most important aspect of any build video.

  • @Naiemaa
    @Naiemaa 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You may wanna consider outsourcing the thumbnail and title part (especially the thumbnail) some people outsource the editing too!
    I obviously have no idea how expensive this can be but with the existence of fiver and other freelancing platforms there might be a work around something like gathering multiple title suggestions from those people and then you coming up with your own based on them.

  • @nicktrousers
    @nicktrousers 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You can change titles and thumbnails and see how each performs in a video. Veritasium made a video about this. It even makes old videos go viral

    • @IBuildItScrapBin
      @IBuildItScrapBin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It made one of his videos go viral on a channel that regularly puts out viral content. That doesn't mean it always works.
      I've tried several times to change both and it's very rare that it will make any difference at all.
      The best is to start with a winning title and thumbnail and I have dozens of videos that prove that out. That's why I said "it's too late".

    It seems a sad indictment on the population of today's video watching community that they have to have, essentially a 'rodeo clown' to direct them to something to watch ? I am, of course, an old fart and as such I make my decision on what I want to watch on the 'content' of the video ? Will not watch someone folding laundry or 'influencers' or some idiot playing video games, but I prefer to watch something with content that I can see the presenter has gone to a fair amount of trouble to assemble for my enjoyment and edification ? It must be soul destroying to make a video and then have to employ the same tactics as the former US president to get your message across, this is on the audience, Not the presenter !!
