I also forget to mention, that the shop on the left, where the Items are, can be displayed by clicking on the text next to the deck. it will display the cards at top and if you click again it will get the cards back.
hi, nice work ;) thx for that and here are a few additions, you may not now or only forgot: -the decks on the right with City Events, Road Events and so on, if you ever need a new deck you can click on the button directly under the deck ;) -on the map you can click on the area for the achievements. It will pop up a board with all flags where you can choose from ;) also after you clicked a number for getting the sticker you have 4 options to click on the number again ;) single left click: check the little checkbox on that sticker double click: it will setup this scenario like in the game setup menu tripple click: it will check the box on the sticker red, if you want to track, which scenarios you dont allowed to go or blocked rightclick: like you told in the video, to remove the sticker -damage: maybe you overlooked it but the damage token you dragged first on the monster sleeve can be left clicked to rise and richtclicked to lower the number on it your shuffle problem at the monster modifier cards, was due to the lack of cards on the left deck. there was only one card left and that is not a deck any more. this will be fixed in a future update. the shuffle button will get the cards from the discard back on the deck and shuffle that deck.
Hi, first thank you for the work in putting this together. (assuming you are the kijan that help make this and not jut someone with the same name and are also super knowledgeable about the mechanics of it. Second, during one of my sessions we somehow deleted map icons 3 and 4. I didn't see any replacement in the secret chest. Any tips on getting them back into that session?
you load your save and delete the crate on the map that is called location. then load a fresh game and copy the crate from there and load from there without closing to menu your save again. then past the crate in and place it where the old one was. then rightclick and search. look for the token that you allready placed and delete them. then take 3 and 4 out and put it anywhere on the map... now rightclick the number 3 and 4 on the map for removing the sticker. the 3 and 4 should move back in the crafte and then you can grab 3 and 4 again ;)
Hey, Kijan. I'm a huge fan and user of your mod. I'm on it almost daily. The auto-shuffling of modifier decks is a really nice feature, and it's occurred to me that, given the limited possibilities, it wouldn't be all that hard for someone like you to add "Advantage" and "Disadvantage" buttons (small) under the "Draw" buttons for both players and monsters, and automate that as well. That would be too cool for school, and 100% doable, I think you'll agree.
Yeah, this is the best gloomhaven mod by far. The scripted scenarios are a fairly new feature and there were a few monster placement errors. I tested all of them, reported it and they fixed them in the latest version. We were playing in RL but a buddy from NJ wanted to play also so we tried it with TTS. It was awesome. If you have an older version of the mod and want to upgrade your current game to the latest version, I added the steps to do so in the Discussion section of the mod in steam under the Tips and Tricks thread.
Enough has changed since you made this that you might consider making a new one. It's getting more attention as people look for ways to play from home. Thanks for your effort!
super helpful walkthrough, much appreciated and good to see before i throw down on a tabletop simulator 4-pack for Gloomhaven remote play with friends.
A couple of things: Solo mode: When you're playing with multiple people and don't have this option checked, whenever a player selects the draw modifier card it will draw a modifier from that players modifier deck. I haven't played in solo mode yet, but I assume that having this box ticked makes it so you can draw from the modifier deck of whatever characters turn it currently is (someone correct me if im wrong on this) Shuffle deck: The scripts are actually smart enough that when a face up attack modifier has the shuffle attribute (say a miss card or a boss card with shuffle on it) it will actually automatically shuffle the respective deck for you when you end the round. Dead monsters: If you delete monsters (hover over and use delete key) after they die the script is smart enough to recognize if there are no spawned versions of that monster out and will not draw an action card for that monster (and therefor not put up an initiative value for that monster). removing a player/player storage: So this is a REALLY nice feature, but after you've added a player you can actually remove them by clicking the button that you used to add that player mat (which now will say remove player). Doing so will take ALL the components that were in that players area and conveniently package them up into one of those little manilla folder looking objects. You can then move that object around, like if you want to change classes. You can right click and select 'save object' and then save it (it can then be placed back out using objects > saved objects) so you can carry over progress for your character between sessions or even between games! This also works in reverse. So you can add a player and then drag the characters manilla folder onto the player board and it will unpack everything for you. card buttons: Under the spaces where you play your cards are three buttons: active, discard and lost. Clicking those sends the card above it to the respective location for that player. It's pretty handy to use instead of having to drag them back to your player sheet manually. monster health: I don't know if you mentioned it and I missed it, but monsters also have their health displayed above their standee's. You can raise/lower them by clicking the +/- on the bottom of the standees. buff/bane tracking: You can actually drag a buff/bane (negative status effect) onto a standee to track them. They float over the standee and are really nice to use instead of having to refer to the monster mat. If you want to remove these markers just right click on them. I'm sure theres more tips and tricks I know of that weren't mentioned here but I can't remember them at the moment. Hope this helps!
To anyone who uses this excellent video, a couple of things have changed since it was made: There is now a green felt tabletop that you should not try to remove or change. (It's apparently a load-bearing tabletop.) There is a quick start guide in the game box on your left. Get it out of the box and follow it, because the character setup has changed. Traps and other map tiles you might have to place are located in the game box as well. I am new to TTS and it was very clunky for me to pull out the "tiles" bag and then find the trap (1 copy?) that was in it. I had to take out a lot of stuff. If someone can school me on TTS, please do! Also, if someone can school me on how you do rests? I had to pull the cards back to hand, then separate them from the stack one by one. Is there a better way?
Just started playing with this TTS mod and wanted to add a couple things that I've learned that I didn't see mentioned or were glossed over on here: 1. I saw someone ask about city/road event text being garbled. If you pause your mouse over many items, in this case the city and road even decks, it will explain what to do. For these when you pause (it's slightly longer than a normal mouseover pause), it says something like "state 1 - all text hidden, state 2 - option a revealed, state 3 - option b revealed. There are other items in the mod that have that same sort of tooltip. 2. Solo Mode on the battle interface essentially duplicates the buttons (exepct for start and end round buttons) for each player. So in a two player game there will be a Attack Modifier draw button on the interface for P1 and P2, as well as sort deck, and long rest. It is literally labelled something like "Draw P1 Attack Modifier" and once drawn will output to your screen the custom text for that player and what they had drawn so you don't even need to look at the card. Great video! Kudos to the mod designers as well. It works beautifully! It alleviates the tedious parts but leaves enough in so as not to make it feel like a videogame. Very well done!
I liked the video. Being completely new to both Gloomhaven and playing on TTS I actually would prefer a video that was a bit longer in which you explain all the options. Some, like solo, the gloomhaven store, you didn't go in to, etc. That said I realize that the goal of your video is to explain the Mod, not how to play the game nor the mechanics of TTS. Thanks!
Thanks, Ruston. That's helpful feedback. Given how well this video was received, I might work on another one when I have time. I usually try to keep my videos to 10 minutes with the occasional video being longer (like this one). In my experience, its difficult to keep people interested in watching longer than that! I'm glad this one seems to be the exception.
Another tip is that the default lighting is fairly dark (by design). If you want to see the objects, especially the standees, clearer you can set the Options->Lighting "Ambient" option to "Background" and notch the "Ambient Intensity" a bit to the right. Also, in the menu->configuration-> Graphics settings, turning off SSAO makes the nice background image on the map a bit better IMO.
Hi, thanks for putting this out there. I'm just now finding out about this way of playing Gloomhaven. I own the physical game and we're about a 1/3 of the way through the campaign. Has the setup changed? When I open this on TTS, the game box sits unopened at the left of the table. It isn't "unpacked" the way you show.
Sorry for the delayed reply! The setup might have changed. I did this video a long time ago. You might check out the community chat on steam for it as last I checked the author was really active. Good luck!
Hmmm... You're right. I don't see how to level up the health of the character standee, rather only the HP on the player mat. I will reach out to the authors and see if we are missing something or if that is something that can be corrected. Thanks!
Just to close this out, you can click on the health bar that is on the standee and the title will change to "max hp". Then you can move the max hp up or down. Thanks for the comment! I'm sure others have this question too.
On the play may area (the mat where you place cards to play them) each player has at the top of that mat a little section to update HP and XP. Doing this reflects the change on the standee and player mat. If you were talking about changing the max health on the standee I'm not 100% myself, but I assume it will reflect the HP of the character based on the level for that players slot on the party sheet on the far left.
Hey Lillian. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Yes, we were talking about the Max HP. At this point it doesn't update automatically when you level up your character, but you can change the max HP with the method mentioned above. Just click on the health bar itself and you can adjust it to the appropriate max HP.
With the pandemic going on, we are trying this out so we can still play Gloomhaven and social distance. Thanks for this. Has there been an update? I don't see the nice table decor. Maybe my computer is just slow?
There may have been an update. I did this video quite a while ago. The author was pretty active on the steam workshop thread. You might check there. Hope the video helped!
First thing I recommend anyone to do in TTS is change the turning ratio from 15 degrees to 90 degrees (upper rightmost UI option). Makes a world of difference. I haven't found a game yet where you'd want any less than that.
If you want to place the map tiles down yourself, which I have been doing prior to this video, you need that 15, 30 degree rotation. If you are using the game setup button then I do not see a situation where you would need anything less than 90.
I just saw they are making this game on Steam (I mean, the "video-game" version; have you seen it?), and that sparked my interest in this game. I didn't know, though, there was a printed board game for that until I found your awesome video. Thanks for it. I tend to prefer this more "light and intimate" video type than all that "professional looking" one we find on TH-cam. It gives us the feeling we are together in a playroom. Well, nevertheless, thanks again for the great video. Worked wonders as an introduction for Gloomhaven. Also, thanks for showing the TTS mod; I just got it on the Workshop. Now, to the ingame rules! :D Gonna have plenty of fun playing it :D
Great video, thank you. Our board looks slightly different than yours. We cant seem to find obsticles, traps etc. Have you made the table and set up yorself or is it possible to find this set up? It looks really nice. Thanks
@@FarCastStudios I looked on the Steam forum. The felt table is new since the video was made, and should not be changed. It's somehow important for things to run smoothly.
You don't want to delete the map with the player's standees in that area or they will be deleted too. It is best to move them back onto the player mats first. If you do delete them, new ones can be pulled from the player tuck boxes.
Thanks for the vid, it's been super helpful. Is there anything to track summons stats? I've just been leaving the card in the active area and putting a 6d down instead of the summons tokens to track HP, but was wondering if there was anything that I should be using that would be more helpful?
The game setup tab is not working. Every time that I "create map" it tells me "there are two 'Gloomhaven Scenario Full Setup' Objects! Delete one!" What objects are they talking about? I don't have anything on the board. Can I use this tool in the middle of a campaign?
Haven't played this on TTS for a while. Have you checked out the steam workshop where they discuss the game? The author is really active and I think they can help you. Wish I could be more help.
I know it's a bit late but... Just start a new game, pull out the moon character box, right click, save the object. You should be able to load your save and then pull in the moon character box that you saved. If you do something like that again you can hit ctrl+z to undo the delete... it's the same as loading the scenario though so it takes a bit.
@@ThomasWillinger 11 months later answer but, to add on what Andrew said, you dont even need to save the object to do this, you can "copy/ctrl+c" it and then load the new table and "paste/ctrl+v" it, without having to bother with saving objects (that you later have to delete or manage so you dont end up with your "inventory" full of different objects from different games)
Excellent video. REALLY excited to get the game going on Steam but have no clue how to do it. I play numerous other games on Steam but the purchase and installation seem to be much different for this one. f I beg nicely, is there any chance you would do a 5 minute newbie video showing how to start from scratch and get TTS and the Gloomhaven app you demo'd going. It appears we have to purchase TTS. Is that true? Then once TTS is purchased and up and running, where do I find the app? (Noticed someone else had trouble that way as well.) Thanks in advance if you decide to do this. It would be appreciated and possibly increase use of the app dramatically.
Glad you like it! I'd love to do another video but right now my schedule is challenging.... They do have a good discussion going in the workshop for the mod. But yes, you must purchase TTS. You can find more info by following this link: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1301493206&tscn=1563175343 For games like this you need to find them in the TTS workshop on steam and just make sure to "subscribe" and then you will be able to download it. If I free up I'll see if I can do another video!
Sorry, I can't seem to figure out how to reveal the city and road event results - it looks all garbled... does this happen with other spoiler text as well? How do I turn it off?
That is because they don’t want to spoil the answers. Just right click and select “state”. Then select 2 or 3 depending on which option you selected and it will reveal the one and keep the other garbled.
@@recorpse9698 Lol. Just watched this a bit again. Its been a long time since I created this! It is just personal preference. You can absolutely use the health +/- right on the token.
Hey guys, for the ones interested in learning how to play this game, here is the link for an online rulebook: online.flippingbook.com/view/598058/4/#zoom=z And for the lazy - I mean, practical ones - among us, here is the link to a video explaining it (which is ALSO on the top of page 04 of this rulebook): th-cam.com/video/pSWMvXT6jCw/w-d-xo.html
Sorry.. its been a while since I've played! I know the author was always super responsive if you go to steam and checkout the workshop discussion. Super helpful and a lot of folks that chime in to help.
Its a fair question. I think they are keeping them in to keep with the spirit of the physical game to give people options to track health. Really no reason to use them to your point.
Thanks for the responses. You should do another one of these if you get the time, because it's really helpful. Maybe play a few rounds in solo mode or something, that would be great.
@@ObscuredByTime I use the damage tokens for tracking health of things like obstacles or escorted npcs or other things like that which some scenarios have.
Hey Gwydion. Great video. I used this as my guide to setup Gloomhaven on tts and it eased the learning curve tremendously. One thing I would like to know (and hopefully you can help) is how to setup a game with friends that are in different areas. We would like to play on line but I don’t know tts well enough to set this up. I’m assuming everyone will need both tts and this mod but what are the other steps needed to setup an network game. Thanks again.
Sorry for the delay. I believe that bag is for the developers. You have to save like a normal TTS game. I believe it is the "games" button at the top left and then the save and load button.
Hmmm... I started watching just now from about 6:45 on until about 8:00 and don't see any change in the frame rate. Might not be the video but maybe a short-term internet issue with your provider? Thanks for the comment!
@@RPGFrequencies I don't think there's much you can do about it now since the video is already recorded, but it's when you're on the right-side of the playing area, where all the monsters are at. As you discuss the decks on the right side (around here: th-cam.com/video/rEsFA4QLquc/w-d-xo.html), the framerate does tank pretty bad and we can't see what you're doing anymore. However, you are explaining what you're doing so it's pretty easy to intuit what to do. And once you move away from all those assets the framerate comes back to something watchable. Good tutorial overall, in any case!
I plan on buying the physical set, wrapping it in thick plastic, and storing it away for for my grandkids to sell or play someday. No doubt at all that one day this will be worth thousands of dollars. Solid investment.
I also forget to mention, that the shop on the left, where the Items are, can be displayed by clicking on the text next to the deck. it will display the cards at top and if you click again it will get the cards back.

also after you clicked a number for getting the sticker you have 4 options to click on the number again ;)
single left click: check the little checkbox on that sticker
double click: it will setup this scenario like in the game setup menu
tripple click: it will check the box on the sticker red, if you want to track, which scenarios you dont allowed to go or blocked
rightclick: like you told in the video, to remove the sticker
-damage: maybe you overlooked it but the damage token you dragged first on the monster sleeve can be left clicked to rise and richtclicked to lower the number on it
your shuffle problem at the monster modifier cards, was due to the lack of cards on the left deck.
there was only one card left and that is not a deck any more. this will be fixed in a future update.
the shuffle button will get the cards from the discard back on the deck and shuffle that deck.

I have a similar question. Is your table setup something that can easily be created? I just have a green felt table that does not resemble the video.
I deleted accidently the moon character box. Is there any possibility to get it back?
I know it's a bit late but... Just start a new game, pull out the moon character box, right click, save the object.
You should be able to load your save and then pull in the moon character box that you saved.
If you do something like that again you can hit ctrl+z to undo the delete... it's the same as loading the scenario though so it takes a bit.
@@jelloproductions9511 Very helpful, thanks
(Noticed someone else had trouble that way as well.)
Thanks in advance if you decide to do this. It would be appreciated and possibly increase use of the app dramatically.
Glad you like it! I'd love to do another video but right now my schedule is challenging.... They do have a good discussion going in the workshop for the mod. But yes, you must purchase TTS. You can find more info by following this link: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1301493206&tscn=1563175343
For games like this you need to find them in the TTS workshop on steam and just make sure to "subscribe" and then you will be able to download it. If I free up I'll see if I can do another video!
@@RPGFrequencies thank you.
Where do I find this EXACT scripted UI?
I have one but it's much different than yours. I prefer yours ;)
Just found it, I think this is genuinely donation worthy.
Where can I donate?
I completely agree! The best you can do right now (I believe) is upvote it. They are great people and incredibly responsive to mod fixes and updates.
You can also directly hover over it and click 2, 3, 4 etc to change states. Makes it a little easier, I've found.
why would you need to use the damage token on the sleeve if you can change the health of the enemies right above the thing on the board?
I think that functionality might have been added after I made my video! :)
@@RPGFrequencies you literally did it in the video. that is unless I still don't get how the game works.
@@recorpse9698 Lol. Just watched this a bit again. Its been a long time since I created this! It is just personal preference. You can absolutely use the health +/- right on the token.
oh ok
Hey guys, for the ones interested in learning how to play this game, here is the link for an online rulebook: online.flippingbook.com/view/598058/4/#zoom=z
And for the lazy - I mean, practical ones - among us, here is the link to a video explaining it (which is ALSO on the top of page 04 of this rulebook): th-cam.com/video/pSWMvXT6jCw/w-d-xo.html
Hey I've lost the big world map is there a way to get it back??
Sorry.. its been a while since I've played! I know the author was always super responsive if you go to steam and checkout the workshop discussion. Super helpful and a lot of folks that chime in to help.
What's the point of damage tokens if you can add and subtract health via the interface on enemy stand-bases? Honest question.
How do you add enhancements to the player cards?
It's the decals on the left side menu. He mentions this at 30:00
Hey Gwydion.
You should be able to host the game and have your friends join your lobby - they will need the mod added to their own games to work properly.
I saw a saving bag in the middle of the table. Which one i have to save in order to safely quit the game.
Sorry for the delay. I believe that bag is for the developers. You have to save like a normal TTS game. I believe it is the "games" button at the top left and then the save and load button.
I’m not sure what happened about 7 minutes into the video, but the frame rate TANKED making it hard to follow what you were showing.
@@JustinHopewell Got it. My apologies! Thanks for the note and clarification.
how do i automatically have conditions like stuns fall off by themselves at the end of the round
I could be wrong but I don’t think they automatically fall off. I think you just have to take them off yourself.
Great overview. You just sold me a copy of TTS.
Where are the secret objectives ?
Much easier to track the HP directly on the standees :)
Is there a way in this mod to do solo play?
I believe you can. If you check out the workshop on steam and the chat there I think you can confirm.
I check my laptop charger, dang!
I plan on buying the physical set, wrapping it in thick plastic, and storing it away for for my grandkids to sell or play someday. No doubt at all that one day this will be worth thousands of dollars. Solid investment.
